Can anyone give me the NVidia Inspector settings for the absolutely BEST FSX graphics quality? I have a high-end system but am struggling to get superior graphics. TIA jja

First hello and an added Happy Thanksgiving to those in the US. I purchased "Fly the Maddog Pro 2010" as I wanted to do shared cockpit. After installing, the "Maddog" menu doesn't show. What I've done about it: Research! Apparently Win 7 isn't supported but I didn't see many with issues. Install as admin. Install with no UAC. Remove addons Edit the DLL.XML file 30 times (literally). After editing the DLL, sometimes Maddog will show but FSCopliot will not and vice versa. Then I took the plunge and uninstalled FSX. Hi there, I am quite new to tweaking the FSX.cfg. As I have done quite a bit of tweaking this week and not really seen an improvement in performance I am going to follow some parts from Word Not Allowed's Software & Hardware Guide for FSX. It first says I must start with a clean FSX.cfg by deleting the CFG. My question is, will all my addons be lost? or does FSX regenerate the cfg around the installed addons? Regards, Ciaran

Hi All, My install for FSX seems fine... all except where FSX saves the flightplans. Using Windows 7 x64 Pro. Currently my flightplans are saved here: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX (same path as fsx.cfg, dll.xml etc) I would prefer to use (what one would think "normal"): C:\Users\username\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files Cannot for the life of me figure out why this occurred. I don't see a registry entry (to make the change). No UAC... flightplans save OK just to the above named directory. Anyone know how to change / fix this? Thanks, Rob

I'm thinking of shelving all my airliner products for a while, and all the associated extra stuff (GSX, MCE, RAAS, FS2Crew), shelving my Yoke, attaching back my joystick, and just flying around in something that I can get off the ground in 5 minutes of flight planning instead of 30 minutes of planning&startup. I can sitll fly on VATSIM in small planes, but I won't have to play with an FMS or a massive checklist.. I think I've been flying flightsims for so long, and constantly challenging myself to advance more and more was only natural. But once mastering complex aircraft, after a while it is a bit of a drag to have to do a full startup sequence to get in the air …

Hi Guys, I have a weird problem. I have a bunch of cameras setup for different aircraft. For the most part it works great. However at random, I load up the simulator and my aircraft and the view will have shifted be it left right up down and enough to be an annoynace. Its just not the way I had it as in some switches are now partly off the screen or something similar. These were all saved perfectly before and used for full flights and I have not gone into camera config to change anything. Its just same aircraft, different day. Sometimes when I'm in cruise and flight sim has been running for a little while, I alt+tab to my browser or to nDAC to view some charts. Not all of the time, but very often at one point during the flight, when I switch back to flightsim my screen kinda froze up. So FSX is still running. I can hear the sounds. But the FSX screen is frozen. I can alt+tab away and things run normal, but not FSX. Doesn't matter if I'm fullscreen or windowed. Is there a way to "refresh" the screen so I can resume my flight?

I've been doing some VFR flights across Europe lately, and I've noticed that the city autogen scenery is very sparse. There will be large tracts of urban areas with very few buildings--generally in areas comprised of the autogen buildings with courtyards in the middle. I don't have this problem anywhere else--I get a nice high amount of autogen in North America, Asia, Australia, etc... it's just Europe that is very flat. As you can see, "standard" buildings appear fine--these are the same buildings used in a lot of US cities, hence why my autogen is fine there. But when I get into urban areas of the same cities (in this case Paris), the ground is almost entirely…

If the temp and winds aloft are purely representative and you have the "use VATSIM for missing data checked" would you be able to get current and accurate upper level winds through utilizing VATSIM for the data? Would there be any way to pull upper winds from VATSIM and sitll run OPUS until it is released through OPUS?

As we getting near to Christmas and a lot of fly and see Santa events come and go can anyone point me in the direction of good fsx scenery for the Finland area. I remember fs9 having good scenery for Finland but fsx I can't really find much any help would be great. I wouldn't mind a good Efro scenery would be great. Like the fs9 one but for fsx. Rob lambert

I have the latest beta version of OPUS FSX. But I experience no cockpit shake, or any winds. How can I fix it?

Hello evrybody, A while ago i bought the flightbeam ksfo scenery and i still really like it, but what recently started to happen is when i'm on approach for any runway my plane just drops from the sky at the beginning while i am 50 or more feet above the ground and have a nice decent rate and speed. It really annoys me since i really like this scenery and want to start making little movies for it. I really hope some1 can help me out. regards.

Ok fellas, I know this is regarded as a great aircraft and to the most part I agree, but the VC sucks... surely? Or is it me? Am I missing something? Are there some texture settings somewhere? Some of the instruments are so lo res that they're almost impossible to read...

Having fun with OpusFSX. It's a neat, compact peice of software. Another question about cams though.... Is it possible to make 'GLOBAL' changes to Automatic Head Movements? I now have MANY addon aircraft setup, but now realise I really don't like the AHM. Is there no way of disabling for all, or blocks of aircraft? Ta!

Hallo, ich hoffe hier kann mir jemand helfen ich bin so verzweifelt. Ich habe im April dieses Jahres einen wirklichen Hammer PC bekommen. Die Daten des PC`s stehen unten. Das erste mal als ich mit ihm den FSX gespielt habe , dachte ich mir so: WOW läuft übertrieben flüssig auch mit höchster Einstellung. Doch leider bekomme ich jetzt andauernd diese ultra nervigen Bluescreens die andauernd auftreten ohne das ich viele Flüge zu ende fliegen kann. D.h im Klartext ich kann keine Langstreckenflüge fliegen die ich immer sehr gerne geflogen bin, aber Kurzstrecke kann ich meistens auch nicht zu ende fliegen. Den PC hat ein IT Mann(ein Freund von uns) zusammengebaut für den FS…

I downloaded and installed tonight the Nvidia inspector 1.9.6.4 with the Driver 301.24 on my system with 2 x GTX580 setup in surround. When i go in inspector to the Vertical Sync field, I find only those options and nothing looks like the half the monitor refresh rate. Recently we have discovered a new HDR mod, called FXAA, works well with FSX. So I'm curious, what settings are some of us using?

Call me a bit slow but only discovered today that you can use 2 computers for FSX.......... I have an oldish core 2 duo 2.3Ghz with a nvidia 7950 GT card which I do not use anymore. Is this worth investigating ? Sorry but I do not know where to start, can anyone enlighten me what the advantages are ? I have FSX Gold. Thanks Paul

I find the land (and maybe clouds) too bright at night in FSX. Anyone else? And is there a solution to this? EDIT: I did turn my brightness on my monitor down to 0 and contrast way down too. But it made no difference, just less light through the screen. I could still see the land was colourful and bright.....which you wouldn't see during the night in real life, or in FS2004.

Yes, pretty annoying bug in FSX, I can't test various settings properly. For example what I did yesterday - Free Flight, default Cessna 172, VC view, parked @ Aerosoft EDDT facing on main terminal with several AI planes - 36fps~ Loaded Airbus X for FPS test, did a reset option, situation reloaded with cessna... but now fps is 30~... Loaded another plane to compare FPS to Airbus X, did again a reset option, and fter loding that situation fps is 28! Did several resets and FPS dropped to 27~, and stayed there. So tell me, what is causing FPS to drop over 20% after reset? Everyting is on the same place after reset, AI planes, objects, clouds... it's a mistery to me…

Am I frustrated? Efter update from XP (which was running FSX rather well on my not so hot system) I had a fast, nicelooking OS where all my apps and programs from XP including FSX were reinstalled and ran well. Then an AMD-update of the inboard sound drivers caused Win8 to chrash. So I did a clean reinstall of Win8, and all the other programs and apps from the WinXP days. Success for everything but: BUT FSX De Luxe will not install. It halts at the very end after fonts have been registered and during the registering of modules. The error message says that the install package doesn't work because a program in it did not end like it was expected to. Then I have …
