Hello, There comes a time when I also need help. I'd like to know if anyone else has noticed this. When I load the fair weather, a 40,000ft cirrus layer is created. When seen from the ground, depending on textures installed, will look like this: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/31158446/cirrus.jpg If my cloud visibility distance is set to 90mi, all is fine. But if I set it to 110mi, I get the above picture. The problem is that the clouds are kind of cut off on the far edge. Maybe not clearly visible on the static picture, but definitely visible when panning around aircraft. Also noticed that if I climb, the effect will disappear, or also put the layer even highe…

Hi Could someone please help me by telling me how I can assign a joystick button to activating TOGA? I have FSUIPC - but can't seem to find a command for TOGA in the list of actions. Thanks Martin

I just did a reinstall of FSX and thought I'd play through FSX (the game) and complete all the missions. Just finnished the Loopy Larry mission today - it took me a while. Actually I'm hooked, and most of the misions are quite good IMHO. Anyone else played the game, or are all AVSIM'ers just die hard wannabe pilots?

Any AI Tool for FSX that work for win8 yet?

It's hard to click on the little "-" and "+" controls on the GPS. Is there a way to get the GPS to zoom in and out using keyboard shortcuts?

One thing that interests me is how much variety there is amongst what we do preflight. Some like to do complex flight planning, fuel planning etc, some like to start from cold and dark, some like to start on the runway ready to fly, so please share your preflight routine so we can all gain some tips and inspiration! I have just bought this package with 2 dvd and I read that it is necessary to activate the game trough the internet. I have bought a new pc capable of playing this game and it that will be delivered next week. This evening, upon registrering in this forum, I have read an article that Microsoft has ended support for fsx from September 18th. So, the question is: Is it still possible to activate fsx via internet next week or not?? I was going to buy a good joytick and pedals but I am wondering if it will be lost money if I can not activate fsx. I haven't actually flown the C337, but looking at the cruise performance tables the POH looks like it's organized much the same as the C172 POH which I know very well. What I can't see in the "POH" as supplied by Carenado are the take-off and climb time / distance / fuel-burn numbers, which in the C172 POH are started in a single table by true cruise altitiude. Does anyone have access to this table from the real aircraft? I am thinking of creating my own by measuring time/distance and fuel burned on a standard day, however thought I would ask here first. Hi All, I have been working on this problem for a couple of weeks now and could really use some expert advice. I have the Aerosoft airbus addon, but unfortunately I never really fly it. There are a few reasons for this: It doesnt currently include sid and star capability (will come with extended) It doesnt support my normal configuration of my peripherals (yoke, rudder, throttle quadrand) through FSUIPC, and you need to run a seperate peripheral configuration application to make them work (somewhat). I dont like flying with a joystick (and I have enough cables around my sim as it is) So I have a couple of questions: Will the extended version work more like the NGX (out of the box) in regards to peripherals? Hey guys, I just started using DXtory to record. And It is very very good. Im just wondering what a good file type would be. Im going to start recording some long flights probably about an hour long clip. And I want to know which file type will keep my quality and frames HIGH, while keeping the file size LOW. So this question is to any big time screen recorders on the forums. Right now I am using this Video codec in DXtory. -Ut Video Codec yuv420 (ULY0) VCM x86 Along with these settings. -Frame rate set to 30 fps -File Output checked -Avi file format I dont know, maybe rawcap might be a better option, haven't tested it yet.

Inquiring mind wants to know.... So far since I've switched from fs9 to fsx months ago, I could not complete an auto ILS landing on Level D B767. I've tried it on fsdream HNL on 4R, default Cancun on 12 and Imaginesim Changi on 2C. It will not follow glide slopes. Same thing with fsdream KLAS on 25L using PMDG B737ngx. Now some airports are fine freeware or payware and using PMDG B747 and Aerosim B787. Or sounds like pilot error on my part.....? Thanks Kin M.

Hi guys, I was just wondering what would happen if two people were playing multiplayer, but one person didn't have the aircraft that the other person was using (e.g. my friend doesn't have the NGX, so what would he see if I flew it on multiplayer?). Also, what would happen in the same scenario, but if we were sharing the aircraft? I want to know because I'm planning on doing a flight in the NGX with my friend where I'm flying and he's a passenger. ^_^ I just want to make sure it's actually possible.

Hi all! please forgive my exasperate tone but I really am at a loss. This morning I run the windows calibration utility fo my saitek x52 and after that, for some reason the throttle has stopped working properly. It now gets stuck (sometimes straight away, sometimes after a couple of seconds) around 50% and doesn't respond to imputs (it moves slightly but then it resets to that awful 50%. It looks like something is defaulting the throttle to that position as I've tried assigning other axes to it and it still does the same. Works fine with keyboard. When calibrating through FSUipc the axis management sees the throttle but the calibration utility just keeps flickerin…

I just got the PMDG 737 and though I haven't had the time to read the manual (and I've never used an FMS before today), I was easily able to get it to autoland on IFR approaches. My question is, would it be possible to automate the entire flight? Landing this plane is pretty automatic - the plane flares and touches down by itself and autobrakes and armed spoilers stop it without pilot intervention. So here are my specific questions: 1. Is there a way to automate takeoff? On stock FSX planes you can just set the autothrottle and engage the altitude hold and the plane will rotate and take off (without stalling if you're lucky). I have an ASUS computer using Win 7 Home Edition. I use it only for flight sim. I have FS2004 which runs very smoothly. However, recently FSX has begun to stutter on and off. I do not think it is my sound card since FS2004 runs well. Would reinstalling the FScfg file help? Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks. Stanner

I know this has been discussed before as I have search though numerous threads on this matter. I would like to know, of those in the US, if their sim changed from Daylight Savings time along with windows. For some reason my sim is still observing DST time, meaning one hour behind real time. This is something normal for me, this happens each time the clocks change, the only way seems to be a re-installation of everything, and that is not a task i'd like to undertake. I have tried FSrealtime, re-installed ultimate traffic. I am out of ideas, maybe a reinstall may be the only way. Although before stepping to that measure, I am here for advice.
