Hi All Recently bought a new rig for FSX (see spec) and have configured my machine and FSX installation as per Word Not Allowed's guide. I am having trouble with blurry textures which I thought I'd seen the last of! I wasn't expecting this to be an issue under FSX. Altogether I'm pretty underwhelmed about my graphical performance on the new machine The pic below shows what I mean - it should be obvious from the pic what the problem is. Is this normal, even on high end machines with overclocked CPU? hi, I gues it is the wrong place to ask my question but I could not find the right one... I downloaded Jesse Kempa's virtual E6B from the IVAO web site but infortunately it does not accept . I'm looking for a quick and simple method of identifying which keys (and key combinations) are assigned to FSX functions and which are free (unassigned). Is there a utility program available that can read the appropriate files (fsx.cfg and standard.xml I believe), and then present a table and/or list of this controls assignment information in an organized and easy to read format? I'm wanting to buy a Lancair. I've looked at Orbx's and RealAir's versions. Both look like really solid options and I probably can't go wrong no matter which one I choose. I'm looking for opinions for those who own both. Which is the better option as far as features, flight modeling, hits to frame rates, etc. Thanks, Dave

After trying out the demo a few days ago I purchased OpusFSX and I am extremely happy with it. The software has really enhanced my enjoyment of weather within FSX so I thought I would come here and write a thank you to the developers for OpusFSX. There are many features I like about OpusFSX but the one that really sticks out for me, apart from the great weather, is how quickly the program starts up and inserts weather into a flight. No more waiting round :smile:. In addition I am impressed with the service and support provided by the developers - Cheryl and Stephen. Today I had a flight from LHBP (Budapest) to LQSA (Sarajevo) and just before TOD (75 miles from LQSA) i select from Add-on menu 'Load Dynamic Weather'. After that I check LQSA ATIS and it reported 'Visibility=2' (fog). When I was about 50 miles from LQSA I again clicked 'Load Dynamic Weather' and ATIS reported 'Visibility > 20miles'. On 25 miles from LQSA again: 1. 'Load Dynamic Weather'. 2. 'Visibility > 20miles'. And finally after landed: 1. 'Load Dynamic Weather'. 2. 'Visibility = 2 miles' - fog again. I have had the A319 by IFDG for some time and for some reason when flying at altitude the wing vapour trails appear at 90 degrees from where they should be. They appear directly above and below the centre of the aircraft instead of at the wing tips! Does anyone know how I can change this please?

Ok so here is the deal, I had a previous install of fsx on here and all was well. Then something got corrupted in that install so I uninstalled it and did a fresh install again. Now if I load the default 172 I get no gauges. The gauges are in the Gauge folder and are listed in the fsx.cfg file. half the default planes do not work and the only gauges that do work are ones installed in the planes panel folder. I have not patched fsx yet as it is broken right now. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it 2 times now with no luck and it also wont ask me to activate it. The last install I loaded a addon plane into it a Citation X that I know worked well before the fsx corrup…

Hello Iam having a problem with aircraft names ,When starting up I get a message regarding aircraft with the same name,when this was one Aircraft no real issue just click to close then on we go with start up, Now after adding new Aircraft or aircraft with diff textures I have to click through about 16 aircraft before it starts up ,also when I want to change aircraft/Texture the same problem ,having to Click through the names ,its a pain ,so does anybody have an answer to this problem ,What do i alter to sort this out,I have also exp this in FSX many thanks for reading any help gratefully received peter

I have FSX for about 3 years now and have enjoyed it very much. I have installed it several time as I change computer and or hard drive. Lately I got a bad virus and I had to format my drive and reinstall everything. This time as I install FSX, MS won't accept the product key, the message is that I have install FSX to many time. I call MS to report that and they told me that they no longer support FSX and to go on there forum and see if I will get some help. So far nothing. Any idea how I can resolve this without buying FSX again? I would greatly appreciate it. Tom from Toronto

I've used FS Real Time for years, no problems. Just lately, its been acting wierd, sometime working, sometimes not. On occasion it shows UTC and Local times as 0:00 31/12/1999 regardless of what is set as the time and date in FSX. FS Real Time says FSUIPC connected, but the time does not reflect what is in FSX. I do not use any of the offset settings. I just Connect to FS. Each time this happens it takes over an hour of frustration, reinstalling FS Real Time, FSUIPC (usually multiple times), retrying, deleting FSUIPC from "trusted" in FSX cfg so it can rebuild, restaring computer, etc, until finally it works and I get the correct FSX time. I got a Java script error message when trying to open the DC-3 Airways site, and it only happens at that site. It locks up my computer and I'm forced to reboot it.. It first appeared when trying to enter the 2012 World Rally page. I don't know where the problem lies, but I've been unable to contact their senior staff to determine if it is a local glitch or somewhere in my system. Can anyone suggest a possible resolution ? Hello All I'm looking to purchase Multi Crew Experience Lite to interract with the FSX's ATC. However, I have a slight concern regarding the read back of taxi intructions. Whilst taxiing out from the parking gate at airports such as Palma and Nice, ATC has issued me with an horrendously long list of taxi-way instructions to follow to get to the active runway, which, using the default ATC system isn't really a big deal. My question is how do you cope with such a long list if you have to verbally read every taxi-way ??? Regards Gary

Where clouds intersect with mountains, there is a terrible flickering along the edge of the cloud/mountain. I have tried changing cloud textures and playing with video card setting but I can't get it to go away. This problem is epecially visible from a distance, above or below the mountains. Closer up the jiggling/flickering stops. Specifically it is the white cloud texture that jiggles like jello along the mountain edge. I have already tried the "SwarmClouds" fix to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi guys, Sorry to bother you with more little problems, but lately (and I don't know if it's because of the newer Betas) I've been having alot of problems using Track IR with Opus. It starts out completely smooth, but after a few seconds it starts to get jerky when panning around. If I open up the configure menu it goes back to being smooth for a short time and then gets jerky again. I've tried playing with the settings in Opus to no avail. If I disable Track IR in Opus and use it independently it's completely smooth and normal. Of course then I can't use the DHM effects because if I do then I get that violent shaking effect. Please help.

Having problems setting up DHM effects and save profiles for each individual AC. The way things are now I have to setup the profiles manually everytime I change aircraft. The DHM really confuses me. Tried to save i.e profiles for RV7 in DHM making It light aircraft, and another for catalina x setting it as heavy aircraft with different DHM settings, but it won't save the setting when i change I get the same profiles for booth, can't get the settings to stick with the aircraft. Sorry if my explanation is confusing, read the manual several times but cant get it right. Would be nice to have a step by step guide howto do this, the manual is really confusing. This is getting …

Hi All, Is there any way to make the airport rotating beacon brighter from a greater distance (and brighter?)- it seems like most of the airports are not findable using their beacons, and when conducting night-VFR-cross country training, this leads to some navigation problems. Anyone have any ideas about what to tweak, addons, etc?

Um, I seem to be stuck in windowed mode. Been using the sim for a long time over the years, and somehow, while fooling around with second monitor, extended desktop and moving panels around, I seem to have gotten stuck. The sim has the "Flight simulator X" frame across the top, and the taskbar across the bottom. When I hit alt=return, I just get a black screen with a portion of the desktop showing on the right. Alt=ctrl-return, it takes me back to the full screen window with the sim in it. I think it happened while undocking windows, but cant seem to undo it. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
