Now that the Lockheed Martin P3D team has discovered a FSX legacy issue while working on the P3D V2 update concerning micro stutters, will the fix translate over to FSX ?, hopefully we can be rid of the micro stutters once and for all.

Hi i have several concern at the moment . I know pretty soon FTX Global will be release so i notice they have the night light effect also does this mean i will have to choose from turning the night light On or OFF for me to used either Experience X or FTX Night Lights ? What is going to happen with Experience X ? I know many people will purchase FTX Global so i think for those of us who own Experience X will have to choose between FTX Night Lights or Experience X. I enjoy very much Experience X Night Lights but FTX Lights are also great . :mellow:

I've been away from flight simming-- but just recently got back into it and installed Rex 4 and ASN. The last piece of the latest upgrade binge appears to be the DX10 Fixer program (or so I think). I don't have DX10 preview mode selected, and was wondering if it is worth getting this program and setting FSX to use DX10?? I've seen comparison screenshots of FSX in both DX 9/10 modes and to be honest other than some shadow and water shades I don't see a big difference. Also, worth noting, I use the Shade program. So should I upgrade this or use the cash on something else? Thanks!

I'm a newbie to FSX, but I want to 'take it to the next level' with SIDS/STARS etc. I've been following several guides explaining how to create a flight plan with SIDS/STARS etc. using FlightSim Commander. However, I used to fly with the default ATC but I can't get it to work with the SIDS/STARS - actually I have no idea how to use the ATC and follow my flight plan at the same time. Hello Simmers! Having recently attained/purchased both TrackIR and EZDok camera, I've been quite elated about the new possibilities for views in the sim. There's been an issue, though, that's made this rather difficult. I've experienced this in the NGX, T7 and the Majestic DH4, or in other words every aircraft I've tried the two with. This may have been an issue before TrackIR (which came after EZDok), though I don't believe to this severity. Simply put, my FPS will occasionally drop to a very low value, stay there for a few seconds, and finally return to normal (around 8FPS dropping to 1-3FPS). I'm having a bit of trouble with the carrier of Javier. The carrier is not deck doesn't seem to be visible. It's just gone. I just re installed everything since I reformatted my computer. I used the tweaking guide that froogle advised to used, and I've got some add ons, like FXAA, Shade, REX and FTX Global installed, however, these add ons haven't caused any trouble for me previously. I bought REX 4 Texture Direct and I am wondering about if I should by ASN or wait for the REX to release the new weather engines they have been speaking about. I have never used ASN before or any of their products only used REX 2 and before REX 4 I had REX Essentials plus OD. What are your thoughts?

Hi Everyone I have been simming for many years mainly in Orbx Au land and had a free AI Traffic programme which populated my major and minor airports with pretty realistic AI traffic. Recently I have purchased several payware US and Canadian airports (PANC, CYVR, KLAX KDFW KMIA) which all look fantastic except for the fact they do not have much traffic showing up despite having up to 30% FSX airline AI Traffic dialled in. Even then, the ones showing are terrible fsx default models and liveries not even remotely realistic. I don't really want to spend a huge amount on fancy payware AI programmes but to get something even remotely realistic in this region like my Orbx …

My friend is new to FSX and he had installed it into his program files on his hard drive. He recently bought a SSD and he said he copied it over to his SSD. It worked a few times he stated but now everytime he tries to start FSX it comes up and says it is not installed and won't work. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I want to get him back up and flying again. Thanks.

I have been surprised to read comments by many flightsimmers who say they own multiple weather engines. This makes no sense to me. Its like buying 4 different vendors version of the same B737. Waste of money *in my opinion if I did this*. There are much better areas of FSX to spend money on including textures, airplanes and more! Hi everybody. I've been looking for a new ATC for many reasons (you can check my older post to see exactly why). I watched a Radar Contact 4 video, and the voices sounded to robotic, but the video was from 2010, so I don't know if that's different today? I want the ATC to control the AI traffic, I want it to work with SIDS/STARS and not telling me to turn in another direction all the time (see my older post), and I want the voices to be as realistic as possible. Due to a hard drive crash I am reinstalling FSX and various addon programmes. I have just tried to install Switzerland Professional Xbut am told it is still installed and to uninstall fisrt. However a thorough search does not reveals any previous installation and I amtherefore unable to install SPX once again.I can only assume there is a file tucked away somewhere that was put in with the original installation but does anyone know if this could bethe case and where I would find it??Any advice would be gratefully receivedMany thanksGeorge

I'm currently having niggling problems with my trim wheel, and I find I keep going to a default set up, where I know the plane flies true, the airport is sound .... I use a Carenado Piper PA-28 at EGNJ Humberside airport. I've used the same plane at the same airport for any calibration checks. Over and over again. I wondered if anyone else had a 'test set-up' ....?

Hello, just got REX 4 today! I picked all my textures, saved as a theme and clicked install then. It took less than 5 seconds before it said Installation successful. When I open up FSX, the textures have not changed? I checked the textures folder in the FSX folder and the last data modified was before I got REX 4, so the new textures weren't installed. Any ideas what's going on? I already put in the directory of my FSX folder in the settings and REX 4 is installed on my C Drive while FSX is located in the D drive. Cheers!

So I've been having a little dilemma regarding FPS in my flight simulator. Playing FSX on a laptop, there are rare opportunities to get great frame rates with today's complex addons. I have fiddled with the settings a great amount, although I have increased the scenery settings to accommodate FTX Global.The one thing that I don't really know what to do with is AI traffic. I don't know how to get past the "dead skies" feel of having no AI, which seems to take away the aspects of realism greatly (there are almost always other aircraft in the skies and at airports in reality). Hi all. I'm trying to add a bit more depth into my flight planning process. I normally use SimRoutes but I was wondering if there was anything better and relatively easy to use. Fuel planning help would be a nice bonus. However, I don't really want to shell out $60 for PFPX, so does anyone have any recommendations for a free flight planner?

For those who haven't partaken of the latest offering from Lockheed Martin rest assured FSX will compete well with it for some time to come. This is coming from someone who has had a very hard time since V2's debut w/ logging virtually any hours on the 'old' platform, which is of course a testament to how good V2 can look and feel. But it's very unpolished, incomplete, and has situations that IMHO do not compete well w/ the venerable sim. The standard reply to this is that this is to be expected.
