Folks, Is the DH2 Turbo Beaver and DH3 Turbo Otter an available aircraft on fsx? does a good one exist somewhere? Thanks

So far, I have standard FSX, to which, over the years, I've added FSGenesis mesh, as well as Ultimate Terrain X landclasses for North America and Europe and textures from GEX (North America) and REX Essentials + OverDrive, in that order. When I installed GEX-NA, I ran the backup program as part of the installation, and did the same for REX when I installed it later. So, if there's any overlap, I figure that the REX backup contains the previously-installed textures for GEX-NA, and the GEX-NA backup includes the default textures. I've just had to reinstall windows7 due to problems. FSX with many addons is still on the F drive and I would like to know if it is possible to reinstall FSX-Acceleration without uninstalling F drive. I realize a few files are installed to the C drive by default.

Has anyone done recent updates for default FSX aircraft FDE's? I don't fly them often but when I do, it would be nice to have them fly better than the default ones do, at least some of them (Mooney & Lear come to mind as the worst).

I'm looking for a nice turbo prop to fly around but it needs to have a high quality vc is there anything out there besides the pmdg j41

I have an issue in FS in London. I have Aerosoft VFR London X, UK2000 EGLC and ORBX FTX EU. FTX EU is set to EU, and I have tried (scenery library) no VFR London, VFR London above FTX and below UK2000, and UK2000 above VFR London. My issue is as follows - in the map, London is just a blue square (water). Without VFR London, there is just a big square of water with few buildings above it, but with VFR London there are only the buildings of UK2000 EGLC, and other than that, just flat ground scenery - obviously not the proper representation of London. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! -abasa12

Hi guys I have installed FSXFollow on my PC as well as the application on my ipad. I am extremely happy with this program as i can follow my plane's route on he ipad. I have though a small problem and i don't know how to solve it. I have created a plan with FSBuild and I have exported this plan to my PMDG 737 as well as to FSX. When I open the the FSXFollow application on my ipad, it had created the imported route in a green line starting from the departure airport to the arrival airport. So far so good. The problem that I have now is, every time I use this FSXFollow application with any other imported plan it always shows this green line from the previous route. I j…

Hello, today the ATC cleared me to land (@ Instanbul) runway 16L ILS... it was ZERO visibility but ILS aligned me good. As i began to see the runway, there was an ai plane on it taking off and... BOOM. ATC cleared me, and then didnt said me nothing, no go around... weird I am using mytrafficX 5.4.

Hello, I have tweaked the crap out of my FSX config, and FSX not only runs great but looks better as well. There is still one thing that nags the living crap out of me, its the sight distance. In real aviation I have never really been able to see past 20nm most of the time its between 8nm - 15nm. But FSX seems to like displaying something like 80nm. Is there a setting that I can use like in FS9 where you could limit view distance to around 20nm?

I went on BBS's facebook page and noticed a countdown happening. I own the BBS A32X v0.61 and I have to say out of the 3 'big' airbus developers, this one is the best system wise and the most stable (JUST MY OPINION-not trying to start a flame war here). Here's the picture in question. They seem to be teasing the A330! In comparison with other A330 engine pylons (look at the distinct 'kink'): This has me excited! I create flightplans i FSbuild2 but I leave out the SID and the STAR, when I import them into the pmdg 737ngx I have a hard time finding the right SID and STAR, even though I find proper SIDs and STARs online on airport charts it almost allways screws up when I try to insert them in the FMC... Sometimes the FMC tells me to go around in circles around the arrival airport and stuff like that, please help me, it would be much appriciated!

Flying the Default De Havilland Beaver, I don't see a heading bug on the bearing indicator, so how do I set the direction for the autopilot? Also, there are 2 Nav coms, but only 1 VOR dial. Is the second Navcom tuned to the ADF below the VOR? Any help would be appreciated. RDS

I occasionally click the update tab on my GEX North America and Europe, and found a few days ago that there is a major upgrade in both a unified program interface, as well as updated textures. Boy, was it! You have to (read the full instructions...) bring back your texture back-ups, then totally delete the programs you have. Then, you download the updated programs you previously owned, (for me, GEX North America and Europe) and armed with your installation password and product keys for those purchases you received from Flight1, you'll get a full and free upgrade to the new unified installation. Hello all, After almost a year of trying to setup FSX to get the highest Fps with the most graphics details I have now given up on that goal. Now I fly with no road traffics, 15-20% AI, Autogen at normal level, texture resolution at 4096, water at low2x, 1024 clouds texture, use the lowest settings for ORBX, so far so good, but I have not done any flight longer than 2 hrs. I would like to know from the community of people who have the same line of thinking as I do what other things I should also do to make sure that I can fly longer flights without CTD, OOM. For about the last month or so, I've been having problems with lower than usual framerates in FSX. It was especially bad at UK2000 London Heathrow where my frame rates went into the lower teen or single digits. In an act of desperation I uninstalled all of my addons and FSX, reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled FSX, UTX, GEX and FS Genesis mesh along with My Traffic X and UK2000 Heathrow. I fired it up but got the same result. I used the Aerosoft Airbus as my test plane. On runway 9R with 30% AI, I was getting around 12-13 FPS. One thing I did notice was that when I paused the sim my FPS doubled. I also noticed that sometimes my textures are slow to load when the sim…

I apologize if I'm not in the right place to discuss this topic. But I need some help witih my newly installed Acceleration software. At first, from an exterior view when I tried hooking up to the cat, I could see the bar com down when I did a shift + U. Also, I could see the tailhook deploy and retract with shift +Q. However, they no longer do that. Nothing happens when I do the shift +U or shift +Q. And the blast shield never did raise at all. Also, when following procedures for a cat shot, whenever I advanced the throttle prior to triggering the cat with a shift +spacebar, the plane would immediately accelerate down the deck as if not connected to the cat, so th…

Hello all, after flying happily using Prepar3d for the last 6 months (and many years before with FSX), I have encountered a silly problem that simply has me baffled. I started my sim this morning after I installed REX Latitude (I doubt this was the culprit) and for some reason, the flap and landing gear switches no longer function - either on the keyboard or the Saitek X52. I can see the flap switch/gauge budge when I hit the switch but it stays in retracted position, as does the landing gear. All other buttons and switches work (keyboard and joystick). I tried going back to default settings, using keyboard only etc etc, rebooting, system restore, lighting a dozen can…

Hello, I'm hoping someone might be able to help with my below problems regarding rex ess plus w/ O/D. I've also posted on the Rex forums, but they are pretty slow and I don't even have access to the support forums - so not quite sure that will be of any use. I purchased REX Ess Plus w O/D yesterday evening, and downloaded the full 8.5Gb zip file using a download manager. Now downloaded, I am attempting to install and have no success at all. I've followed the instructions in the manual for required FSX settings, and am staring at page 8 right now for all the instructions (e.g., where to install etc). I know there are many topics on camera configurations etc. but does anyone have a definitive (and easy) guide to setting up of locked spot views of different aircraft in FSX? Currently I have a start up flight which has the default B738 sitting on the ramp on locked spot view at a zoom of 0.70 which looks nice on my 22in. screen. However, when I load another aircraft the same zoom view either has the aircraft too close or too far away and I have to adjust the zoom to get the spot view set properly. Can this view be set by default for every time I load a particular aircraft? Thanks Shez
