Yesterday I remembered that I bought Radar Contact years ago, when I started to fly in FSX, but since than never touched it again, it was a very big bite for me, all that ATC protocols and phraseology for a beginner. So yesterday I installed it, and tested it in Munich - Hamburg flight with PA 320. I like it a lot, but I'm still in some real ATC protocols a newbie, so I looked at the manual, God so much to read and learn. One of the thing that I didn't find in the manual are the details for a flightplans made in FS2004 or FSX. I usually create a simple flightplans for airliners in FSX, IFR, GPS direct route, not adding any waypoints. Why? Because I used default ATC, w…

I thought it might be better to post here rather than the ESDG forums. Every one of my aircraft are able to start fine except the Premier. When I engage the starter button, it just cranks and doesn't ignite. I am doing everything right, and at about 24% N2, starts the sequence over again. I tried the automixture option, but doesn't do anything. Anyone have any ideas? Chris

I am getting weird water reflection//texture problems. For one, at least in the PNW, the water turns milky white when in the 2X water detail set, and reflective. At day, however, with the water setting at Max 2X, the reflecting clouds are stretched to the edge of the screen from a certain point, and there is weird reflections of land in the water. See the screenshot for a better depiction. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

So I'm running into a minor problem. I'll be in the middle of flying and FSX will all of sudden decide to not recognize any of my controllers and switch to mouse yoke. I go into the controller setup and nothing shows up except the mouse yoke, and keyboard. Windows recognizes them though outside of FSX even whil FSX is running.

I know this isn't a really popular FSX aircraft, however, I'm looking for the best available version for FSX. I've heard the Abacus version is pretty bad and that some of the freeware is very good. I was kind of hoping any of you out there might have first hand knowledge.

I'm thinking about getting the SHockwave 3D lights utility for FSX but i'm wondering if these lights are better than the UTX lights or than the standard PMDG lights, I already have. Any opinions?

Having just installed Al Wheeler's outstanding CA Central Coast scenery, I'm finding that all the windsocks are massively oversized and misplaced; If I had to guess, I would say that it might be the 3rd party animated windsocks that were used to make this scenery but that's just a guess. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I have recently downloaded UT2, but I am encountering a problem with updating, of sorts. I am on the summer 2012 cycle, (which does not include the new United repaints, Delta Connection repaints or the new Horizon Air repaints, as far as I can tell). I downloaded a repaint for the TFS Dash 8 in the Alaska colours, and checked that it matched the other repaints (formatwise), as well as the extension and so on. I found that it matched, however when I replaced the old Horizon paint in the DH4 folder in SimObjects/UT2 Aircraft, and started FSX, the repaint was black in the day. Any help? -abasa12 PS - Is this true that the CRJ's and EMB's of Delta Connection, an…

I have the Carenado C208B Grand Caravan and I'd like to learn more about how to manage its power system. Specifically: * is there any benefit to adjusting the prop lever during flight? * what parameters do I target for a typical fuel efficient cruise (re: fuel flow, torque, Ng, prop rpm)? * do I always leave the fuel condition at full while in flight? (I think I read somewhere that you don't "lean" a turbine) * when/how do you use "emergency power"? Together with throttle? Instead? Any implications? Thanks Clark

Hello! I am thinking about purchasing the Saitek trim wheel, but I'm worried about the clamp not working with my current desk setup. Does anyone think it might work if I ditch the clamp completely and just put the unit on top of the desk with velcro? I guess if the wheel resistance isn't too great, it may work? Thanks, Paul

I once lived in the "west county" area of St. Louis and flew frequently as a passenger in and out of Lambert Field (KSTL) , stemming back to the days when TWA moved it's original "hub" from Kansas City to St. Louis. I also had KSTL as my home base when I was active in the original virtual airline, SunAIr Express, formed in 1991 using subLogic's Flight Assignment: ATP. So despite relocating from the St. Louis area some 30 years ago I have maintained an attachment of sorts to the history laden Lambert. Another historic landmark in St Louis is Lindberg Boulevard, which encompasses the immediate St Louis metro from almost the Mississippi River at the SE part of the met…

I have personally never flow a multiplayer flight. Looking at the A2A B-17 and a squadron I was wondering how many players could an "fsx server" (if that is the proper term) could handle. Just dreaming but getting a bunch of guys together at the same time for a B-17 op would be interesting.

This has happened before but thought it was just a one off, but I just took off from Corfu and started doing some traffic pattern approaches and then I noticed my rudder was stuck to the left, and if i moved it to the right it would just move to idle position (middle). Not sure what I may have pressed for this to happen but can anyone help me, its a big issue because obviously when I'm on the ground I can't taxi! Here's an image of it so its easier to visualize.

Hi folks, I have recently been dipping my toes into flying a glider in fsx, with a view to finding a decent location where me and my friends mightenjoy a bit of friendly competition gliding, i.e. height and/or distance, that kind of thing. I had about 5 or 6 outings myself in the glider so far, from places likeSwitzerland to Death Valley in Nevada, but I'll be danged if I even came across 1 solitary thermal or the slightest ridge lift so far! This is very frustratingindeed. My question is, do thermals even exist outside of the tutorials or in multiplayer FSX? is there a software download somewhere that does this?yours curiouslySooZ

Hey guys, spotted on A2A's facebook page! Looking great A2A! Now guessing on the model lol. It is not an N...the landing lights are on the wing. Could be a P or Q (depending on engine), but looking at the door latch looks like a newer generation model such as an R or S. Older 172s had the old square latch Newer models have the longer retangular latch If we could get a screenshot of the under wing area, you can tell by the number of fuel sump points by the door. Old models just had the single fuel sump point per wing, new models have 5 sump points per wing if I recall. Cheers TJ

If possible, does anyone know how to increase an airport draw distance (I think that's what you call it). Basically, I would like to be able to see my destination airport from further out. I fly VFR and I hate it when the airport just pops up in front of you and then it is a made scramble to try and line yourself up with the runway. Many thanks.

An announcement yesterday on the update of PFPX seems the only navdata will be Aerosoft. Not sure if this is their final decision but just informing people before they buy a year subscription elsewhere. Heres the link: http://www.topcatsim...p?topic=831.330 This is all subject to change after release I would guess.
