Here and there on these forums I'd read mention of RealityXP gauges. Over the past months I've slowly been building up my FSX Add Ons and I've got to the point where I'm curious about this RealityXP stuff. So I hopped over to their website and read what was available about them. I understand that they are somehow "replacements" for the gauges in other aircraft with a more realistic version. I was just wondering if you might share your opinion on a few things: How much different than the default gauges are they? I've only ever used the default aircraft in FSX and its hard for me to have a frame of reference to understand how the experience might be differ…

Please move if it is in the wrong forum From the Microsoft website, they have a digital form of FSX, I bought it and they provided me with ten download links. This the standard version, which I will then install Acceleration. Can I install FScene total over the FScene North America/Europe I already have? Or do I have to uninstall the previous scenery? Henri

Hi, I have managed to optimize my FSX.cfg and to have quite acceptable frame rates with the NGX, but I have the problem that, when I fly over cities populated with autogen buidings, if it is cloudy and my speed is above 180 knots, I have a big delay in autogen loading, so that when I overfly the area only the ground textures and the custom buildings load and I see no autogen at all. Is there any particular parameter I should look into in order to get an improvement? I have autogen set to medium/dense and ActiveSky 2012 clouds, no UTX/GEX. Thanks.

I'm a real world procedures junkie and I'm always trying to get every bit of real world data I can so I can assimilate it into my flying. Recently though, I've been reading through numerous sources of data concerning cockpit preflight checklists and flows on Boeing aircraft, and I just about everything conflicts with everything. For example, there was an awesome thread in here some time ago by a South African pilot (I think his name was Simon Holderness?) where he gave a complete rundown of the flows he used for his 737 NG, what state the flight deck was in when he received the aircraft, and detailed every switch he flipped from entering the cockpit to leaving it. Hi All, I have been using Opus since October and love it. I recently reinstalled my FSD Navajo for FSX. I loaded it up last night and the windows were grayed out in the VC. I started FSX like I always do, load the sim, start TrackIR, start Opus. When I switched to the 2d panel all was fine as was switching aircraft. If I cleared the weather via the FSX menu I could see out, but once Opus reloaded real wx the windows went back to grayed out. And yes, the weather was clear at my airport. I got it fixed by loading FSX "real wx" then changing that option back to "user wx." I was able to complete the flight without incident after I did that. Probably not man…

I'm not certain what the odds are, but I fly for DeltaVA and flew a real world flight in real time, while tuned into LiveATC.net to Chicago center, and running Ultimate Traffic 2at 100% traffic with the latest update to the flight schedules, and as I was flying along I spotted Canadian 511 in front of me by its on screen flight marker data, and all of a sudden there is a callout from Chicago Center on LiveATC.net talking to Canadian 511 to climb to cruise altitude with a course adjustment. LoL! It doesn't get much more real than that!

This probably as the result of an unsuccessful attempt to load the Megascenery X SoCal software in my PC. Now everytime I click on the FSX icon to start playing the game I get this annoying message. "scenery.cfg file error. D:\program files\Socal\Socal\scenery in scenery area .121 not found" After click OK, I can go on to play the game. How can I get rid of this?

Was flying over France yesterday (approx 0600 GMT) at FL300 and I had a headwind of about 150 knots. Is this a bug or are winds like this common at high altitude?

I am aware that mesh, landclass and textures are supposed to be installed in that order. But, if I have UTX and GEX installed for an area, then buy FSGlobal for that area, can I just install the mesh and I will be good, or do I have to remove UTX and GEX and reinstall after mesh? Thanks, Morten

Hi, Just re-installing FSX and DO27 on my new SSD, I cannot find the DO27 patch for opaque rear glass in FSX SP2. It seems that all links on Digital Aviation are dead. Could you tell me where I can find this little "corrective" again? :huh: Thank you.

I downloaded Dino's new F14D beta and when I enter the cockpit I am unable to turn on the HUD or any of the panels. I tried clicking the BRT tabs but they don't move. Has anybody else had this problem. I wanted to contact Dino directly but don't know how.

I am very interested in Opus for real time weather but I am not clear on one thing. I use REX on a client computer and P3D on a host computer with REX on the client sending real weather to the host. I also use STB/Plan-G/Flying School/Radar Contact etc. on the client working with P3D on the host. The Opus network setup manual seems to indicate that I must install a full copy of P3D/Scenery etc. on the client machine for it to work with P3D on the host machine running P3D/Scenery. If that is the case it would be a deal buster for me. Please enlighten me on this.

Hello simmers, i am planning to buy rex essentials and i have some dubts. 1. once i install rex, is it possible to "setup and forget" so i can start fsx with its native UI, flight planner, and weather system? 2. how much big is the frame per second impact? Thanks so much for any suggestion!!

When am at the runway ready for take off i have 30FPS , but as i push forward the throttle an speed down the runway i get the 2 second stutter then FPS drop to 10. Am not at my computer right now. But when i get home i will post my fsx.cfg so you guys can have look to see if i have something i shouldn't . Anyone have any idea what the problem might be ?

Im pretty certain this is an old subject but I'm looking for ideas on what causes mostly higher speed aircraft such as jets to begin porpoising (rotating up and down) in climb and decent while in Autopilot mode. It stops as soon as the A/P is disconnected. Its happening with any including default Lear, etc. The higher the speed, the more violent it gets.

I'm having a lot of issues with 9.2.1 ... sorta wish I never upgraded from 8.5. 1. Will not save gate selection in the flight.pln file 2. Incorrectly sets type as VOR in the flight.pln when I have High Alt set. 3. Has duplicate airports (looks like it'll not work with any 3rd party airports/scenery) 4. If I exit FSC9 it's still running according to task manager, it's not correctly releasing resources 5. Generates some flight plans that have me doing several loops just after departure I'm going back to FSC8 for now, at least I know it works. Hi All, I have been stopping myself to post a message in the forum hoping I could do something about the issue by myself but I have not managed to do that. So here I am ! Here are my specs : I7 930 overclocked to 4ghz. 12GB ram GTX 480 (Asus). ASUS P6TX58 My problem comes from ENB Series and/or FPS limiter. I can use both of them without any issue until the end of the flight when I access the menu (replay, map, end of flight etc..). I have been working on fixing this issue and I read many topics about this and I also tweaked my fsx to the best I can with the hardware. FSX is installed on a SSD and VFR sceneries are on 5400rpm HDD. I don't know but maybe this is the cause of the problem but I can't change it cause its a laptop. When going in slow speeds there is no problem but in planes like 737, scenery textures load slow. Here is my fsx.cfg. I experimented with FFTF a lot but making it 0.66 gives me lower FPS so I am using it on 0.25. If there is anything I should change let me know. One of our SimFlite members has just come out with a new video on “Formation Flight: Basic Principles”. Being a L-39 Pilot in the real world he assisted in the development of the Lotus L-39. Some of our members are starting to use this “How To” Formation Flight: Basic Principles video to hone their FSX skills.
