Recently had my CPU "cleaned up".Afterward FSX would not open so I removed FSX and FSX Accelerator. After reinstalling I get directions to enter the Product Activation code. Doing so it is not recogonized. An y thoughts?? Thanks George KPHX

Hi, as many of you know, over in Europe routes have to adhere to specific requirements in order to be accepted and released by ATC, pass the CFMU validator, etc., and the RAD document is the reference for IFR flight planning, telling us what routes and levels may be filed. I am wondering if there is a similar process for the US. If I get a route from PFPX, or any planner, how do I know the flight plan is correct? I know FlighAware is the website most turn to for flight plans in the US, and that could be the starting point. But maybe there is a document like RADs for the US as well. Being from Europe, I know how it works over here, what documents or websites I can re…

I am having trouble installing new aircraft to my Microsoft Flight X. The problem is I don't no where I'm supposed to unzip the files and what to do once they are unzipped. Whatever I do it is wrong because when I start the simulation I never see the new aircraft I have tried to install. This also happens when trying to install AI aircraft too. Can anyone help please or point me in the right direction. Philip

Hi all! I've posted the same message on the Ezdok forum, but I thought I could give it a try on this forum too. : I reinstalled my whole computer, and I'm setting up everything again. I finally reached the part where I have to setup Ezdok. But, I experience some problems. 1. I have assigned my Hat switch in Ezdok. But when I use my Hat switch to pan around, I can't pan around freely. It just moves a little bit and returns to the central. 2. I can't switch between virtual cockpit views. The first view pops up, but the second view doesn't work, and so on. The strange thing is, it does work on the outside views. Only the outside views aren't working correctly. Fo…

I fairly new on this site, so apologies if this has already been posted:-) I've been reading alot of post and reviews for thirdparty addons, complaining about not being able to use fullscreen when using a second(or third) monitor for other programs like ProATC, EFB, FSCommander and such. I was having the same issue and used to spend my time with FSX in windowed mode. While reading som topic on Poinsofts forum, one of the ProATC devs gave me a tip about a great little program called FS-SIMtimizer that allows you to use FSX fullscreen but also have access to your other monitors as well. I just found this tool set in the library. It looks like I will have an action packed day working with and setting up Pilot Controlled-Lighting (PCL) wherever applicable. It looks like the program installs for FS9 FSX and P3D. Keith

On the navigraph website I only see an update for the e-jets vol. 2. Does anyone know if this is compatible with vol. 1? Thanks

I know the seasons in FSX are kinda wacky but trying to figure out if my system is messed up or not. Is there suppose to be snow on the ground this time of year in the Denver valley area within FSX? KDEN is where I'm starting out at and have no snow at all.

Recently added REX to my set-up and having significant stuttering during the flight and low frame rates. Significant slow downs when I notice REX is adding new data. Would my best option be: 1. Go with one of the static REX themes without real time weather 2. Use the built in FSX weather generator. Any suggestions/tweaks would be appreciated. I know that I need to upgrade my CPU, but that requires a complete system overhaul, which I'm not quite up for. I'm on an FSX reinstall at the moment. I figured that Playsim's VFR scenery, since it does not appear in the FSX folder at all, could be left installed. I noticed before I uninstalled FSX that the VFR scenery apeared in the Add On Scenery Menu. But, for the life of me, I don't know how to point FSX to the Playsim's folder. I can get the basic subunits to appear in my Add On Menu, but they are worded differently to the way they were previously. I think they all began 'VFR 1.... Area 3..' etc Is there a quick and easy way to reinstall Generation X - I really hope so :(

Hello, Does anyone else have problems making an ils approach with Carenado's 1900.It seems that it doesn't capture the approach after pressing the approach button when the the ils is set up?

The guys over at JBAI had a utility (patch) called AITP-X to stop aircraft lined up in sequence for take-off suddenly 'disappearing' because they had waited too long (about 5 minutes). It seems SP2 broke the utility and the lack of response on the JBAI Forum suggests they may have lost interest in providing a fix. Hey, that's the way freeware cookie crumbles sometimes. No probs, but are there any other freeware (or payware) programmers/developers out there that have this kind of utility(patch) on their radar or do I once and for all have to accept that the aircraft lined up in front of me are going to go 'poof' one at a time until its my turn for tower to give me T/O clea…

Afternoon from New Orleans One of you genious simmers has to be able to help me with this. Last night I'm toying with FSX while waiting for the 777 to download. Im running it windowed mode so I can run all the outside programs FSX pilots love to benefit from and suddenly it dawns on me that everytime my mouse brings up my Windows 7 Task Bar (auto-hid) at the bottom of the screen, my in game FPS jump 10-15 FPS!! Some of you will know that I recently decided to reinstall FSX and all of my addons because of a serious stuttering issue. Some of you will also know that the reinstall solved the problem. This was a fantastic result, but there is more. I decided to stress test the reinstall by running a test that would have previously resulted in an OOM before I had even made it to the downwind leg.......and yet I have just completed that test without a CTD. PFE sometimes is definitely trying to kill me. I tried with VOR-to-VOR and high altitude airways flight plans, and PFE tends to start my descent about 50-60mi from destination airport. Means, I must descent at -2500ft/m, and I end at 6000ft on ILS at best, which is quite high, but I can't descent at 3000ft/m, it's simply to steep. Also yesterday I had a problem where PFE didn't gave me descent instructions at all! I waited and waited, and at about 30mi from destination airport, when I was at FL260, PFE gave me instruction for ILS and localizer approach, without any descent instruction prior to that! I use FSUIP4 to control my joysticks and have them disabled in the fsx joystick settings of the configuration page. I put the JOYSTICKS=0 line in the [CONTROLS] section of the fsx.cfg file. About 50% of the time I load FSX the JOYSTICKS=0 line is gone from the fsx.cfg and the controllers are enabled again in the program. This cause conflicts until I go in and disable them again and put the line back in the fsx.cfg. I have experimented with adding comments to the other lines in the [CONTROLS] section and they disappear too. It's like the entire section gets gets replaced every so often. Any ideas what causes this? Fix? Thanks Rick S.

I recently acquired an aircraft addon which references the above file in the Effects section of aircraft.cfg. This file does not appear in any of my FSX systems or my old FS9 system, all of which have fx_tchdwn_s.fx (small) and fx_tchdwn.fx (normal/large) but not fx_tchdwn_m.fx (medium). I asked around, and it seems like this file is unique to P3D. Is that true ? Not a big deal to fix, just curious. But if this is the case it does mean that developers need to take it into consideration when creating models for all three sims.
