SIM720 is pleased to present EGPO Stornoway Airport. Remember this product can be purchased through the AVSIM Marketplace EGPO Stornoway is the 2nd Scottish airport from SIM720 and complements the EGEO Oban Airport released one month ago. It was first discovered by the RAF long before there was landing ground for wheeled aircraft, when a flying boat landed in the local harbour back in 1928. EGPO Stornoway lies East of the town of Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis, in the Outer Hebrides. Now operated by HIA (highlands and islands airports), the airport provides domestic passenger services (over 125,000 passengers a year) as well as hosting the HM Coastguard helicopter sear…

Hey all, Firstly can I congratulate OPUS on a outstanding piece of software. I've used the weather engine for some time now but recently I decided to give the camera a try. Having learned how to use the camera effectively I can't go back to any other camera software, it's an essential part of my sim experience. I know there are many posts about the benefits of mapping the live camera to a controller but it's not something I want to do. I like being able to hold down the middle mouse button, move the camera, let go and click on the desired switch. I know EZDOK do it very effectively, so I was wondering why OPUS haven't implemented this feature! …

Tried two different TNCM addons and have a different issue with each. 1. TNCM Update 1 by Robert Fitz has two hangars on the west end ramp near the approach end of Rwy 10. The hangar objects are there, but completely black, i.e. no textures. It seems odd since one of the .bmp files shows them in green and blue. All other scenery in his addon renders correctly. They look like they might come from EZ-Hangar. If they are, where would I install the EZ Hangar scenery and textures? I got no reply from Robert Fitz email address, so suspect he may have moved on to other things. 2. Juliana2.zip for TNCM by Christian Deblond for FS2004 was a great work when I used FS9. But …

I have asked this question before, but I would like to get confirmation from multiple responders. Basically, I have stutters at the very largest airports when there are large numbers of AI planes there. The framerates are pretty good. It's just those annoying stutters. I have noticed that reducing the AI to around 50% can virtually eliminate the stutters, but I want to know if purchasing a new graphics card with a greater amount of VRAM would help. I currently have a 1GB GeForce GTX 560Ti, and I was wondering if upgrading to (for example) a 2GB GeForce GTX 760Ti would reduce those stutters. Would FSX utilise the increased amount of VRAM? If so, would this help my stut…

Folks Is there a light twin out there that doesn't have a GPS in it? The Islander is the closest I've got (or the Rapide, but I'm hoping for something a little later...). This is where a good period Aztec would come in. Mike

Just a HU that Real New Zealand Wellington for FSX, by Godzone Virtual Flight, has been released as freeware. It has photoreal coverage of a huge area (50x70km) around Wellington and a good rendition of NZWN airport. Highlights include with custom terminals, runways and photoreal ground. The developer advises that it is not compatible with FTX NZ. Here is a link to the product page with download links and videos: http://www.windowlight.co.nz/store/index.php?main_page=page&id=70&chapter=2

I've been a simmer for a few years now. However, in a recent move I managed to lose the card with my Serials on it. I called Microsoft, even provided them with pictures of the disks, codes on the disks and codes from the manual, but they we're unwilling to help me retrieve a new serial. Has anyone ever retrieved a new serial? I know there are work arounds, but I'd rather have a real license and be able to update to Acceleration, considering that I have purchased the Deluxe for a reason. Thanks for the help! Hello! I have the Q400 purchased since it was released, but doesn't fly with it. I don't know how to use VNAV and descent... I'm familiar with NGX etc but no with turboprop... I'm interested in learning the Q400, and I want to know a good zone it fly it, with ORBX scenery for example or another one... With a real livery and real flight plans... I always fly in Spain (I'm Spanish) but I know no Q400 operators in Spain... Where I can fly? EEUU? Australia? Enviado desde mi iPhone 5S con Tapatalk

Lets get ready to rumble!!!!! Never in the history of Microsoft Flight Simulator 10 have we had so many graphic choices. DX9, DX10 with the DX10 Fixer and now P3Dv2 DX11. Wow. So I got to thinking it was time for a showdown. This is the same scenery loaded (FTXGlobal 1.2), same plane (Duke v2.0), same time and season (Summer Day), same weather (Cold Fronts) and same airport (KSEA) with P3Dv2 dialed as closely to the same settings I have for FSX (DX9 and 10 have the exact same settings and I have all shadows turned off in P3D although some cockpit shadows only cost a few fps). As you look at these you will notice that P3Dv2 has lower fps. But looking at the last co…

Once again I am on the hunt for a good ATC program and am wondering if anybody can give me a opinion on VOX ATC through hands on experience. The review below is of V6.0 and sounds impressive and I understand there is a major update (V6.2) now available. http://www.mutleyshangar.com/reviews/jack/vatc/vatc.htm FYI, I did try V5 some time back and could not get it to work with UT2, however I now own and use MTX, which I do not hear so much discussion on its compatibility with VOX ATC. Your input would be appreciated. Thanks,

What might cause the FSX.cfg file to be automatically changed each time FSX is launched? I've encountered this bizarre problem for the first time beginning yesterday, when the only change I made to my installation was an update of FSUIPC. Now, each time I run FSX, I have to re-register dlls, reset key display settings, etc. Needless to say, this state of affairs is unacceptable. But I am at a loss as to the reason for this. I've tried reverting to an earlier version of FSUIPC that had worked without issue, but the issue remains, and I'm not even sure the module is responsible. Has anyone experienced this before and, if so, how can it be rectified? Thanks in…

I went on there and I barely understand a thing in there, most of it is unfamiliar to me. Does anyone use this or has anyone used this? What are your thoughts? A wealth of information can be inputted and then you can create printable maps, Operational Flight Plans, METAR data, Airport/ILS information, I'm not quite sure about it's accuracy in that respect though. If you can't find a flight plan, just enter the departure and arrival airports, and it will link you to routefinder, simroutes, or flightaware to find a route. It connects with FSUIPC, FSX, and ACARS for your VA if you set it up that way. You can also export the flight plans to PMDG, LEVELD, FSX default, …

How exactly is one supposed to hand-land the Q400. Here is the situation - I am using FS Instant Approach to practice landing. This is a nice program that allows one to practice landings. I can easily land using the autopilot. As a matter of fact, despite that the Q400 does not have autoland, I can autoland it with the autopilot, except that at CYQB ir tends to hit the ground just before the start of the runway (possibly die to the fact that the runway altitude is at 250 feet and I have not programmed ANYTHING into the FMC except that the starting and ending airports are at CYQB. Of course I can easily hand-land it by turning off the autopilot just before landing as …

Hi Everyone Coming from a warm climate I am not used to snowy conditions and was flying into Calgary today when I had a double engine flameout and promptly dumped it into a field. I am not sure myself or my virtual passengers survived. The worrying part is I don't know where I went wrong. Airframe and prop deice were on and intake doors illuminated green saying closed. My understanding is this ensures that the airflow is not choked off by show and ice. I don't recall reading anything about an engine anti ice system but maybe I missed it. Can anyone offer any thoughts? Cheers Barra
