Hi A few months ago my wife got me FSX for a present. I've had FS9 running for years. So I was happy to go for the new version. I installed it and got two addons-secnery and aircraft. I noticed FSX takes a long time to load. Then I read somewhere that FSX should not go in C\Program files. So I uninstalled and and put it in D\FSX The install went ok, registration code, etc etc. Then SP1 and 2. The first thing I noticed -there was no desktop icon. So I started it from inside the FXX folder. It started running and building the scenery index. Then I got a window saying- Flight simulator needs at least an airport, VOR or NDB to run ...and will now close! My OS is Wi…

Call home installers for addons that hit an activation limit and the vendor drags their heels in resetting them. I've just sent this message to Captain Sim: I'm most miffed that they have apparently just ignored me :angry: Why oh why place a limit of three IP addresses or PC setups before an order number is locked? Surely there's a better way! As we all know resetting a locked order number with Flight 1 is a piece of cake and takes only a minute or two. Last year I found one of my (older) Real Air installers had become locked and Rob Young reset all my installers within 24 hours. Hi all, I am a cockpit builder and I wonder if OpusFSX can be used to make a 3 x 2D panoramic view of 210 deg. FOV using 3 PC's. So just scenery and all full screen. My present configuration is: - 1 PC + TH2Go + 3 x (1280x800) short throw projectors + 3 x 87" flat screens (the side screens making an angle of 110 deg. with the centre screen). - 3 “undocked” 2D FSX views (on top of the base view), 70 degrees each (total VOF=210 deg.) - FSX screen resolution: 3840 x 800 pixels, 32 bit, full screen mode. Hi there. I want to make an appeal to any all freeware or payware developers out there to create a Boeing 314 clipper for FSX.There is a freeware one by Mike Stone that's been converted to work in FSX, but it doesn't have a VC and the panel is very basic.I already have some fantastic freeware vintage aircraft made by Jens Kristensen for FSX, and I hope the Boeing 314 is on his list of projects.If anyone else is interested in having a realistic FSX model of this aircraft then please chime in.Thanks a lot.Dave

I've got a fairly good PC which I built myself. It's got a 3.5G-FX8320 8-Core Processor, 32 Gs RAM, and an HD 7770 video card. I know that the FSX is a pretty demanding program so I set my settings high but not max. Everything is fine (performance and graphic) however I've noticed that when I look at the aircraft from outside, the aircraft seemed to jerk a bit. What setting do I have to adjust to get rid of the jerking motion. other than that the game seems to run fine. One more thing, what do you think of the Megascenery X Southern California add-on for FSX?

Hello all, While doing some testing of a model of mine, i found out what I initially thought was a bug of my gauge coding, but not. It was reproducible on DEFAULT aircraft! It is as follows: Load the default 737-800 for instance, go to overhead panel and turn OFF generators and battery... DING! electrical power is still available for a while! What is strange is that ammeters and voltmeters correctly indicate ZERO when you switch things off... after a couple minutes, it goes back to normal and switching batteries and generators works as expected. First and foremost, I apologize if this is posted in the wrong forum or if it has been answered already. I did a forum search and comprehensive google search on the subject, both yielded no solution I would like to fly a 727 with a VC within FSX, and was initially steered towards the CaptainSim version. I however, cannot justify the price for it right now, and have heard a number of people say it takes quite a bit of tweaking to get working correctly. There is event soon with my virtual airline. The event starts at 0000z(1900est). The event is starts at Phoenix Sky Harbor Int'l, so I was wondering if I would leave the time in est or convert it to mst in the fsx free flight menu. I don't why this doesn't make sense to me and i'm not new to FSX.

FSX has gotten aged these days, no hope for a successor from Microsoft, Prepar3d and X-Plane are around - and I wonder in which direction flight simming as we use to know it is heading in the future. Addon developers need to make revenues, currently we see products for either of the beforementioned FS alternatives. I miss a common consense in this respect, maybe it's still too early for a "general decision". What I cannot think of is that companies like PMDG (provided they'll get their Prepar3d licensing issues sorted out one day) will develop for both sims. I'd like to update the textures of my WOAI models to match current airlines. Now with AA changing liveries I'm getting tired of my AI models stuck in circa 2008. What I need to know for example is who made these models so I can exchange a NW repaint for a Delta repaint so my A320's look current. I'm taking the easy way on this one and basically switching the NWA livery for Delta and changing the call sign. Delta in most cases flies the same routes with the same equipment NWA did. I'm not too concerned with realistic Delta routes at this point versus seeing accurate paints at airports. Same goes for Continental. I'd like to update those paints to United. Thanks …

I'm thinking of doing a complete reinstall of FSX and am wondering whether to reinstall the OS as well. I know with XP and earlier versions a reinstall would really clean things up and everything would be a lot faster. Does this still hold true with Win 7 64, or to a lesser degree?

I have FSUIPC and AS 2012. I have all the gust suppression, and wind smoothing boxes checked in both programs. I also have turbulence disabled in FSX itself, and I made all the recommended changes in the FSUIPC README document. I'm getting periodic rapid airspeed losses of about 40 knots at high altitudes, but the indicated wind speed and direction are stable with no appreciable sudden changes.I noticed there are several gust and ramp parameters in the weather section of the FSX.CFG file. Does it help to make changes to any of them? I use a PMDG 747, which I know is suceptible to sudden wind changes,however, others I've talked to say they're not experiencing the problem…

hi for example i have this: STAR -> Vector Direct -> A I want my route continue to A after the STAR and not a vector .... If i put the A where "Vector" is, all my star is erased and i have a direct route to A. so how can i change this with keeping the star ? thanks

A couples of days ago I did a flight from FACT to HCMM. There is a very nice freeware scenery for HCMM, however when it came to load the FMC using Navigraph data, it was not avilable; likewise with the weather and Jeppessen charts. In the end I managed to manually add the data for this airport to the various files in the navdata folder. Question is why is there no data, charts and weather for this airport. Isn't this Somalia's capital airport? Thanks

I changed the path from D: \program files\MICROSOFT GAMES to D:\program files\FLIGHT SIMULATOR FSX and now when I click on the FSX Logo, the game won't boot up. When I go to program files\MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIMULATOR FSX and click on the folder, it takes me to the flight simulator files. How can I correct this and get the logo back so I can play the game by just clicking on it.

Gah. So many terms and numbers. How do you capture the localizer in this plane? I'm just flying and randomly picking a nearby airport to land at with ILS. Trying to understand the ILS procedure in this plane. I set the runway ILS frequency in Nav1 and steady cruise at about 3000ft heading at a mild angle towards the runway but nothing ever happens. The plane never seems to pickup and align itself to the runway. I've watched dozens of videos but they are all modern tubeliners.

I recently got the pmdg 737 but i would like to be able to plan my own routes but have had no luck in finding a more general tutorial nor am i able to find charts for airports so that i can find the SID and/or Stars to use. Ex. i want to fly from Hobby (KHOU) to Dallas Love(KDAL), I was able to find the nav points that are used on this flight, but i have no idea how to enter them. What i have is KHOU.STELL2.CQY.DUMPY2.KDAL. I would like to take off from runway 4 at Hobby(KHOU) and land at 31R at Dallas(KDAL).

When does FSX action manual changes (i.e. in a text editor) to the FSX CFG file, and also Nvidia driver configuration changes via Nvidia Inspector? E.g. are CFG file changes loaded into FSX as soon the file is saved or do you have to restart the flight or even the whole sim to see the effect (and similarly with Nvidia Inspector)? I've always assumed that FSX loads the CFG file internally when you start the sim, and so any manual changes to the file take effect only after re-starting the sim when the file can be reloaded again. With Nvidia Inspector I'd assumed that changes to the driver configuration are executed when you click the "Apply changes" button on the profil…

Hi Everyone I have been using fsx for years now with no really problematic issues until today. I am not too sure what I have done but trying to adjust heading bugs or altitude bugs etc the value is skiping every second one. For example radio frequencies jump from 118.50 to 120.50 then 122.50 and decimal points go 118.70 to 118.90 without being able to get 118.75, 118.80, 118.85... etc. Altitudes seem to be jumping 300 ft at a time. Can anyone give me any advice on what i have done and how to fix it. Have tried backup FSX.cfgs but to no avail. Can someone help me please. Cheers Barra

A number of us Flight1 Mustang users are unable to use this aircraft since updating our OS to Windows 8 (i.e. Windows 8 Pro 64bit) and the developer (Jim Rhoads) has indicated that they will not look to resolve the issue until such time they know Windows 8 is solid, possibly a SP1 release in order to avoid unnecessary work, which is a valid position to take. In the meantime I would like to ask has anyone got their Flight 1 Mustang working under Windows 8 and what if anything did you need to do? Al an alternative one of us customers swapped out the Garmin 1000 gauge for the default and the aircraft works although without a major feature set. Has anyone used the…
