Just throwing this out there. It really is quite amazing when you think about it how all of these addons have to coordinate and talk to each other and not get in the way. FSX/P3D have to deal with its own issues not to mention a bunch of other programs trying to talk at same time. All this while it has old 32 bit code. Weather engine, Ground services engine, Scenery addons, Traffic addon, Air Traffic Control Addon, Moving Map Interface, VAFS, first officer addons, and aircraft that are far more advanced than I think Microsoft had ever imagined or intended, putting additional strains. etc etc. No Wonder it has a meltdown with CTD, OOM, freezing etc. Yet careful ma…

A few days ago I switched to Windows 7 from XP and therefore I had to reinstall FSX. When I entered the activation key it got rejected.A message said that I reinstalled FSX to often which surprised me as I was under the impression I could install it as often as I want. It is true that I reinstalled it quite often since I had computer problems, viruses etc which forced me to format and reinstall. Can anybody tell me what the situation is ? Thank you Hubert Werni

How do you change the baro setting on the G1000 in the Quest Kodiak by Lionheart Creations. I can only find click spots for the CRS on the CRS/BARO knob. Thanks Bruceb

Hi, after many years using without any problem, now I have this strange problem : I cannot move the aircraft to left or right when I'm on the ground (taxi), only during the flight. In the calibration procedure all seems ok, also after reset of parameters. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I was going to get the new Milviz F-86, when their AW109 caught my eye (I've been looking at helicopter payware lately). However, there don't seem to be any reviews online, and since I'm now debating between this and the F-86, I want to be sure that it's really good. I was adding some areas within the Scenery Library and somehow I have removed all of the titles from the Scenery area section. All of the sceneries are still installed but, the only way to tell what is installed and at what priority is to either, double click it or click it and then 'edit area'. Any ideas how to get the titles back please?

Hello, I purchased Opus this morning and I'm having trouble setting up the DHM, AHM effects in the camera views. I set All Aircraft types, click default view, tick DHM, and configure both DHM and AHM in the settings, set the button shortcut to a key, click save all cameras, but I still do not get the banking/turning/taxiing effects when I'm flying around. I've read through the manual but it's kind of confusing and I can't get my head around it. How can I set this up easily just for any/all aircraft that I have?

Hi there people. I use FSX Booster ATM which has helped a little but even with that now its starting to lag a little. Here are my specs: I was just wondering what the settings would need to be adjusted to in the game in order to keep quite good realism but at the same time make it run a lot more smoothly! Hello Guys ! I had to let FSX generate a new FSX.CFG files. I'm launching FSX, evreything seems to be okay, but Regardless of the A/C I'm selecting, hitting the start switch the Engine is cranking but doesn't starts. (Yes, fuel is okay magneto & all the rest are okay too) & From time to time I see for a split of a second the "Loading Bar", seems like it is loading something. weird. Any Ideas ??? Thanks Yair

You could make the FSX menu black and the menu bar black. It is too bright when flying at night. I would preference flying in full screen but my frames drop when doing this. Any thoughts or solutions?

If I am at ,say, Stansted (EGSS) and open up tools/traffic toolbox/explorer it shows all aircraft for miles around like EGLL as well. So is there a way to limit what is shown to just the airport ( or near enough)? I know the lists can be changed in order but as aircraft move so does the list update. Thank you

Hi, I bought Opus yesterday and today made a flight to test a low visibility landing. Before starting the flight i confirmed that the arrival airport had low visibility (0.1 miles), i couldn't see almost anything. So, i went to the departure airport and started the flight. As i was descending to land, i was inside a very nice overcast layer and couldn't see a thing, but when i was more or less 300ft AGL it cleaned up and i could see all the runway when i landed. No low visibility at all. I made this screenshot where we can see the low clouds, but no low visibility as the metar says. I hope someone can take a few minutes to read this post and understand my appeal for assistance. Here I'am finally settling into FSX mode, I'm not 100 percent there yet, but this is the longest I've ever kept the sim running on my machine. I'm a long time FS9 user. One of the greatest little programs I use in FS9, was developed by a fellow in Switzerland and its given me the ability to play some of my favourite songs while boarding and taxiing in FS9. But the .gau files will not work in FSX, despite my manipulation and attempt to force this program to work. Hi I only use default airport, but all PMDG planes are coming with latest Airac, which is only usefull if you using latest addon airport. Anybody know where i can get original defualt FSX airac for PMDG a/c, or a general fix for these addons that come with Airac that is out of tune with default FSX nav aids. THe probelms caused by this is lining up with runway tilted off at angle and all kinds of suprises that gets quite funny sometimes. PMDG and other addon developers should really supply their products with option to use default airac or latest. Ngx was fun to fly, but quite frankly i had much better time in default fsx 737 cause i was sure it saw …

I have FSX in it's own drive away from W7...now, i install opus(pay version) on my 3rd drive away from W7 and FSX....did install opus like in the manual said, but did not do the sharing and permission part and if I do how i I'm really lost on this one. I need to see a video...lol After running opus I got the same error message that was on the manual. After right clicking on the opus shortcut I got opus to run ...I used opus browser to locate fsx and now after that I get no more error message. So, my question is do I still have to do the sharing and permission part. I I'm getting beautiful weather from opus, but I dont know if im getting the full potential of opus…

I ended up disconnecting the Top Gun Afterburner then the autopilot takes the bus (330) into overspeed. So I have paused it now. It is my first real flight in this and I have everything in managed mode. What I am wondering is it kept a level altitude for about 20 minutes (35000ft) but the rest of the flight it wanders all over the place. I reset the calibration (and then recalibrated over and over again) the Top Gun Afterburner. I then disconnected it to see if the joystick was causing this fault or not. Hello all. I just purchase Vickers Viscount from Just Flight and I cannot start the bugger. I have no problems flying complex aircraft (PMDG 737 NGX, 4100 etc) but his guy simply won't start. I have tried following the manual but am not experienced enough to start vintage aircraft when the manual control/switch names do not match the names inside the cockpit. To make matters worst, even CTRL-E doesn't start it (and yes, there is enough fuel). Can anyone shed any light into this? Thanks in advance.

Today I did a restore point. after my beta drivers for Nvidia did not work for me, so I did a restore point. and suddenly the OPUS FSX server. stop working any idea how fix this problem?. A new "beta" version of SP2 has been released to the public. I've been flying with it and have to say it introduces some nifty features. My favorite of which is how overcast can be handled now and the new direct wind control (DWC) mode feature that lowers visibilty based on the cloud layer you're in. DWC has been Active Sky's strong point, and this new visibilty reduction in clouds makes for some true IMC experience. I'm still playing around with it, but this patch is a winner so far. AS2012 has offered the most realistic turbulence and wind effects, in my opinion. Now flying through clouds (IMC) feels much better. The un-official thread
