Just fired up FSX in default Wine as of Ubuntu 12.10. FPS is just ok, running smooth around 15 FPS with my GTX 460. The Nvidia update seems to have fixed some issues. For ex. I remember vaguely the top panel to have been broken before and some other things. Still, for now I only want to fly with keyboard/mouse, I've problems looking around with the mouse. Any help someone?

Hi all, Thought I would re post this trick i found, Open your aircraft config file and copy paste the airline name over the ramp entry in the "atc_Parking_types" line. FSX atc should direct you to the proper airlines gate. You have to do this for every livery.

So today I was flying from Kansas city, to Denver Colorado. When I was flying and descending into Denver when I looked at the ground, and noticed that the ground was Summer green. And it's November?????????!??? If I didn't know I had it set to Fall november, you would think its july. It really makes me mad!!! I have GEX, and UTX installed. Is UTX the cause of this???

Hi Folks, I'm interested in starting to record videos of some of my flights in FSX particularly while flying the NGX and was wondering what would be the best of going about this and what sort of application would give me best results? I've thought about installing something like Fraps but never used it before and not sure if that's the way to go.

Yesterday I made a Flight. in Vatsim server, my Cruz. Altitude was set at Fl330.., and the panel of my Aircraft, showme. TAT -12C.. and -13C. normally at this altitude has to be around -45, -50C.. ( when I use AS or even the fsinn weather engine..) any ideas about this bugs.. how I have to configure the flight with OPUS and FSINN....? BTW this 40 bucks is one of the most worth it I did in my simulation life. lol. Thanks in advance... Marcelo

HI, I have a problem with ILS 12R course of MMUN (Cancun). In the new AIRACs the course is 124 but in the FSX's Map is 121. Is possible to change it? Thanks!

Hey, I currently have a little over 500 airplane addons installed in flight simulator x, many of which I use very infrequently. I was recently told by a computer expert that deleting these aircraft permanently is a bad idea because this may actually cause my system to crash. Is there a safe way to put any aircraft I am not using into temporary storage? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Downloaded and installed REX Essential Plus Over... whatever...!!! Took off near Vancouver for a short hop. Metar was BKN at 2200 ft and I really liked the despiction of low bank of fog. Went for an IFR in the cloud then out to return to the airport. The whole flight weather was very consistent with no abrupt change. Will definitely explore the others functions of the product ... I am still interested in buying this product - but due to a number of circumstances have yet to purchase it. (performance issues is one reason) With the advent of a 4th Beta Patch I am curious as to those who have made the plunge as to whether or not some of the lingering issues have been fixed. (From the small print I see some sound files have been updated). Has any refinement been made to increase performance ?

I thought I was experiencing the "flashing cloud"/disappearing and reappearing syndrome.. so I applied a flashing cloud fix from this thread: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/351572-flashing-clouds/ It basically mentioned changing a property in a file in the shaders folder in the fsx installation path.. then renaming the shaders folder in the user profile to rebuld it.. Is there any drawback to doing this? Just curious what others have found. Thanks

I used to have an Air Force One that had static Secret Service vehicles and agents when parked. I cannot find it. I did find a Posky one that said it had ground vehicles in the readme but they are not there. Does anyone have the filename and location for an AF 1 with the SS vehicles, etc? Thanks, Bob.

I finally got everything setup for my new REX textures, but they're not installing into the sim. I checked the sim folder and everything. Please help. This is very frustrating.

Hi all, As the title says I'm getting the wavy or wobbly scenery in FSX regardless of whether Vsync is on or off. I have a Geforce GTX 550Ti using driver 296.10 and setup via Nvidia Inspector with its frame limiter set at 30fps. I haven't always had this but I cannot think of anything I've done such as changes or new installs apart from updating FSDT's Couatl, that could account for it. Has anybody got any ideas, please? Good evening everyone, i have not posted on this forum for a considerable number of years and i used to frequent the screenshots forum! I have still been flying in FS for a long time however i am finally making the step to FSX. My current system i have had for several years but having just upgraded the graphics card, does this look like an acceptable system or will i run into problems? I have gone through all the tweaks and i am getting stable rates at FSDT LAX, Aerosoft EDDF and my UK2000 sceneries i have tested so far and comfortably running with the PMDG NGX at a cap of 30 fps. These results are all before i added any form of autogen and the textures are pretty similar…

I know I have posted like 2 billion topics here But I just have a question. I have a high end system (i5-2500K @4.4ghz gtx 560ti 8GBRam). One of my absolute FAVORITE things about FSX is the road traffic. Highway traffic. Everyone has been telling me "Oh turn it off!!!" "Fps killer!!!" Will it really affect the performance (studders, frames, smoothness) that much if I turn it on? Not to 100%, but just a little bit, like 20% or so.

I've had this problem before, but can't find the solution nor a relevant search result here. Can anyone help...? Ezdok is no longer starting up with FSX. This happened after a the system crashed. As I recall from previous times, it's usually about a corrupt 'EXE.XML' file, but reinstalled twice and also tried manually entering the data. Just bought Opusfsx yesterday so I'm fairly new to it, so please forgive me if this is a newbie question. First of all I'm very, VERY satisfied with the product, it blows other WX engines out of the water. I love how I can look out my window at the weather outside then load dynamic weather in FSX and boom, there it is, almost perfectly modeled. Now the only thing that I'm slightly confused about is the static themes. I'm trying to set up a saved flight to practice low visibility ILS in thick fog. I loaded up the "fogged in" theme, and I'm using REXe+ clouds. The top of the fog looks great, but as I descend through it (around 2.5k) the ground pops out and I can see th…

Retrieving the default view in 2D cockpit so that the view is as it was? Does anyone know how to do this please? It's easy in the VC view just by pressing the shift key but the 2D view is problematic. Any advice please?
