Hey guys, Just curious which slider in FSX settings has the most impact? If I was to turn down only one which should I start with. Thanks

Well, it has been a nice winter. FSX has been running like a dream and I've been having a lot of fun, but then I fell into temptation and installed a few airport addons. Suddenly my perfectly stable FSX setup goes astray. I saw the signs in the "Add-ons" menu of FSX. Below my trusted FSUIPC titles like "Addon Manager", "VistaMare" and "Couat|-powered products" appeared and I rightfully feared the worst. Just as I started my first flight, FSX freezes. I Ctrl+Alt+Del and stop FSX, reboot and try again. Sure enough. Same thing happens. Angry to the point of knocking my Saitek yoke into a coma I reboot and try a third flight from a different airport. I manage to lost it, somehow ! :(Can some good soul out there please, please post it here ?? Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to play with those two.... I was really excited to make a tour with Bell2006 over the magnificent Manhattan - but when I looked for it and later for R22 you can just imagine my surprise ! :( They wasn't there !!!So please, guys..... I just need those two !aircraft.cfg" files for those two ! Okay I've finally downloaded and installed all 25 MegaSceneryEarth 2.0 files for my homestate, Alabama. On my first flight I've noticed two possible anomolies... I'm hoping someone else with MSE2 'Bama could confirm or deny that they find the same thing: 1) A few miles east of Huntsville Int'l (KHSV) and just south of Redstone Arsenal (KHUA), but still north of the Tennessee River, I've got a couple of large areas where my FSX/GEX terrain is showing instead of the MSE2 photo product. 2) In my MegaSceneryEarth/Alabama/Scenery folder, I notice the first file is "AL_Aerial1_B_03.bgl". In all of my other MSE2 states, the first few files begin with "XX_Aerial1_A_..." wher…

Been reading a lot of threads as of late about long haul flight iver GA flying. Well I don't even have any payware GA planes. I pretty much fly the NGX all the time. Well I think I want to try my hand at a GA plane. So I come to you all for some recommendations. I want a plane that is of the same type of quality and feel that the NGX gives to commercial aircraft. I would like something that can climb high, go fast for cross country hops but can still get into tight small airstrips. A great accurate VC and FDE are a must! Opus says: We strongly recommend the use of 3rd party packages such as FEX for their sky and cloud textures, or HDEv2 (freeware) for clouds with the sky upgraded by Danny Glover. REX is not mentioned, is there any reason I should choose FEX instead of REX(already own) I want to use Opus on 3 pc's with livecamera and weather synchonized across 7x 27" screens Do opus and FEX have advantages like automatically load new textures on all pc's instead of when using Opus with REX you probably do that manually ? Some of my aircraft (especially my CLS A330) are having parts of the aircraft show up black, most often the wings and engines. I don't understand what is causing it but I hear that you have to copy things from "texbase" (see below) but I can't find that file/folder. Could someone please guide me to find it so I don't have black spots? Here is part of the readme instructions in one of the A330's repaints: 4. Copy and paste everything from "texbase" into "texture.airfrance_nc", do NOT overwrite any files! I can't find texbase.

Well im back again and im still getting this software up and running had a few probs but it working pretty good im running a 9 monitor set up with 4 coms netted toghether. the 4th com with two monitors is the one i decided to add opus as a client for views. i know its possible and i have been reading , i want to run two views with one computer. the extreme laft view and the right view. As im setting up my client left view thru the server config, i add a new camera and put in -90 then hit enter i have my left view then i save it. But how do i make a right view, how do i open a new window other than hitting the left bracket to open a window. whe…

When i load a plane up at a gate or runway it automatically starts to accelerate and wont stop... no AP is on and does it automatically. It started doing this after I set the throttle on my Saitek Throttle Quadrant to the Throttle Axis in settings. How do i fix?

I am by no means an expert on FSX so please go easy on me... I have the PMDG 737NGX and EZDok camera addon, when i go to Pilot in Command view no cursers show up to input commads on anyting (autopilot, overheads etc). Its looking like Steve Ballmer will be leaving Microsoft based on the latest rumor mill postings. So I got a bug up my butt and sent an email to Bill Gates (not that he will actually read it) asking him to kick some butt back at the office and resurrect the FS platform (suggested that he call it FS Professional) because many of us simmers were dying for a new release. Anyway if Ballmer is out it may be a good time to take advantage of the situation and get a formal petition (with as many sigs that we can muster) over to MS demanding a revival of the FS Franchise. When I start REX it goes through the normal procedures, but when the radar screen is supposed to come on, instead I get a screen with a message that REX is offline. It says to make it online, to press the ALT button then choose file. But there is no "file" menu anywhere in the REX application. Sohow do I tell REX to go online? BTW I AM online, because my browser, mail etc all work normally. Henri

The first section of Aerosoft Deutschland X (DEX) has been released! The official screen shots look promising, much more so than the ones used in FTX's recent comparison did. It will be interesting to compare DEX with the final version of the upcoming FTX Global and the latest version of GEX.

Hi guys! I have my new PC for 2 months now (i5 3570K @ 4.4 GHz, 16 GB RAM CL9, GTX 670 2 GB and a 480 GB SSD for Win 7 64 bit and FSX). So far, everything I need is installed, tweaked and is running nicely. I left much addons uninstalled since I rarely used them on my old system. Plus, I want to keep everything clean and organised. Right now, with the must have addons like the PMDG T7, the FSL A320, the Majestic Q400 and some nice airports sceneries to come, I have 215 GB free space on my SSD. It has been a long time since i had any problems with FSX , but lately i am getting FPS lost in areas like north america specially in Atlanta . I do have UTX North america an Canada Install fallow by GEX alantic an Pacific . I don't know if UTX night light has any issue with Experience X light . Am use to getting 20-28FPS on ground inside VC in north america with lock frame rate at 30. I can't fallow Word Not Allowed Guide for fsx since i don't own an Nvidia Card . Having installed FSX on my new laptop, I'm trying to get it to work with the Logitech "XBox-style" gamepad. (Yes, I know, a joystick is better...but I can't fit one of those into my laptop bag.) I'm making progress except for one major problem. With the Logitech, you use the left joystick as the yoke, and the right joystick as your "hat switch" (at least when running a VC). The problem is, the minute you touch that right joystick to move it in any direction, you "jump" to what I can only describe as a higher seat position, so that all but the very top of the instrument panel is off-screen. To look at the instruments, you have to slowly pan down with the right joys…

If I want to fly in another area covered by Ultimate Terrain with Ground Environment textures, do I have to disable Orbx scenery? If I don't will there be conflicting textures or will the Orbx textures be activated? I'm a little confused as to how these programs work if all are activated at the same time. Also if I disable Orbx, do I need to run the GEX program and install the textures again?

Hi guys, I have been out the FSX game for almost two years now and would like to get back into it and was hoping you could suggest a few things for me. I have tried to comb thru the reviews and forums and got a bit overwhelmed. I sim in the US west and northwest US of flights about 1-3 hours. I have a mid to high end pc and I will purchase addons this week. I do have some of the better addons (PMDG, ect...) but am not a big fan of post mod install heavy tweaking. On some roads, ususally divided highways there are images of road traffic imbedded in the road texture itself and the moving road traffic appears above them. The attached jpeg shows the problem. My addons are UTX USA, UTX Canada and Orbx Pacific Northwest. I'm hoping someone my have experienced this problem and can suggest a solution. Thanks.

I had practically decided to buy this plane but when I started to read the flying guide I got concerned about something. They state that the plane need 30 fps to perform as intended. With my system I'm usually unable to get 30 fps. Often I have about 10-20 but occasionally it goes up to 30. My fps isn't stable and it's locked at 30. So from what I can see the very realistic flying behavior of this plane will be degraded on my system (see left). Would be interesting to hear from people who fly this plane on system similar to mine. One thing I wonder about is that for me the fps isn't so important as smooth performance. A gem in hiding - www.tweakfs.com Been doing some major cleaning up of my FSX install and really have to say - if EVERYONE isn't using their FSX Aircraft Toolbox to manage their hangar, they are missing a bunch.
