I am currently in the middle of an FSX re-install, right now I am installing the addons. My old fsx ran great, never any issues with the limiter. But I am having a problem with it right now, basically the one I used to use (http://forum.avsim.n...al-fps-limiter/) and trying to use again now gave me a minimum limit of 30 fps, it would try not to go below that wherever I went but COULD go higher. However now when I type in 30 in the antilag file and go into fsx to try it, it only gives me 30fps on unlimited, nothing higher when before it would give me higher fps. I know this sounds strange but when I get into things like the NGX, it really helped how it would try not to go …

Okay. Very strange and I am hoping someone can help me. I am loading into FSX now, and my fps are litterally 0.1 [from 30]. Something is not right. I have done an intel burn test, passed with flying colours. Any suggestions? Alex Windows 7 GTX 670 I5 2500k Could it be the hdd? 22/11/12 EDIT Does this look normal?

Hey guys, I'm having this issue from time to time, specially in busy airports. After I get the "you are some miles away, expect vectors ILS...." message from ATC, it vectors me away from the airport and eventually cancels my IFR plan. Any ideas about what I can do about it?

Have been getting introduced to the world of FMC programming using the JB 777 incredible freeware panel. One question arises. After entering a flight plan, will the LNAV and VNAV functions actually land the aircraft or do you have to break away from the flight plan (and the FMC) and manually land the aircraft?

Your Thought's and opinion's please. Is this package worth the money required? For the money, I would expect PMDG quality.

I have downloaded a photo scenery for home airport VABB, so the whole scenery would look flat, I the shapefiles for my country and extracted Natural / Buildings / Points and ran them through scenproc but which created the .agn files and put those files in the texture folder of my Addon Scenery which also contains the photoscenery of my airport but I do not see any difference. Anyone tried the shapefiles in FSX ?

Hello All, after a complete reinstall of FSX under Win 8 with all associated addons back up and running, I now have the problem where after a time of flying (10 minutes or so), my USB controllers (CH Flight Sim Yoke, CH Throttle Quadrant, and Saitek rudder pedals) all die. I went into control panel and set things so that the computer never goes to sleep, and I also changed the USB selective suspend setting to disabled. I have all of my USB controllers plugged directly in to the rear of my computer, so there are hubs to worry about. Any ideas? Thanks!! Paul

Hello, I've recently downloaded the new REX. My textures are not appearing in the program and my main folder is incomplete. Any help?

FSX itself is a fantastic software. But there are just so much out of the box. I was wondering what are some of the FSX or FS addons and softwares you guys are using along with your flights? Some are for functional use (voice command addon etc..) And some are for visual enhancements like sceneries. I'm relatively new to the FS world and I'm sure many of you fellow AV simmers out there have like a bunch of addons that you can't live without! Say you have a new desktop and a fresh & clean install of FSX. What are some of the addons that you would straight away have installed like it should have been with FSX? Do share! Cheers! Dug up this topic from April of 2002! 10 Years ago discussing the virtual cockpit and the 2D http://forum.avsim.net/topic/7522-can-we-revisit-the-virtual-cockpit/ 3D cockpits were a feature only as of fs2004, so I'm sort of confused... Just keep the NGX virtual cockpit in mind when reading this! Haha .

Hello, after sometime of using my FSX I discovered that actually I have a weird problem. The problem appears on my PMDG MD11 and 737NGX. Minutes after take off, parts inside the cockpit are getting transparent! I will be more precise. I see properly all the NDs, the PFDs and all other instruments, but around them everything is transparent. I see the ground! The same happens on the upper panel. I see all the buttons and switches and the rest is all the night sky with stars! The strange thing about this, is that happens ONLY when I select night time or late afternoon time from the FSX main menu. Selecting daytime everything works perfect. I posted this same post in the…

Recently I went from the HDD to an SSD and the performance is great. I also moved FSX to the 128GB ssd as well so that it loads faster. I would like to know how to fix errors that pop up everytime I start FSX that do with add on scenery not being in the scenery.cfg. I get a message like this: Local scenery directory (G:\Games\FS10\...\FlyTampa) in scenery area.129 not found. I looked at the scenery.cfg multiple times and did not find that entry. I have installed it correct, I think, but nothing is different in FSX. I also tried several different people's configurations, none seem to work. I must be doing something wrong then :( Any ideas?

Hi all I'm contemplating a fresh install of FSX as I am having serious CTD issues that I've been as yet unable to address. These are the addons I have/am getting and was wondering if there's a particular order I should install them in? Does the OPUS LWE incorporate wind gusts? I flew into Oklahoma City with the winds being: KOKC 222152Z 20018G23KT 10SM FEW180 SCT250 23/12 A2992 RMK AO2 PK WND 19026/2141 SLP122 T02330117 When I was on approach I didn't an particular sudden wind shifts. Seemed my aircraft and sim was only reacting to the 200/18. Does wind gusts show up when using OPUS?

Thanks for providing the GRIB Winds Aloft data as a quasi Thanksgiving present, much appreciated. When I first upgraded to 2.60 the GRIB data stamp was November 22nd at 1200 zulu. That was about 3-4 PM Pacific time US. When I closed the sim the GRIB data was current for November 22nd at 1800 zulu at about 11:30pm or so Pacific US. upgrade to 2.60.1. At 6:02 AM November 23rd Pacific time US the time stamp says November 22nd at 12:00 zulu. Is that referring to 12pm or midnight zulu time? It's current 2pm zulu time, shouldn't the GRIB data have updated by now? I remember reading in the initial GRIB data sticky on FLIGHT1 that it's not updated as often as North America b…

I'm new to FSX and in the process of getting my system set up properly. I've been doing alot of reading and research, and following Word Not Allowed's wonderful guide. I had a question regarding VSYNC.... Most of the information I read assumes you have a standard monitor refresh of 60Hz, thus will show up to 60 FPS, and thus it seems common to lock your FPS at 1/2...or 30 FPS. What if you've got a refresh of 120Hz, and thus will show up to 120 FPS. Should I lock my FPS at 1/2 of that...or 60 FPS? Or should I stick with the lock at 30 FPS anyway? Thanks!

I'm looking for something to buy for FSX. I can only buy one thing and the limit on cost is $100. I want some suggesstions on what there is to buy that I don't already have, or whether I should wait for something (other than the 777X or Airbus Extended or FSL Airbus, I already have money saved just for them :rolleyes: ). Recently did a reinstall of Windows 7 (because Windows 8 is terrible!) Installed my unwrapped version of Opus (back in August) Uninstalled it again without deleting the c:\opusfsx directory Installed the Upgrade to 2.50.6 Mode of operation is still Demonstration Mode; I've copied the .key and .lic file to c:\opusfsx Where should I put it?

I'm getting a lot more serious about flight simulation lately, and since I've always been using vanilla FSX, I think I'd like an upgrade. The C172 is the main choice for me, but I know that most FSX's default aircraft aren't the best. Is the default C172 fine (especially in the flight dynamics), or would an add-on prove quite better?
