I recently had an external hard drive fail. I kept many side programs on there that did not require being on main FSX SSD drive. One of those was WoAI. I still have the traffic in FSX and the SimObject folder still contains all the WoAI files, but now the newly downloaded WoAI installer does not show any airlines installed. Is there a way to have WoAI repopulate the installed airlines section? ("Expert" mode) I already made sure the file locations are all pointed to the right place.

Hi, Can anyone help with this problem that I ended up with after using "mklink /j" to move my complete FSX folder to a new drive. Some files got corrupted during the transfer but these I managed to repair with my FSX CD. However I am currently left with a shader problem, FSX crashes out with the following error.... initialising shader enviroment device->GetBackBuffer failed I have rerun Steves DX10 scenery fixer incase that might have fixed things - but no change. Any help would be appreciated. Regards Barry

Hi Because of great advices which Avsim community provided to me I decided to buy PMDG 737 NGX some time ago. While later I also bought 600/700 expansion and I have to admit - I don't want to sit in any Airbus ever again. I love this piece of art. But I was searching for a good plane to perform long routes and started to think about 747 PMDG. Still it is not the newest plane and plane looks are also important to me. After many, many years in the FS world I've just received a new problem. After I load FSX and try to load or create an FS flight plan, the system locks up. Not a crash to desktop just a freeze. In order to get out of this situation I use alt/ctrl/del. Once back at my home screen an error message appears as follows: "This feature requires that (smartassembly) is available on this computer".There is no error number, just the text as listed. Further, if I load my default aircraft, go to the airport I would use in the flight plan and then try to open the flight plan it sometimes works. Otherwise, FSX works just fine without any probl…

I've installed the 1.008 Hotfix 1 (URL to the JustFlight hotfix page) and am conducting new tests - really interested in the brake temperature tweaks.... ^_^

I'm looking for some tips some of you might have in my attempt to make flying the big jets as real as possible. Here is the way I currently fly the PMDG 737. First I go to FlightAware.com and find the route I would like to travel. I generally try to keep the flights relatively short. For example, from Las Vegas (KLAS) to Los Angeles (KLAX) I find another 737 flying the route BOACH5, HEC, RIIVR2 at 28,000 feet. Then I go to Liveatc.net to the destination airport (KLAX), and listen in for the current active landing runways. In this case, it seems 25L and 24R are active for arrivals. I choose 25L for programming the FMC and will ignore FSX. Then I tune in the depart…

hey everyone have a coupel questions regarding waves I'm running FSX in DX10 mode with the fixer water looks good however i have some questions regarding what appears to be wave layers seems as though i have a static wave pattern over the top of animates waves below I have included a picture to help make sense and marked it up best i could Is this normal? is there a way to improve this or is it another fsx issue I'm using UTX FTX ASN REX Direct 4 i also have the FSWC Lite for DX10 i pretty much have all the toys to have awesome water however i think something is not set right here any insight would be great all the be…

Hi All Sadly Flightsim Greenland has closed. You can still buy their Commercial Products via SimMarked. But their freeware Scenery seams impossible to find. Does any of you guys have the Freeware Scenery Narsarsuaq X, or know where to get it. Regards Henrik Korning

Hi everyone i just bought DBS Airport GPS, because is started using pro atc and i couldn't find my way arround bigger airports. I installed it without problems, activated without problems but it doesn't do anything in fsx. I usually fly the pmdg737ngx, and when i click on add to panel, it says "can't add to aircraft panel". When i use a default airplane, it says "succesfully added to panel", but when i want to open it, nothing happens. Can somebody please help me? Gr Ruud

Hi everyone, I currently have version 1.006 installed and see the Dash is up to version 1.008 and also then the hot fix for that. Do I have to install 1.007, then 1.008, then the hotfix in that order, or is the the 1.008 update cumulative.. then i would install just the hot fix after that??? I fell behind a bit as you can see. Just got REX Essentials Plus Overdrive. I spent the morning trying different cloud textures and themes but I could not reproduce something like this screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/UPg52WF.png (From max737ifly's YouTube video) Looks extremely realistic and just like the clouds that would be use in movies. Does anyone know the theme or texture set that was used for those clouds in the screenshot? The video description says it's REX Essentials Plus textures, but so far I haven't had any luck. Thanks !

Howdy all, I just recently did a clean re install of FSX and since then I have been having problems where my aircraft textures disappear when the cockpit lights are turned on. This has happened to me with the Aerosoft AirbusX Extended (turned on Cockpit lights and the tail of the exterior model and all of the paneling of the VC disappeared.) I then did a flight with FeelThere's EJets (E175). The flight started out at dawn and the cockpit lights were on, and everything looked good. I am looking for basically three things to run as addons with my FSX installation: Realistic Terrain (mountains, valleys, rivers, streets, buildings, etc.) Realistic weather (clouds, skies, sun, day/night, weather,etc.) Realistic crew (flight attendant custom announcements) I've seen ORBX but not sure which one to get...seems to be too many options... just need one that will handle all the terrain. I've seen REX but also Active SKy - which performs better (san francisco fog appearance) I've seen FS Cabin Crew and FSPassengers... are these outdated? are there better ones?

Hi Awl: I have 5.1 surround working in other games. I try it in FSX and I hear only stereo sound. I went into the FSX sound settings and selected default driver and speaker setting( which I use) to no avail. I also have selected 5.1 and 7.1 sound in the windows drivers and in the realtek HDaudio manager,all to no avail. I turned on speaker fill as well without success. I am connecting my onboard audio to my pioneer receiver using the analog output ports on the main board. (asus m5a88-v) I also have tried optical link but could not get any surround sound, only 2.0 stereo output in all games. I would prefer optical, but from what I am reading this is buggy on win7 …

I can get the ifly 737 upgrade to FSX for 15$, or buy the NGX completely new. I'm inclined to think that there wouldn't be enough of a difference to justify the extra money. Is this a safe assumption? Can someone who owns both outline the merits/disadvantages of each with respect to each other? thanks

Hey Firstly, Sorry if this is in the wrong place, I'm a bit confused as to where to post I've been looking at getting a payware aircraft for FSX, i'm looking at the CLS 767 or QualityWings 757 My system specifications are on the low side (2.0GHZ dual core, 4GB ram, windows 7) and I'm wondering which would be better, the CLS 767 has lower system requirements, but isn't as imersive on the FMC etc. Any ideas, Cheers Zipp

I use PFPX for planning flights, and Flight Sim Commander for connecting with FSX, for route stuff, like time left, so i know where the AI is etc. I have a weird issue with the navigraph updates. PFPX will build a route, I export the route to FS commander, and when I open that flight plan up it tells me there are some waypoints that don't exist in the current cycle. However I've just discovered that if I copy that route, paste it, then it will let me save it in FSC. My question, is do I contact one or all of them, if only one, who do I contact? Oh and they are both using the same cycle.

Is there an add on that would put a weather / topographic map right in the screen in the cockpit?

I continue to enjoy the excellent flight dynamics on this Q-400. One of the tests I have run was a critical engine failure. I killed my left engine. Prop autofeather was engaged. After a while I noticed the turn & slip cue had the slip bar displaced to the left ( same side of the failled engine ) instead of to the right as it should. Sometimes I was able to get a slight right displacement, but as soon as I used even the slightest right rudder / rudder trim input, the slip indicator would move to the left. Does REX4 interfere with addon airports, like taxi and runway textures?

With the disappointing news, at least last time I checked, that it will be a long time, to never that RC5 will not be released (please correct me if there is more recent news) I was wondering what newer options there were as far as ATC goes? I've tried pro atc x, and it seemed like there was just one voice for an entire world of aircraft, surely you could have found one other friend or something to make it a little bit more believeable? RC4 doesn't have hundreds of voices or anything, but at least it rarely sounds like one guy talking to himself. Is there anything else out there that is eitehr complete or still in development that would be worth it?

Yesterday, after having already upgraded to 1.008, I tried again the tutorial flight. After following all of the steps, and with the engines started and ready for taxi, I could see the steering tiller moving, but also the throttles moved asymmetricaly, in a way that makes sense because it would help the turn ( if to the left, the right throttle is advanced and the left kind of retracted... ), but I didn't see this menstioned in the Manual? Also, and this is more problematic, the nose wheel didn't move :-/ Any suggestions ?
