Hello guys, i just bought the PMDG 747 and i want to fly it with the automatic routes given by FSX (ATC indicates me turns, altitute, approach, ect). My question is: can i still fly this plane automatically? What I am doing right now: I choose the 747 ,create a flight plan, IFR approach, and FSX generates me a route. So far good, but if i want to change the runway course, or ILS frequencies i dont know where and how to do it... Thanks for the information! cu

I realize this has been out for some time now but I would love to buy it since I live in St Louis and work at Boeing which is on the north side of the airport. The reason I'm asking here is that it appears they have stopped giving any support unless you've already purchased and provide a serial #.There were some FPS issues that I believe were solved and an issue with cars crossing over the new runway instead of thru a tunnel under it. Hello there, I'm one of those simmers who spends ages planning the flight to perfection. I print off numerous weather charts etc. On planning my flight today (TOM676) From Birmingham-Enfidha in Tunisia i noticed in the winds that on a FL390 model at 15z (T+15), the charts are showing a southerly directed wind through most of Europe (Mostly over UK), so departing BHX and climbing to FL390 i am getting winds of 231/46, which is totally different to what they should be. I just recently bought Aivlasoft's Electronic Flight Bag and absolutely love it. It now has replaced Flight Sim Commander as my main flight planner/moving map/2nd monitor app. But heres the problem, all this time i have been using the FSX atc system for IFR flights and now with EFB and being able to do a real approach like it should be done(as i imagine it done in the real skies above me) fsx atc has a fit because im not following their vectors and doing all that zigzagging around that the fsx atc is infamous for. My question about how individual sounds are used in a sound cfg file - I am trying to add a few extra sounds to a 747 RR sound pack I was given. While I am happy with the basics of flap and gear sounds etc, the problem I am having is with apu and air conditioning sounds (I am aware this has been discussed before but was unable to find what I needed on the forum). So I've been getting in sim flight w/ FSX - I have the Siatek throttle - I found good YouTube video on how to set up the reverse thrust for landing a jet. I can apply the control on the throttle - slide the reverse key to the right - and save. Before take off I test and it works fine. I then try and land but by now it doesn't work anymore. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

I started to record my videos in FSX but playback has many problems. I hear the sounds wrong and moving things like flaps are not showing up also. I know people use FRAPS to records but FSX is already FPS hungry with many addons so it would make my frames much worse while recording. I also heard about FSRecorder but it only records with an extension that can only be played by the application itself. What people are using to record to show their landing videos ?

I recently started using FSXDB but now I can't seem to get connected to the program. Anyone else having this problem? Jim

I have a particular problem that I cannot resolve. Specifically, what I am trying to accomplish is shown in this video at the :31-:35 second range on this video (http://www.rogerdodger.net/videos/multi-monitor_1.html). As you can see they are in 'Virtual Cockpit' mode and have one view stretched over both screens. As you move around the cockpit both screens move together. Note - I already have my system set up so that I can move across both monitors. But I have been unable to pull the virtual cockpit across both monitors - instead, what I do is open up another window w/ another virtual cockpit - unlock it - and move it to the other monitor. Every once in a while I get this odd thing where when I look at a runway off in the distance, where the VASI lights are I get black squares for the VASI lights instead of the actual lights. This doesn't happen all the time and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. Sometimes it happens in congested areas and sometimes it happens out in the middle of nowhere. When it happens, its only for a second. I use TrackIR and if I happen to look out in the distance I "may" see those black squares in place of a runway's VASI lights. i have no ai traffic and no matter what i do i cannot solve the problem i use my traffic x. it was working fine until recently and now it is not, i tryed to reinstall but it still wont work recent programmes i have installed are scenery tech landclass europe and asia rex 2.0 and vfr vol9 but i dont see how any of these could cause this problem any help would be appreciated.

Hi guys. I am getting the freeze where the fsx sim freezes for 0.5 to 1 sec every around 3 secs. This happened with Aerosoft Airbus X Extended. I feared it was the bus so I have unistalled everything and reinstalled everything again and followed all the procedures but it's still happening. Tried editing all ini file to make logging=0, html_interface=0 and also both navdata pro =0 and 1 but no luck at all whereas it was solved for many people according to the aerosoft forum. I then tried at some other few airports and apparently everything works fine. So i am thinking imaginesim wsss maybe the problem? For a very long while I've been looking at a suitable program or app to display charts inside FSX. And so far I haven't found the perfect program yet. In the past, I started using charts by looking them up on Google, but I always hated to ALT+ENTER every single time so I stopped doing that. I have been a long time user of ASE, but sadly, I am letting this old bird go. I am simply blown away by Opus weather, dynamics, ease of use, etc etc. I now understand what all the hype was about. So, I finally purchased and I gotta say Bravo to the developers. I had my criticisms in the past, but all that is history now. Only one quibble, which I expect will be improved in the future, is seamless compatibility with TIR. I had to downgrade to 5.1.3 as the latest version would not play nicely. Also I am still trying to find a sweet spot for the scanning adjustments. I still get the occasional jump/glitch. Bumping the scan number a bit helps, but at the cost of TI…

Just out of the blue I have got a problem with disappearing parts of my aircraft and also scenery objects like buildings, lights and tarmac, it is very obvious when changing from windowed to fullscreen and also back again. Suddenly my cockpit has no seats or only the instruments are visible, changing from full to windowed might make it ok, but also sometimes can make it worse. I have AS2012 and for some reason when I press "Refresh AI" all is restored and is good for a while. I know this is a very generic error description with not much about my actual system, but before I rip everything apart, does anyone have some tips on what can cause this? Thanks guys…

I hadn't played around with SunSkyJet's KPHL much in FSX until recently. Can anyone enlighten me to the typical RW arrivals? I know they are usually in west ops and will fly online as much as possible...which isn't possible very often. For example, the JIIMS2 arrival has instructions to fly all the way on to a downwind, but says to plan for radar vectors. How much of the STAR is typically flown, etc.

VirtualCol has just released their rendition of the classic popular Dutch made Fokker F-50. It's the mother of all commercially operated turboprops in my opinion, hence my title. We recently announced another development currently in progress by CoolSky and McPhat. As for when the latter will be released... maybe later this year. But in the mean time, the VirtualCol should be sufficient enough to hold you over. And with a price tag of $12 bucks, it's very reasonable too!

In my past SP2 flying, particularly with complex airplanes and airport add-ons, I used to follow a common advise to disable crashes and damage. Now I'm flying FSX Acceleration and there is one more box in Realism settings: Engine stress damage engine. How do you use it with planes like RealAir's TurboDuke and others?
