Sorry if this is not the place to post this, but I've tried the REX website forums and the last time anyone responded to a question was back in September. Normally, I never have any trouble with add-ons, and I can figure things out. But this one has me stumped. I have FSX Gold installed (but not acceleration) and REX ESsential. REX seems to load OK, weather gets processed (although it takes forever), and FSX launches. However, after that, I'm not sure if all is well. The little weather radar screen comes on, and FSX loads behind it. FSX takes off ('user defined weather' is checked), but nothing more happens with the weather radar; in fact, I can't find it. Hello Avsim! (This is the first time I post something on the forum, please correct me if I'm doing something wrong.) I've searched all around the internet, searching if someone has a similar problem. I thought I would post this question here on the FSX Avsim fourm. I haven't heard anything in a long time about this simulator. I've looked on their fourms and haven't even seen a place to ask about this. I remember there was a huge section on this topic a while ago that had archives but that's either not there or I just missed it. So as of today Oct 23 2012 AD do we know anything on this sim or did it fail before it was even built? Ok I searched the forum and I am probably doing something wrong here. I just did a couple of flights with Opus and overall it was right on the money with the exception of visibility. I then found an aiport with 6sm vis and it still showed 48000 meter vis but all the other weather loaded correctly. Anyone know why it's not updating my vis. Thanks 3W

Hi there, I've tried everything I can think of. I have a new laptop with the Nvidia 630M with optimus Technology along with an integrated Intel HD4000. The software is being forced to use the Nvidia 630M in the Nvidia control panel and I've also even tried to select the Nvidia when right clicking on FSX to launch it but since I installed Acceleration which has the 2nd patch, it seems to always revert to the Intel Integrated card no matter what I do. It used to say in the graphics settings Nvidia 630M before I installed Acceleration and now it just says Intel Integrated... Any ideas on how to fix this? I've tried rebuilding the fsx.cfg by deleting it with no lu…

Hi, I have been running Windows 8 RTM since it was released to IT Pros but I am having serious issues with the blurries on FSX. I have an i5 @ 4Ghz, 4GB RAM, SSD, GTX560Ti but yet I can't get it running as well as I had it on Windows 7. Anyone else experiencing the same? I'm sure somebody somewhere is using Win 8 with FSX. I'm not sure if there is something restricting the loading of textures but they seem to pop into view blurred and then refocus very slowly into a sharper texture. Running the latest drivers from nvidia too. UAC and Smartscreen disabled, FSX at the root of C: Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello everyone, I need some help with Project Airbus A380. PROBLEMS: - BLACK TEXTURE on autopilot, - Black screen on MCDU - Black buttons on MCDU (NO KEYS on every button) I am running FSX Gold Edition, but Project Airbus A380 is only for FS2004 users. With 1000s of $ spent on addons since the FS2002 days I have learned one thing: Very few addons are worthy of my hard earned cash. My idea of a quality aircraft addon is one that: 1) looks fine (photorealistic), cockpit being more important to me since I never use exterior views; 2) flies by the numbers; 3) feels/handles right (very subjective, but A2A f. ex. knows how to make things "feel" right); 4) sounds like the real thing (probably where most aircraft fall short); 5) has a large degree of real aircraft systems simulated (at least make buttons and switches clickable); 6) includes authentic checlists and a decent tutorial/manual explaining how to operate th…

So I downloaded a free version of atlanta a while back and it's great. In particular the scenery has the international terminal, commuter terminal, and new runway included. With the new scenery out now I was wondering before purchasing if someone can answer me some questions. The first and most important is that I am wondering if these features are included in the paid version. Well actually that's my only question. If I start fsx acceleration then a openingsscreen appears from another game. I want to get rid of it but dont know where to search. The game itself I had removed it i.e uninstalled. there were a few other places where the game was located such as downloadsector etc. all removed went to the regedit and removed all. I also did the repair fuction of fsx i removed the cfg file etc. the only place where the openingscreen comes up is fsx i tried also fsx exe from the root the fireup but the same any idea where i can search more?

Yesterday , on a couple flights the winds at destination were completely off. Out of 5 or so flights 3 had winds at destination almost 180 degrees off. I use the PMDG NGX, Aivlasoft EFB reporting noaa weather observations. I am using the 2.28.5 beta with default weather settings (transition altitude 60,000 and recovery at 0) . I also checked the "relax wind smoothing box" in the weather dialog with the same results. For instance flying into KMCI , the reported wind was 175 @ 11, yet on decent and landing and even on the ground I was getting 334@9, almost the exact opposite. Once on the ground if you open the weather dialog and simply hit "ok" everything reverts to normal.…

Hi all, First time poster so hopefully this is in the right place (wasn't sure if it would be better in the SimConnect forum). I recently purchased FSX Gold via the Games for Windows Marketplace, which meant I got it as a download, not physical disks. Installed and works perfectly. I'm now wanting to add an AI Traffic Builder, and believe I need the FSX Acceleration SDK to do this. I've checked the FSX Program Files folder and cannot see an SDK sub-folder. As I don't have physical disks does anyone know how I can get the correct SDK's loaded? I think I need FSX SDK, then the FSX Acceleration SDK loaded on top. Any help appreciated, and hope this is…

Hi, I have a couple of questions for owners of the Real Air Turbine Duke. I've had the piston Duke since its release, and I love it. It's my favorite piston twin and I fly it quite often. One of the things I like about the piston Duke is I can run it with FSX SP1 only. I use SP1 because of my use of Tileproxy--SP1 just offers a smoother experience. First question--is there anyone flying the Turbine Duke with just FSX SP1? Second question--which engine is modeled? I understand that there are two HP options for the real Turbine Duke. I've loaded up on AI airline packages and am enjoying AI after being with FS since the Bruce Artwick days - it's really fun when there's no VATSIM ATC where I want to fly. I've noticed that none of the boats or ferries are running nor are the Acceleration aircraft carriers. I tried reducing AI aircraft traffic, road and airport vehicles, GA aviation, etc. to zero and pumped up the ships and ferries slider to 100%. Is there a way to resolve the issue without having to uninstall all of my AI aircraft in order to have the boats? Windows7, i7 cpu, ATI7700/1GB, 8GB RAM ...hoping, Barry,. KSAN
