Each time I run FSX, a small text file called log.log is created on my desktop. I have no idea where it comes from but judging by what's written in it (see below) it might have something to do with shaders. full path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ redirecting CreateDevice initialising shader environment device->GetBackBuffer failed Any idea what would do this ? Did some search but couldn't find any tweaks for this. Approaching MMMX the sim becomes a slideshow, I almost crashed on landing. I tried with default airport, and with taxi2gate. I also tried those combinations with DX10 or DX9 and not much difference. I DO have GEX/UTX installed though, but with lights off. Anyone else have problems in this area and know any scenery files to delete to fix it or any tweaks? Cheers

I also own the QW 757, and for some reason, my joystick is non-responsive to this particular aircraft, but it is responsive to others. When I turn the rudder, the actual rudder on the aircraft will not move, the ailerons will not move when maneuvering the joystick in any given direction. Any suggestions???

I have the 208 and it pulls to the left and I have changed the aircraft config file as Carenado said to. Open the aircraft.cfg file and search for the [flight_tuning] section. At the end of that sections add these lines: p_factor_on_yaw = 0.0 torque_on_roll = 0.0 gyro_precession_on_yaw =0.0 gyro_precession_on_pitch =0.0 It still pulls to the left. I can change just the plane and the new one doesn't pull. I have two other planes from Carenado and they fly just fine. Any one know what is wrong? I have re installed it twice and have all the updates. Thanks in advance

This is my first post so i hope i'm posting this question in the right place.... I'm new to FSX AND this forum so pease bear with me- When I try and play a Free Flight game now, aspects of the Mission flights are mixed in. For example, the plane and runway I choose are there, but the mission narrorator speaks a little and the compass on the upper left with the mission indicator pointer is there. Also, if i go to my Kneeboard I see Mission goals written out and if i crash it says mission failed. I can't find a way to make my Free Flight a Free flight! When I first plugged in my brand new X52, the joysticks lights would flash. That seemed to have fixed itself. Now the joystick won't work. It lights up and turns on but that's about it. I have calibrated it and nothing works. The throttle works fine though. Please help.

Hi All, I have a situation with FSX where no matter what aircraft I switch to,the differential brakes stick on and make taxiing almost impossible.If I apply the Park brakes they dissappear for about 30 seconds and then reappear again.This happened to me about 18 months ago and in the end I had to un-install FSX completely from my computer and then re-install everything and I have a lot of add ons.As they total over 80 Gigabytes I am desperarely trying to find a way not to have to do so.I was wondering if anyone of you had experienced the same problem and if so had a way to fix it without wiping everything.Hope someone can help. Anyone ever have this problem? Sometimes I can correct it by going to a page in the settings and returning, but sometimes the issue remains.

Hi Everyone, I just realised that my PMDG 737,VRS F18 and other aircraft's landing lights has a square box shown when the lights are on.Dont know how that happened.What can i do to make it normal?It gives the same effect prior to landing as well.Using 3D shockwave lights. As I've posted here before, I was pretty active here about five or six years ago, when my computer was still relatively up-to-date. Since then, it's become a dinosaur, and I found simming on it pretty limiting. I've since bought a gamer's notebook (that runs rings around my old desktop with a basic FSX install), and plan to build a new desktop system with even higher quality. Hi I am having a problem with AI traffic. I created custom traffic for a custom airport (downloaded from AVSIM - airport code PEIR), however the traffic is not showing. This is not another FS9 v FSX traffic issue, as I have tried it in both formats, and its not aircraft shadows either, because I have had that issue before and that just makes the AI aircraft invisible. When I right click I get: Cockpit, Outside, Tower, Runway, Aircraft. No Air Traffic. ?????? It is very annoying, please reply asap :smile:

I'm trying to set up my new system per Word Not Allowed's guide, and everything seems to work until I get to the vsynch tweak. Word Not Allowed recommends setting the vsynch at 1/2 the refresh rate (60 for my monitor), but when I go to Nvidia Inspector, I can't find anywhere for such a setting. Nvidia version 1.9.68 Driver 306.97 WHQL I'm locked at 30 fps in FSX and it holds that in all but the most complex scenery/weather, but I'm still getting some micro stutters. Hi Everyone, I've just started flying online in the US & Canada after never really venturing out of Europe. I've purchased GEX/UTX and looking for airport scenery - any recommendations? Really into flying Southwest 737s and American 757s etc. So any good payware or freeware anyone recommends for airports in the US/Canada and Hawaii would be awesome!

I have read and tried several sugestions on setting up EZ Scenery with no sucess. I am running FSX Gold Edition with Flight Simulator Acceleration. Some say download SDK Updates yet my DVD files are dates 09/26/2007. Could someone give me a step by step install to get things working? I have uninstalled and reinstalled both Acceleration and SDK and edited several DLL.xml documents as I anm not sure the correct one to edit. The one in my Documents/Flight Simuator X or where. A correct answer would be appreciated.

I looked at the FlightBeam forum this morning, then registered but am still waiting for my forum confirmation e-mail tonight. I have had FlightBeam KSFO on my system for some time now and it has worked well. Recently I installed the SimSavvy photo scenery for California, making sure that I had the FlightBeam KSFO at a higher scenery layer. However, what I am seeing is that the Bay area around the airport has dried up, there is just land there with a small pool of water in the middle of the Bay- it's almost like the terrain went up in elevation. Is there anything to add street lights world wide? I want fly tampa's Dubai but it looks wrong without street lights and I always fly at night so I want realism.

Bought a new computer that I saw on craigslist that I thought would do the job. Here are the specs. AMD x8core 3.6ghz FX-8150 Saphire HD 7850 16gb of ram windows 64 bit 600w psu Its is fresh no add-ons but the pmdg 737ngx and REX. I am getting about 7-10fps... :( any ideas?

I'd heard about the Shader 3.0 mod before but I thought it was more about improving performance for those using ATI cards. Does it have any relevance today as far as graphical improvements etc?
