OK, I hold my hands up... I still can't fly the Majestic Q400 properly. I can get her up and running from C&D but still need to spend some more time reading the manual about programming the FMC and associated stuff. But that's not my problem, the problem is actually handling this girl. I don't quite know what the issue is, but for some reason, regardless of how I have the controllers set up in FSUIPC, the plane always feels like I'm trying to keep a soggy wet slab of lard on an overinflated life raft!! She floats this way and floats that way, as well as ballooning up and down, it doesn't feel very realistic at all. Does anyone else have this problem? Or can someone po…

I have the CLS DC-10 and I know this has probably been asked before, but are there any lines that I could replace in the aircraft cfg to make it perform in a realistic manner? I have tried flying it and I think it is just a waste because it is flying so stiff-like. I can pull back on the stick and be barely climbing. I have tried trim, but that is not the best combo as the plane just starts to climb out of control and I can't even push the nose down. It also does a horrible job at leveling of because of this. I may be climbing at 1800fpm and it will continue it when I have reached 500 feet over said altitude. Then it takes its time at correcting causing ATC to freak out. …

I posted this in Rotorheads but no replies yet, or even views! I recently purchased the Cera 412EP looking for a decent 412 sim. I can get the engines started but the rotor RPM sticks around 100, just won't get moving. Fuel pressure is good, temps are good, engines running fine, followed the checklists.... Any ideas? (I have asked Cera but no reply as yet).

I have win 8.1 and I can only use fsx with the dx10 option. Do any of you know a solution to this problem.

well, i was getting ctdt from this new windows 8 computer. i lowered a couple settings a notch and bang! stable as can be. woot! however, i am getting some jaggies, can someone direct me how tro eliminate or lessen them? also, is there any setting i should be applying to my video card? also, i dont know how i am supposed to set my filtering. anyone? thanks in advance for any help/advice

Thanks to the enhanced G1000 from SCUMARI Tec [enhanced_garmin_g1000.zip] and the C172 panel rar file on their website, the default C172 G1000 panel has been improved. A G700-like autopilot on the G1000 means the panel AP can be replaced by an ADF. A Reality XP GNS530 is ‘driving things’ in the background in the attached picture. Thank you Rick!

hi I have just reinstalled fsx im using some orbx scenery as well whenever I start fsx I always get snow on the ground even if I download real weather I still get snow on the ground even if its raining any help please thanks jim

NOAA Server Down ... The NOAA weather server has changed or been upgraded as part of ongoing work. We have amended the software to communicate with the new NOAA server and will post a new Release Version 3.42 as soon as possible. Most likely tomorrow PM. For the time being please select one of the other weather server options (VATSIM or IVAO) in the Opus Weather Downloads dialog. Alternatively you can select Historic Weather as there have been no changes to the cycle data access. Stephen

I'm getting back into the FSX arena, and am a little overwhelmed with the choices of add-ons. Can I get please get some recommendations for what I should purchase regarding good scenery/texture enhancements and a good live weather generator? I'm thinking REX + Activesky (not sure which version I should go for). My system is i5 4670k currently at 3.4ghz (can oc to 4.0ghz so far), 760 GTX, 8gb ram My goals are to have nice scenery additions above the default textures, with nice live weather with realistic layers and nice textures for the clouds, sky, etc in conjunction with the live weather. Been making a lot of updates on my system after replacing my old video card. In making some changes to the fsx.cfg file, I noticed it still listed my old video card so I decided to remove it after having read that if you do this, fsx will re-make a new one the next time it starts up. My problem is that it doesn't appear to have been re-made. It's no longer in the file where it was originally. I kept the old file in another folder for safe-keeping. Any ideas on why this would be? Path I'm using is C:users/name/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/FSX Files are not hidden because it was there originally. Mitch

Hello. My computer just got back out of repair. New motherboard and graphics cards. And since its a new year, I wanted to reinstall FSX. Once I got all my addons uninstalled, it was time to remove the actual game. But when I ran the uninstaller from Programs, it wanted me to put in Disk 1. I did, and it gave me an error message and quit. And same thing with all the disks, when I put them in the drive, the computer would detect they are there, but wouldn't run the FSX install on the DVD's, a few min. later, it would tell me FSX DVD Check has failed. Hi, When I fly A321, I noticed that there is no stall speed indicator on the speed bar of MFD. I tried to stall at high altitude and the speed just go down, then autothrottle engages and tries to save me from stalling. Red bar in 737 is just perfect. I googgled, and in real A321 stall and max speeds are really displayed on MFD. Is there a way to fix?? Quite useful on landings. Thanks in advance.

Hi Stephen, (long time no see... everything was nice and running smoothly... until) yesterday I was flying MN513, 737NGX from FALA (Lanseria, RSA) to FALE (Durban's new airport) and shortly after starting my descend FSX crashed entirely. Since then some stuff is rather strange. 1. The Opus FSI Server windows' button 'Weather' shows now steadily 'Updating' shaded. 2. The FSX Opus Weather Report window does not show the GRIB downloading windows automatically. 3. If I chose 1 - Local Area Weahter Report it says ' 1 - No Weather Available At Present'. Am I going crazy or are all the wind effects in fsx backwards? For example, taking off on runway 10, with the wind coming from 150 degrees. In reality the wind blows from 150 degrees so from the right of you to the left if on runway 10. But in FSX, if you start your takeoff roll, your airplane wants to go to the RIGHT, in the direction of the wind from 150 degrees. That makes no sense. The wind should be blowing you to the left, and you should be correcting into the wind. Same with landing. But the wind seems to work the opposite way on landing too. Instead of flying into the wind, you are doing the opposite. If the wind is coming from your left on approac…

So after seeing Chibera (Chicago over the past week) photos and flying at night for a while in fsx, I've noticed that night and snow is rather weird in the sim. All of the planes are dark at night on the ground, and snow doesn't accumulate on planes. basically whats in the photo below isn't in the sim. https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/551x532q90/839/oehq.jpg The snow is just me wanting to see something super realistic, but the night thing is an issue. When i was using FS9 my old PC was this: CPU: AMD 5200+ Dual Core RAM: 2GB @1066Mhz MOBO: Gygabyte (Dont remind the Chipset) GPU: Nvidia 630 2GB DDR3 And i was able to fly at 30FPS averytime even with that quality, using REX HD textures, full AI, AS6.5, and some airplanes like Carenado.. Hello!Why is it I can't pan around in my virtual cockpit?I look straight ahead, when I click on my middle mouse button and move my mouse, it does not pan around for some reason, I'm just fixed straight ahead. Any ideas? Thank you!

I am looking to generate interest in forming a new group. North South and South West seem well catered for but nothing in the middle. Just need a few to get us started then we can sort venues etc. Martin Madden
