  1. Hello, Guys! I've few questions: 1)- If we see International Flights then we observe that when these flights go over us at 31000 to 38000ft, these flights make smoky lines their behind. A Huge smoky line of white color remains on the sky after their disappearing. Some times, we see lots of white lines, some times small white lines and some times we see nothing but airplane goes in same height. So What effect happens that sometimes these flights don't show smoky white lines? 2)- I usually, fly Boeing 747-400 in FSX. I want to ask when should we flare this plane while landing? I flare it 0nm distance away from runway, 600feet height above runway and flare with m…

Hi! With the PMDG 777 & 747 v2 to come, I ask myself the question, how to perform the long haul and super long haul flights. I really like the idea of starting a flight in, lets say London, flying the plane half around the world, followed by the approach and landing in Shanghai, Melbourne, Kuala Lumpur etc. But what are you people doing while cruising enroute? The few long hauls I did, were flown at 4x - 8x sim rate. But I could also imagine to bring the aircraft to its cruising altitude in the morning, let it fly on its own for the 7,8,9 or more hours during work, use the "pause sim at T/D"-function most add ons offer, to finally fly the approach and landing int…

There are 2 DeHavillan Dash 8 freeware planes in the download library. One of them is old (2008 I think) and is a Carrabian Airlines plane. The newer one (2012) is called Bahamas something or other. The older one works fine, but the more recent one has all the guage panel replaced by a black rectangle in every inside view. Since the recent one looks better from the outside, I would like to use that one. I installed both in the same way, by unzipping the compressed folder inside the FSX folder. The result is the same in FSX and Prepar3D - black rectangle instead of gauges for the newer plane. I even tried to move the plane folder by hand into the /simobjects/airplanes fold…

  5. Was wondering if anyone knows what is causing MegaScenry SoCal (a recent purchase/download) to constantly redraw the water texture/mesh layer or ? for coastal bay areas (e.g., San Diego Bay) in ugly, very noticeable block like sections (or tiles maybe); or if this is a "situation normal" issue with MegaScenry SoCal. I searched for any related posts here and via Google but have not come across this topic. On top of that, the bay water color is more of a dark green with MegaScenery than is the case if default FSX. To troubleshoot this, I did a fresh install of FSX, and then installed MegaScenry as my only add on (which is when the issue appears). Made sure to…

Hi, I have a SSD on my laptop and it has 240GB capacity so I installed FSX on a usb 3.0 external. My question is will it be faster to load if I move VFR sceneries I mostly use to SSD drive. Thanks

Is there anything to do besides disabling rex wx engine when migrating to opus, example is there a setting for haze or fog effect that should not be active when using opus, i know asky uses a haze and fog effect. But cant find anything within rex textures that should be undone prior to using opus, what did you do in rex?

Hey guys. I know many of us use REX for weather and so I'm having an issue with it. I have REX essential plus and it is not properly loading the weather when I start it up with FSX. I always have to manually load it when I'm already in FSX. However, after that initial load, it updates itself fine. Anybody else experience this? Any fix?

Feel free to move this to correct sub forum... Anyway can we get the default search to be "Forums" rather than "google site search?" If I wanted to google I'd just go to the top of my browser...

Hi, does Opus provide its own cloud textures ? Can Opus use third party textures ? F.i. REXE ones If in a certain airport there is a dense fog can I expect Opus to render it properly ? Same speech for whatever weather conditions. Is Opus able to reproduce a real overcast ? REXE for instance can't at all. Thanks in advance

Hello everybody, I am planning to buy GEX NA any I was wondering how does it perform compared to FSX default textures? I have REX+, AS2012, FSDT, FlyTampa And FlightBeam airports too. I would love to enhance the rest of the continent too, but I am worried about the performace impact afterwards. Any input is greatly appreciated.

  12. Hello! I decided to purchase OpusFSX today to see what I have been missing. I just completed my first test flight. I flew a route with two other weather engines that I have used prior to OpusFSX. Then used OpusFSX for the same flight. I'll first explain the test scenario and then my findings. (tldr -> Very good but annoying flight): ----- TEST SCENARIO: Flight from KUTS to KDFW. Date: 2013-01-25 (yesterday -> historic weather). Time: 17:15 UTC/Zulu. Airchaft: JS41, Fuel: 3000lbs, Payload: 0lbs. Route: DCT LOA LOA.CQY6.ILS17L (wanted to test tailwind landing a flying from VFR to IFR conditions) Here is the real world weather for the flight…

I love the realistic cockpit movement with all the bumping and shaking during flight, i have read the manual and made sure to turn off the Turbulence effects in FSX and allow Opus to handle that. What i am experiencing with the dynamic camera options on, for any aircraft i have tested during flight is that while the cockpit is bumping around beautifully, if i look down at the ground there are times where it appears to be trembling very unnaturally (the ground that is) and is not in sync with the movement of the cockpit... if that makes any sense id appreciate any help or tips. thanks in advance.

Hey there, I was a flightsim enthusiast some years ago, FS9 and PMDG being my main setup. With the arrival of FSX in 2006, I had started my real flight training and every last cent went into that, thus not simming as much and not upgrading my software. Now that I'm flying commercially career wise, I'm now starting to develop an interest in flight simming again, go figure:-). I remember reading the forums just after FSX was released, and remember reading some very negative posts from users, mainly with the performance issues. So my main question is, how is FSX now? Has it progressed a lot since its release in 2006? Are simmers finding their hardware can cope with the F…

Has anyone noticed there being no precipitation from Opus when using FS Recorder for instant replay? I have seen that everytime I was landing in either rain or snow that when I play back the landing with FS Recorder it doesn't show it. Clouds and visibility are the same but no rain/snow.

Hi, In FSX you can assign keys for the virtual cocpit view, outside view and top down view. However I did not find an entry for the aircraft view. I know I can cycle through all cameras but is there a direct key to show the aircraft camera? Thanks.

you can see the lines of taxi and runway in the distance? are discontinuous, are not well optimized. I have also seen that the lines of digital screens in 737 PMDG also have these problems, until I do a zoom screen. Is this normal? Do you have any solutions? Today I was watching breaking bad with Windows Media Player and watch that problem but when using another player improved and it looked perfect. So that rules out the problem was in my chart, is a NVIDIA 560 Ti. I hink I have something not configured correctly

  20. There are certain times when I'd like to sit back and relax and watch someone fly the plane. That means turning on the plane from a cold & dark state, push back, taxiing onto runway, takeoff, descend to approach, land plane, taxi to gate and shutoff plane. Is there a way or any sort of plugin for FSX that will do this?

  21. I have Blueprint's KIAD scenery. When I look at the airport in the FSX map view .. the center runways don't include the ILS becons.. When I look at the actual bgl file using Airport Editor the ils information is in the bgl file. Any ideas why this would be ? When I select ILS marker on runway ( I select in the area of the triangular marker at the end of the runway ) 1L: ILS/DME 1L (IOIU) Type: ILS Frequency : 110.75 MHz Heading: 11 1C: ILS O1L (IOSZ) Type: ILS Frequency: 111.30 MHz Heading 11 1R: CAT III ILS 01R (IIAD) Type: ILS Frequency: 110.10 MHz Heading 11 Under Facility Information I get: Washington Dulles Intl (KIAD) …

I want to buy a Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta WIII scenery. There are two available. One from BDO Aviation and one from Onet Valley. There is a little price difference, but that will not be the deciding factor. I want good framerates and adequate (eg like ImagineSim) or better, quality. So any input from users of both, about the above two elements, would be very helpful. PS: BDO Aviation has AES support, which a very large advantage for me, as well.

Hello Simmers! I am encountering a problem, of sorts, with my new rudder pedals. I want them to be activated for brake when I brake fully, but I can not rest my feet on them as they activate the differential brakes all of the time with just a little bit of pressure. is there any way to make it only activated when pressed down to the "max", or only when both are activated at the exact same time? I have tried adding an assignment for brake in the controls section, but it recognizes my CH Products rudder pedals as axis, not as buttons. Any help would be greatly appreciated! -abasa12
