Fsx is a changed sim since all my GA flying has moved to p3d v2 I decided to do a clean install of FSX for airliners only(pmdg)and only reinstalled the basics. FTXG, Flytampa Dubai,FSDT KLAX,PHNL,KLAS,CYVR,PMDG NGX, 777 , Rex Essentials, Shade and, Steve's DX10 fixer. With only those addons installed my loading time from clicking the icon on the desktop to the setup screen of the sim has dropped from 10 min to about 45 sec. And my fps have increased a lot aswell. On the ground at KLAX in the NG I used to get about 12-17 fps now I get from 20-28. I was going to pay to have the NGX and 777 on p3d v2 but after seeing how good fsx I think P3d will be a GA only sim for sometim…

I keep getting flashing black skys and textures often after I press certain keys such as full flap ke (F8) or try to start instant replay (1st image). The problem will exist until I restart the sim and even the opening screen will show black everything (second picture). Following is the information about my rig and FSX. FSX Accelaration (SP2), UT GEX USA i7 920 OC to 3.8ghz NVidia GTX275, Driver 331.82 12 MB Triple Channel RAM Windows 7 64bit

Take a look at the Myo gesture control armband. It looks like a replacement for the mouse (ie you could press, dial and pull buttons in your virtual cockpit). Pair this with an Oculus Rift and it'll be mind blowing!

Runway markings stand out too much. I have attached a screenshot below. Is this normal? Anyway to reduce the effect?

Hi all- I've reestablished a flying relationship with the Eaglesoft Citation X and forgot how glossy the exterior model is. Is there a way to reduce this via one of the dds files in the texture folder or....? Thanks, Mark

Hey guys, I am looking for the best KLAX scenery other than the FSDT offering. Theirs is no doubt the best but I can't fly there with PMDG and my other addons without it hitting the VAS limits. I don't want to give up flying to LAX so I''m hoping you guys could point me in the right direction for the next best LAX scenery, whether it is freeware or payware. Thanks!

I'm sure there's no definitive answer to this, but what are people's favourite AI traffic solutions. I must say it's an area I've neglected and I'm weighing up the available options at the moment, but I'm keen to get some personal opinion on the various options. I'm perfectly happy paying for a solution if the payware options are better than the free ones. Ideally I'm looking for up to date liveries and schedules as the primary requirement, and then the higher the FPS the better as the secondary consideration. Thanks all

I like the JF L-1011. A very good add on if you don't mind flying "lite" aircraft. JF claims the sound is by Turbine Sound Studios. Now, I'm a huge fan of TSS and use their sound sets on just about all my planes, but, the sound in the L-1011 VC is a joke. It's almost dead quiet in there when engines are at idle or you're just taxiing. The external sound is very good, but I don't get why the VC is so quiet unless you're increasing the throttle for take off and when you're in flight. It doesn't sound like a TSS sound set to me (even though it probably is). Maybe JF edited the sound? The issue I mentioned ruins the whole experience for me. I think I'm going to us…

I use a combination of WOAI FS9 and FSX traffic files. I store the bgl files in a custom folder (not in scenery/world/scenery). This is a picture showing WOAI + FSX default traffic at default ENGM, which shouldn't be possible when using FS9 bgls. Good evening, I have recently noticed that my performance has dropped during flight, especially when panning. I think I have determined it was due to slow scenery/texture loading. I cant remember exactly when this started, but it is fairly recent. Any ideas what would case this to be an issue? Thanks.

I have a problem in FSX that is driving me nuts. I never had it with FS9 running XP. I'm wondering if it's a OS problem or an FSX one. In short, when I press some GoFlight buttons configured as key presses or even the keyboard itself I keep hearing a 'ding' from the speakers. The GoFlight commands are executed but the keyboard ones aren't. The easiest one to replicate is CTRL+Shift+W to display the AES menu. I've tried running Windowed and full screen mode and it happens in both modes. If I switch from full-screen into windowed mode it does cure the problem for a while but it does return. Is anyone else suffering this problem and do you have a solution? I do h…

Hey Guys, I just wanted to know about ur views on this aircraft TU 204/214. It just to me it dosn't look right, it dosnt sit well on the runway. To me the front if the aircraft seems to sit higher than the rear and the wing design looks so simple. I mean to me this aircraft could never even come close to being in the same league as a Boeing 757. And also these Russian PS-90a turbofans are rubbish and unreliable. Does anybody agree or do any if you guys have a different view on this?

Until Majestic release their P3Dv2 installer, I have installed the Q400 into P3Dv2 using the Estonia Migration tool. After loading up the Q400, I find that I have no panel displays in the VC? The 2D popup views work fine for all panels (PFD/MFD/Engine Display/FMS/ARCDU) but they are all blanked out in the VC. I have updated the Q400 to Version 1.008 with the hotfix. Anybody else having this display issue with the Q400 and P3Dv2? Any ideas how to fix? Thanks!

So I got cocky and cleaned up the FSX custom buttons section - now I can't display my FPS by pressing control V...I can't find the Event where I deleted the keyboard shortcut so I can put it back. Any help would be appreciated. Just read my post - maybe I wasn't correct by calling it FPS - I'm asking about the Frame Rate that appears in the upper left hand corner of the screen. Thanks.

Hello, Guys! You please see photo: So are these flight paths/vectors same as real World or these are simulator's own? Real World Pilots and Airlines use the same paths as given in FSX? What do you guys say? I think I've not asked this question before. :rolleyes: .

Hi everyone, I have recently purchased and installed FSX Gold Edition. I have an issue in the sense that the in game graphics do not display at all well. They are the wrong colours (lots of reds and greens) and look like double vision. Here are some screen shots on the in play issues: Before installing the full game version I was running the FSX demo on Windows 8.0. The demo ran fine. However between installing the demo and installing the full game version Windows updated to Windows 8.1. I am unsure if this has anything to do with the issues? I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the program a couple of times but it doesn't seem to make any difference. I …

Well, I spent over a week getting my new system on line exclusively for FS X. I've been flying around just looking at stuff at tweaking the FS.cfg according to the various guides and checking the differences in various settings. All going fine except for one thing. It seems that whenever I find myself on short final at the end of a long flight at even a moderately complex airport the frame rate drops from the preset 30 to 15 or lower. Then the oddest thing I park the aircraft and shut down and I'm seeing 15. GPU and CPU temps are low, and CPU and GPU loads are low. So I close FS X, shut down the machine, reboot, launch FS X and voila I'm seeing 30 again even with aircraft…

Hi. Few days ago I asked here a question which was thoroughly answered - I asked about default jets overhauls, so I can get more out of the game, not paying much in the meantime. I own REX, FTX Global, GEX and Accufeel, but now it is time for some real flying. After watching some Youtube vids, I decided, that 737 NGX is my only way to go. This plane looks great, has great physics and is a masterpiece for FSX. But as a Sim-Pilot not RealWorld-Pilot I am definetly not into reading few hundred pages of manuals. When departing from KRNO...Reno, NV I'm always confused by the SID. The initial part of the SID has an aircraft flying over the FMG VOR. The FMG VOR is almost at a 90 degree angle East of runways 16R or 16L. It seems impractical to fly a heading departure of around 160 degrees then to make a turn of 120 degrees or so to FMG. I guess my question is: in the real world would aircraft departing from KRNO be expected to pass over the FMG VOR?

this makes me happy since I use fsx and I must fix it: when I load aircraft or the aircraft is shown on the screen after loading a flight it first flashes the monitor with a completly white screen. This also happens when I open up a panel window i.e the gps the very first time. Very annoying. I know about the tooltips-bug and the bloom settings. This not the solution on my system. Does anyone know something else?

Hi All, I was wondering if any one can help, I just realized that all my water are in the Caribbean area, is now land. actually most of it. Now I don't remember witch scenery I installed last, since I had this problem, as I just did a flight in the Carib. In FSCommander I see it is suppose to be water. Now is there a way to restore what I had, or do I have to re-install FSX. I hope this is not the answer, as I have lots of add-ons. Is it a problem with a file, or scenery.cfg or something else. I'm interested in buying Saitek's MFD for its autopilot controls, but the main use I have for the autopilot in planes at the moment is following the FSX flight plan that is loaded in automatically by FSX. I find this a great use of the autopilot on its own. I think I've read every review of this item out there on the Net, but can't see any reference at all to flight plans. Does anyone who has one of these know if it has that capability? I'm sort of assuming it does, since it must connect with the autopilot in the plane very closely .... Any help appreciated!
