Flying this excellent aircraft, which can be found in the AVSIM library, I'm noticing fuel consumption figures opposite of expected. With a midrange fuel & payload weight, she's burning nearly 13,000 PPH (per engine) at FL300. However, at FL380 she's burning over 17,000. Anyone else seen this? Any quick fix ideas?

I know there is a FSE forum but I prefer here for the time being. Picking an airport to leave from is easy. Finding a plane is ridiculously hard, unintuative and limited. First choice I want is my PBY-6, its rare and hard to find at a location you want so I've given up on that plane. Which saddens me. Second choice, I pick a Beaver and get WARNING: This aircraft is prohibited from commercial operations until repairs have been made. Please fly to the nearest Repair Station and have your aircraft serviced. Renters are not authorized to make repairs. Been searching for 30min now and can't figure out how you find Repair Stations. Finally find the FBO Map th…

So tonight I was bringing in my NGX to Flytampa Boston Logan Int. V3, when right at touchdown, the wheels sank into the ground. Then the wheels can off the ground, then back into the ground. This happened like 4 times, then FSX stopped and said "CRASH!" and restarted the flight. But I also noticed that the contrails from the wing were bright white.... I dunno. The landing was pretty hard.. and I didn't know I had the crash settings enabled. Is this an ERROR? Or is it supposed to happen? Screenie of the incident.

  6. I mean it. I'm not trying to be rude in any way, point fingers, shout anyone down, etc. of that sort. I understand if your computer has a legitimate performance issue and us at the forum are always willing to hand out advice. Please feel free to tell us about it! But please, keep things nice and don't get mad, especially at us (I've seen this so many times). FSX is a complex system that is very buggy because it has had no further updating since Acceleration (Unless you count Prepar3d as one, which I don't). FSX, even on high end machines, has many hundreds of things to calculate at any given second. Here's a list of SOME of the calculations just to give an idea of what FS…

  7. I am not sure of the correct terminology - where we shift our 'eye point' up and down, forwards and backwards, and left and right. I'd like to assign those to my Saitek Yoke buttons, the ones that go left-right, up-down, etc, on top of the yoke handles. I can do it using EZdoc, but I've fallen out with Ezdoc and no longer use it, so is there a way to get that functionality by assigning switches, perhaps in FSUIPC, but to which variables? Many thanks, Phil

HI all. Today I fly to Hong kong and see that the taxiway is covered by grass (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/255/vhhhfsx.jpg/). It only happens in certain area of the airport and in certain view angle. I am using imaginsim VHHH and I have already tried to remove REX high res grass. Any more ideas on this problem? Thanks. ,

  10. Hello, I am having trouble understanding the altitude restrictions and altitude ceiling on the VTU5 SID at KLAX. (http://155.178.201.160/d-tpp/1210/00237VENTURA.PDF) Let's say I were to use the VTU.RZS transition. If I were to read this right, it basically says, after takeoff from let's say Rwy 24L, maintain heading 250 and stay below 3000 ft. You will then receive vectors to VTU VOR after which you will navigatee to RZS. My questions: 1. What is the altitude restriction at VTU on this chart? Will ATC be assigning this? 2. Will ATC vector me again to RZS after passing VTU? 3. What would the altitude restriction at RZS be? 4. What does the "6000" betwee…

After installing FSX anew the instruments in the 3D cockpit are flickering and difficult to read unless zoomed in closely. Consequently I’m obliged to fly in 2D mode. Additionally the Airline name is blurry when viewing the outside of the aircraft and the resolution of the aircraft itself is unsharp. My setup is set out below: Windows 7 Speed 2.13 GHZ Available physical Memory 2.19 GB Available Virtual Memory 5.14 GB Video card : Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS Graphics Screen resolution 1280 X 1024 X 32 Filrering : Bilinear Anti Aliasing : Ticked Global Texture resolution : M…

  13. Hi everyone I'm wondering if some kind soul would be able to send me the Hongdu JL-8 / K-8 Karakorum light attack jet package (apparently contains model and many repaints) that was created by GMAX Académie. The owner of that site parked it up well over a year ago (http://gmax-ac.fr/index.php), so it's no longer available publically, although their forum is now active again (in French). A Venezuelan [?] guy was also working on a model, but never released anything that I can find (http://hangarcerouno.blogspot.com/20...-la-forma.html), and I've searched many times everywhere else! Can anyone help me? Cheers and many thanks, Nangua (南瓜)

I installed FSX from retail discs and have been running it for a while now. Today I needed to edit my FSK.cfg. to install an add-on program for the sim but I found that I don't have a FSX.cfg file. I never had reason to access it before and for all I know it was never included in the initial installation. Either that, or somewhere along the way, it got deleted. Any ideas on how to get it back without reinstalling FSX? Thanks for any help, __JimR

What's the story with this and how does it compare to FSX (or FS9 for that matter)? I'm not finding any real reviews on this offering but I swear that 777 VC looks exactly like Posky's VC (and these guys are charging for it). REMOVED THE LINKS. NO POINT IN GIVING THEM ADVERTISING.

Hi all, just would like to see if someone could give me some advise on Ultimate Terrain X (Europe), I have had this for quite a while and it was, is working and looking awesome but sometimes it can look blurry during a session and the next session it can be crystal clear and crisp, confused. The other question is can someone give me some advise on adjustment settings for flattening, slope and offset settings that can be adjusted in the advanced section of the setup tool box. Cheers Rod.

I recently purchased from PC Aviator MegaSceneryEarth GrandCanyon thinking that it was an addition, some sort of overlay, to MSE Arizona which I had purchased from them 6 weeks ago. When I opened the file I noticed that it contained Arizona 002,003,007 and 008 which I already had. I then sent them an e-mail saying that the product info page did not clearly specify that MSE GrandCanyon was part of MSE Northern Arizona and suggesting to correct this. Today I received an e-mail from PC Aviator saying that they were sorry for the confusion and that they were refunding my purchase. These guys are really top notch as I did not ask them for a refund because I could have a…
