Hi all, I have been browsing this forum for a while but have only just signed up recently. I have built a new system and got FSX installed, I was running FSX on a imac with a i5 and 8Gb of RAM and a HD6750 512Mb GFX card. It ran fairly well on that tbh, this new system is struggling to even get into the low teens fps, I have done the usual FSX CFG tweak and have acceleration installed. My specs are, FX 6300 3.5Ghz CPU 8Gb DDR3-1600 GTX 650 ti OC 2Gb Have any of you guys got anything similar to this spec and got decent fps? I have GEX, REX, FSGenesis, UTX and a few addon planes nothing that troubled the imac, I am going to be really disappointed i…

SInce I fly a LOT in Norway I decided to check out some airport addons. To my surprise there is no addon at all for ENBR...?!? Apparently there once was an FS9 updated to FSX version from Cloud9 but it seems you can't buy that one anymore. I can only find Oslo, Stavanger and Trondheim (all Aerosoft) but not Bergen. And ENBR even isn't in the freeware Norwegian airports scenery...! Anyone here who knows if there is an addon for Bergen out there somewhere? Freeware or payware?

Hi can anybody please help on this one I have tried various halo files and am happy with the runways, but AI aircfaft lights are VERy difficult to see I am running over 3 monitors with a 680gtx and these settings RUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=0.7 RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=0.7 RUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=0.9 RUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR=0.8 In real life at night I can see aicrfat fly over my house from miles away, in FSX lucky to see them at 1 mile, has anyone out here managed to get them to look good on a 680gtx? Mostly, I set up the FMC and once on route and the autopilot takes over I enjoy the view out the window. So this evening I thought I'd add a bit of variety. I just completed a 70 odd minute flight using VOR to navigate and hand flew it. Phew I'm exhausted lol you forget the workload involved. Constantly checking the instruments, trimming and fine tuning the throttles to stay within 100ft of the altitude you set yourself. I have GEX and UTX North America, have had it for some time, looks great through many different altitudes and is reasonably accurate considering its autogen. However I see all these upgrades and I have GEX world updated, however its only to 1.096 and I am not sure its worth the cost to get it to 1.099, I have heard talk of a V2.0 coming soon, not sure if this is true or not, can anyone please tell me if 2.0 for NA is in the works or if the 1.099 upgrade is worth it? Please keep in mind that I fly in the continental USA almost 95% of the time.

Ladies and Gents, I currently own FS Flight Keeper and while a great piece of software Ive recently have only been using it to log hours and check landing v/s rates. I have been looking at FSCaptain to add a little bit more with respect the flight experience. I am interested to hear peoples opinions who own the software (or both) and their impressions on some of the features. Hello, :friends: I just today for the first time in almost 9 months of having my sony hmz personal viewer made able to work in 3d with FSX. All I have to say is, I will never set fsx in 2d while wearing my sony headset. There is little to no performance drop with incredible 3d I mean awsome like nothing I have seen on any other 3d monitor. They say that the sony headset gives better 3d then you would get to see at a Imax theather. This is because it has two small oled monitors that display different images.The result is nothing less of awsome. Hi, I am having a lot of trouble recently with FSX. Everything was running fine until I tried to install a livery for the PMDG MD-11 which corrupt my scenery.cfg which forced me to re-install FSX; loosing all my stuff. When I eventually got everything running again, I tried to set up the cameras for EzDok when I came to realize that when i pressed NUM 2 to enter edit mode, I get the pinging sound in the background notifying me that I am in edit mode, but when I press the arrow keys to move around, nothing happens? Also my Pan doesn't work on the cockpit cameras, it works for the gear camera but not the cockpit camera? How can I fix this? This is the last step to get…

I recently installed Traffic 360 ... at busy airports I take a huge hit in fps ... 30 fps is typically my minimum but it'll drop to 15 fps after installing Traffic 360. In my FSX.CFG AirlineDensity=20 GADensity=20 Which is not a lot of AI traffic but enough for me. However, I think Traffic 360 ignores this value or something? In Traffic 360 there is a density setting also for Traffic Generator (which always defaults to 100% regardless, I manually set this to 20% to match my FSX.CFG setting but the value is never saved so I have to manually change it every time): This doesn't change the value in the FSX.CFG ... if I set it to 40%, 60%, 100%, 150%…

I have several airport addons that have put files in the default FSX scenery folder, but I also have many that don't do this. So why have airport files been put in the default scenery folder and not in the addon folder?

I think I'm ready to purchase my first addons for FSX. My problem is I'm unsure what I want/need to get in order to have the best experience. Over the past week I've read what seems like tons of reviews and forum posts but that only scratches the surface of what is out there. I've recently been browsing the net looking for good quality freeware aircraft to fill gaps in my hanger that the payware people haven't got round to filling yet! One aircraft struck me as being unusual, and that was the Ilyushin Il18. Mmmmm I thought I haven't got any Russian aircraft. Hey, So this might be a little hard to understand but here goes... I have a strange issue where after about around half a nautical mile distance of view from AI or my own aircraft, it disappears, and I can only see it again by zooming in or having the viewpoint closer. This is very annoying when I'm trying to do a carrier landing and I can't see the ship but can see the white wake of it, or when a B-52 takes off and suddenly disappears, and all I have to do is go to the AI point of view and it is there again. It is really annoying as I want to follow these aircraft and I can't, but most annoyingly the aircraft carrier is the worst. Pete

Recently bought the RealityXP 430/530 and WAAS unlimited licenses. Going through the install seemed pretty straightforward but for some reason the GPS' selected don't show up in the VC. They only seem to install as a popup view. Is there something I'm missing or is the popup the only way to run the GPS in the VC? -Damien

I was mostly low and slow, and had no real major weather visual complaints. Ever since getting the Concorde I'm in a total antithesis situation. Wow, if this is normal Real World Weather, then now I know why everyone buys a weather engine addon.

Hi community, I seem to have a minor issue with clouds within the sim. I'm almost sure that this is me though......LOL. I usually do flights around Europe, usually of 1-3 hours duration. I'm using REX Essentials for my clouds (which I am VERY happy with) however, at the altitudes I fly at (20-25,000 feet) there always appears to be no cloud. I am not using real world weather, I have a profile set up in REX that I like, but I get a feeling the issue is within FSX, not REX. I usually get the cloud layers between 6k feet and 10k feet, and at altitude, I can see the upper level cloud........it's fairly high though; I'm guessing around 45k feet. So, can anybody…
