OK it's a deliberately cryptic title but it occurred to me whilst looking at developers screenshots for an upcoming scenery package. Over at FTX they're previewing work on the London Airports that will ship with the scenery. They look fine but as I live near Heathrow they got me thinking. The developer has faithfully reproduced the latest layout but I got to thinking about trips with my cousin to "The Queen Elizabeth building" which back in the 50's had a viewing gallery for the public to watch the privileged few who could afford air travel board their flights. I have all the Aeroworx S Africa scenery,mesh and LC installed.It is very nice but in the scenery there are grey road overlays in all the cities and urban areas.Any way to eliminate these?Thanks,Ron

Ok, Here's the thing. I uninstalled rex2.0 to make way to rex essential+. With essential+ now i can't seem to import the textures i select: i select the ones i want, then save and then install...but when i run fsx the textures "aren't there"...meaning that i can't see the ones i selected(sunrise, sunset etc) Thanks!

Hey guys, I'm looking for a project opensky 777-300ER with the glass gauges, but i can't find it anywhere. I have searched and downloaded most of the ones i could find on Avsim, Simviation and Fsfreeware, but non of them have the glass gauges. And a problem i have, that i was hoping you could help me with, when i zoom out inside the virtual cockpit, it wont let me zoom far enough out, so i am sort of sitting right in front of the autopilot panel. Is it possible in FSX to edit the function of switches so that one that is usually off when a model is first loaded can be changed to on when the aircraft is loaded instead? I don't think saving a flight with the desired settings is going to be a solution for what I'm trying to do. The reason is I am using AirTrafficFX to load AI aircraft. I would like to be able to control functions such as landing lights, nav lights, refueling drogues in or out, when the aircraft a loaded up. So for example if I loaded a plane to fly in formation with, I could choose if the plane had the nav lights on or off. I'm wondering also if there might be a software solution? Somethin…

I usually fly the default Cessna 172 but recently started flying the default Maul in Alaska scenery. In the Cessna, the switches on my GoFlight GF-TS will control the panel, nav, beacon, strobe and landing lights individually. However, in the Maul the lights all come on and go off with the landing light switch. The aircraft.cfg files appear to be similar regarding the light switches. Can anyone offer any suggestions for getting the switches to work the same on the Maul as they do on the Cessna.

Hello, I have recently purchased and installed Aerosoft's Las Vegas X and on my first flight to KLAS I noticed that all of the terminal buildings are missing?! The jetways are all there standing alone and not attached to anything because the terminals are gone!? The rest of the scenery package seems to be working great, although I haven't landed at any of the other airports included with the scenery yet. I had to disable the default FSX Las Vegas scenery after installing Las Vegas X because there were duplicate buildings place in the city such as two space needle buildings and two Luxors. Sorry if this has already been answered somewhere before. I am seriously looking at this program, but have a question (or two). Does Opus eliminate the old "Haze" problem where you get haze at around 5,000 and below and everything clears out above including ground level? Also i find that some other weather engines i have used, has affected my a/c (PMDG 737NGX). One affect in particular causing my engine thrust to continually vary. Especially at cruise alt. Thanks,

I was scanning some of the METARS from LiveATC and check out PBI Palm Beach. Here's the METAR: KPBI 151853Z 06009KT 10SM SCT034CB BKN048 BKN100 27/18 A3004 RMK AO2 RAB07E20 SLP171 CB OHD AND ALQDS MOV S P0000 T02670178 One thing I noticed that OPUS actually implements utilizing cloud types within the METAR. I booted up at PBI with my Cessna and took a few photos. The first picture was taken after OPUS was started. You can CLEARLY see that there is an Cumulonimubus cloud directly above and north in the distance. I haven't ever seen that before when I used ASE. I'm in the middle of re-installing and I've hardly got anywhere, just installed UTX USA as the first addon and I loaded up FSX but I am getting a black menu screen. This never used to happen to me before I had to re-install. I don't know what to do. I am using nvidia inspector settings and have the latest drivers installed for my GTX 580. Hi folks, I have just installed the iFLY 737 and have noted I need to set specific key assignments and also I will need to set up FSUIPC for the iFLY. Quick question as I am not doing anything until I have some clarification on this, do I set aircraft specific in FSUIPC for the iFLY so I can set the throttles and other things in FSUIPC as I have all my current aircraft and harware setup in FSUIPC. Now if I set aircraft specific does this mean I need to redo throttles etc for each iFLY version, 600, 700 etc? Whats the easiest setup, configure as many iFLY specific keys and then do throttles etc in FSUIPC for aircraft specific for iFLY? Many thanks in ad…

I was a long time ASX to ASE to AS2012 user until I tried the demo for OpusFSX and instantly loved how the wx engine depicted the weather. Once winds aloft is added OpusFSX will be, imo, the best wx engine FSX has seen to date. BUT...I have spent several days trying to get the camera shake effects to play nice with TrackIR 5, and I've given up and gone back to EZCA. My major gripes about the camera system: - overall the shaking effects were absolutely jerky and non-realistic for me. I tried several days of tweaking and tips suggested in the manuals/forums and still couldn't get smooth shaking effects. At one point during a flight the camera would shift left/righ…

What causes an airplane to bounce up and down at high altitudes with the autopilot? My F1 Mustang is unable to keep an altitude or climb now. The past 2 days it was perfect, now suddenly I cannot fly it anymore. This is using both AS2012 and Opus weather. Is it turbulence or wind or something else? Or is it just a problem with the airplane? How do I fix this? Thanks

Just to make sure and clarify, that unless I create a live camera or camera view that there is no way for me to get turbulence effects when running the OPUS weather engine correct?

Which one provides more accurate weather (now thats a subjective question)? I fly on Vatsim often. Thank you.

Where can I find a listing of the areas covered or specified by the global base scenery entries 0001 thru 1107? I may wish to not have certain entries load in the scenery cfg if I do not fly in that part of the world, for instance Asia. Thanks Dom

Hello. I'm new to FSX (but not new to flight sims in general) and I've recently picked up FSX Gold. I wanted to pick up some expansions and was hoping some of you folks could get me pointed in the right direction. What are some of the most commonly used expansions/scenery/addons that you feel alot of folks might consider almost a "Must have" for FSX? Scenery-wise, my "home base" area that I like to fly is the far west suburbs of Chicago, IL. Usually KARR or KDPA. FSX runs fine if I start a new flight, however whenever I try to load a saved flight the program successfully loads and I can hear all the sounds - but only my desktop on screen. I have tried switching with task manager and alt-tab - but no success. Any suggestions?

A question. After downloading weather in Rex Essential Plus, there are 4 toggle buttons that say, Radar, Storm, Turbulence, and Icing. Can they ALL be turned on? Seems you can click one and another goes off. I haven't been able to turn on Radar, Storm, and Turbulence at the same time. Is there a way to do this? Or is there a reason that you cannot do this? After several unsuccessful tries, I finally downloaded REX Essential Plus. I am a REX Environment Extreme user for my textures and clouds, but I used WEATHER with my wonderful Active Sky Evolution. My question is this: Now that Weather seems to load really fast with REP (because it didn't before), should I continue to use ASE for weather. I tried the REX weather, and I have to admit that I really liked the look of the weather. It was accurate and the clouds looked awesome. Should I continue to use ASE for the weather? Bought the Glowingheat/Virtavia/Aplhasim SR71 on sale last week. Interesting bird to fly, but the landings are killing me (literally) - on final, I just can't see the runway from either VC or 2D view as the angle of attack is so high, which results in impact with trees, 1000 fpm touchdowns, and so on. Anyone have a view setting recommendation that could help?

Would love a trackIR look around effect without cap or headgear needed. Be very cool to make a move gear lever jester and have the flaps change or even fly by holding both fists in front of me. Any news on this?
