been looking at Wilco Airbus Series Evolution Vol.2 and Aerosoft X extended. Wilco looks more fully featured as it supports SIDS/STARS and the glass displays pop-out. Any thoughts?

I've Posted this over at the GSX forum, but thought I would place here, as many more might see it. I've recently purchased El Hierro from Aerosoft, and the problem is that GSX items are running around under the Apron/Taxiways. There was a similar problem with Aerosoft Maderia, and a chap called ' ricardo_r' produced a new BGL file that corrected the problem. I appreciate this is not a GSX problem, but is to do with elevation, and GSX is reading the 'ground level' to be below the actual scenery level. I don't have a clue how to change such things; anyone else?

I have Dino's newest version of his T45C. I am trying to use the TACAN but have no idea how to tune in the frequency. How do I use the TACAN to find the carrier and distance etc?

Hello - new to the forums and looking for some feedback/advice on what would be a good setup for FSX on my new build. My computer is based on an I5-3570K (going through OC process now), 16GB Ram, GTX 660Ti, Samsung 840 Pro 256GB (OS), WD 1TB 7200 64mb cache (data). I'm currently working my way through the 'Software and Hardware Guide to FSX' posted on this site, and various other posts (most of which include feedback from Nick N, who seems incredibly reputable!). My options/questions are the following: 1) Knowing FSX should be installed on a separate drive, should I install on my 1TB data (D:\) drive, which also includes about 150Gb of music, pictures, docs, etc…

I just stumbled upon Arian Design Boeing 737 addons. Any good? They're quite pricy and with PMDG and iFLY out there I wondered who and why buy these?

Hello guys, I've been reading a lot about OpusFSX, tried the demo and saw some videos and I have to say that I'm impressed. I have 2 question: 1- I've been reading on the Flight1 forum that at some point some users been having and issue at the moment that Opus inject the weather mostly because and FSX bug. Something about airspeed going way up for a second, and going back to normal. Is this still happening? I've never experienced anything similar with AS2012 or REX. 2- How is the weather over the ocean? When I load an aircraft in fsx in the virtual cockpit, I alway have to zoom out to see all of the panel. Is there a setting I can change to have the zoom where I initally want it? I use the hat switch to pan around the virtual cockpit, but the movment is so fast that I find it almost impossible to stop with the view I want. How can I fix this? Thanks Paul Burley

Hello, I am currently in flight between Cape Town and Johannesburg. Johannesburg Airport's new ICAO code FAOR is not recognized by Opus FSX as my destination airport. It's still the old one FAJS.

Hello guys, I write to this forum as my last resort before I guit using FSX and return to to FS 2004. First, is my system that bad?: AMD--FX-8150, (I know it's not intel) 8 GB ram, nividia GTX-650, (1 gig), I am getting in Corfu X airport, with FSX dowloaded wheather 6-11 FPS,(pmdg NGX) scales mid to left , either I must be doing something utterly wrong or my system is for the trash bin. I have tried many tweeks and suggestions to no avail, I have simply run out of ideas, even with the default cessna with unlimited frames I get at max 15 frames which can drop to 5 and then back to 15 (stutters?). Is the only solution to invest on a I7? Looking forward …

Now the American will merge with US Airways we will officially have only 4 major US airlines flying. We should be done with mergers now which is why it's such a bad time for WOAI to go under. For the models used it would be nice to get updated paints for the models used by these carriers in FS. It would save allot of time for those of use needing to get our sim looking like era 2013 versus 2008.

Looking at getting a DA40 for flight sim. Apparently there are at least two models available for FS, from LHC and IRIS. Having multiple choices is great, but it does make it harder to decide... Light on the frame rates, instruments that are readable from the VC and a good flight model are most important for me, but the quality and "feel" of the overall package almost matters.

Anyone been using this? I am thinking of monitoring my performance as atm I'm just guessing I'm flying correctly!

I want to change the default values for the viewpoint line in the aircraft.cfg file of an airplane. The view is too close to the panel. I want to move it back a little bit. What number do I adjust? In the VC I press CTRL + Enter 4 times and that's about perfect. How does that translate into changing the numerical value? Thanks

I am a plane spotter in real life and love going to the airport every chance I get just to watch the planes taxi, land, and take off. I tried doing this in FSX using some of the default views like tower and runway and can't really get anywhere. They're limited. Tried the advice that people suggested with turning on the pan mode with the shift+o I believe. Still doesn't work for me. So I tried using some helicopters and it was okay but difficult to control and get them to where I want, and then I tried the trike, works pretty well. But there has got to be a much easier and more intuitive way to do this? Perhaps slew mode or something else? In X-Plane 10 its quite easy to m…

Does EZ dok support 2d cockpit views? I still fly 2D with the PMDG 747X but am thinking about trying out the PMDG virutal cockpit, and just don't want to lose all the 2D views in the 747. I am afraid that once one reassigns the A and S keys in EZ dok that the 2D views will disappear. Getting them back might be difficult. Thanks Greg

I run FSX with REX, UTX, GEX, etc.. and in doing so I've noticed that night lighting is a bit "large" in spots. I've been tossing around ideas for developing products for FSX/P3D/XP10. Starting with a better ATC system for FSX/P3D -- FSX/P3D because it appears to currently hold a larger "spending" market ... however XP10 could certainly use a better ATC, but after looking at their SDK, I'm not sure much could be done -- hoping that improves over time as it would be nice to leverage my ATC work on more than just FSX/P3D. I find the ATC in FSX ok for basic A to B routing, but lacking in realism (hold patterns, weather redirects, emergency response, approaches, etc. etc.). I realize there are other products for "live ATC" but my interest is primarily in computer based ATC system…
