Hello, I have bought the EAS ZSPD Pudong for FSX , i have a problem with but certainely not due to the add-on it self. As you couls see in the pictures, I have an overlapping of the runways. It should be due to another free add-ons, but I can't find any afcad, scenery related to Shanghai into my library or files. Maybe someone know how to find that kind of problems with uninstall all sceneries aircraft is inside the terrain look at the small black square and the lights of the runway are down into the ground several level under the ground you see that I can even see the right runway but some bulldozer cover it with tons of gravels Thanks for your help W…

This is strange. I've installed a lot of aircraft in FSX (freeware and paid) but never ran into this problem. In any of the outside views the airplane is visible and I can fly it; however in "cockpit view" nothing shows up but the runway and scenery. I start the engine and take off down the runway, I hear the engine, see the scenery going by, etc but I have to switch to an outside view to see the plane and what it's doing. This is an unimportant aircraft (freeware) that I installed today to get a feel for the version of the Garmin 1500 that the plane is supposed to have installed. The plane is called PoMansMeridian III GC, and I downloaded it from fs2x.com My…

Hello all I have 5:1 speakers connected to a sub-woofer. I'm posting here about this because I think this may be an FS issue. Testing the speakers they all work as they should and if play music they are all ok, but in FS only two ever work. I have tried various settings in windows/sound and Realtek audio manager but nothing seems to cure it. When selecting flaps for example, the cockpit sounds fade momentarily until the flaps are set. This is the case with other sounds i.e landing gear retract/extend etc. If anybody has any ideas how I can get them all to work I'd be grateful if you would share them with me. Thank you. (I have checked all connections)! FSX SP1…

I highly recommend this new airport package by George Keogh. Great quality, and no installer or registration entries to be concerned about. http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=182082&CatID=fsxscen

I want to improve my FSX. I'm running FSX with DX-10. Question, are Ulimate Terrain X and Orbx FTX Global the same type programs? If so, which is better.

... that I fired up my PC, clicked on my flight sim icon and the most incredible thing happened: - it loaded in 8 seconds - it had incredible graphics like X-Plane 10 (or even MS Flight, for that matter) - it had the completeness of FSX/Prepar3D - all addons had standards and used the same runtime apps - there was spot-on ATC with no go-arounds every 30 seconds - airports were buzzing with activity and were close to the real thing - AVSIM CTD forums didn't exist - Wilco didn't exist (yes, a low blow but I got screwed by them twice already) - the only OOM I got was me trying to remember how to start the damn plane - the only tweaking was in regards to which li…

I was flying the approach to rwy 10 at SCIP (Easter Island in the South Pacfic) at night in 1/8mile vis conditions in my 767 PIC, and a 10kt crosswind from about 130 degrees. I had a three autopilot autoland engaged as I crossed what should have been the threshold, when a radar and tower appeared out of the fog that fatally clipped my undercarriage just before I set the aircraft down parallel to the runway and about 50m offset to the right of the rwy in the grass. The aircraft was not a writeoff, but I did need to use full power to taxi the nose through the grass. :-lol I thought I might have set the ILS up incorrectly, especially the OBS course which is known to cause o…

The L1011 was just the latest classic I've been playing with recently. Glass is nice, but steam gauges and a list of VOR freqs sure a lot of fun. So I'm thinking I'll stick to whatever was flying in 1976 and see if I can make a go of it. That means a lot of nice airplanes get locked away in the future, but so be it. The only thing I really see missing is a 747-100. Anybody else try to limit themselves so drastically and succeed? 1976 was as good a year as any.

I was slightly amused yesterday when Gatwick ATC decided to let an Airbus slam into the back of me (Cessna) on ILS approach just before the threshold. Not the first time this kind of thing has happened either, my favourite landing has to be leapfrogging a 737 in another 737 200 feet up. Anyhoo I like to have traffic set on heavy for realism, but I assume this is a common problem. Any way to improve ATC/approach realism? Also, why are there so many AI go-arounds?

I am not having any major issues at the moment (ouch probably shouldnt of said that !) just out of interest, my FSX is not installed to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games but to E:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games I do have a folder C:\Program Files (x86) Lots of people recommend not installing to C:\Program Files (x86), as mine is on E is that different, or does it have the same restrictions? UAC is turned off and I instal everything as Administrator. Its just if I ever have to reinstal was wondering if I should instal say to E:\fsx and avoid Program Files (x86)\ irrespective of what drive its on. Although sayi…

Hi all, We are currently looking for experienced beta testers to assist us in the testing of our upcoming Canberra PR9 (http://www.justflight.com/product/canberra). If you have previous experience testing a high-level FSX aircraft (anything from an A2A C172 to a VRS F/A-18 to a PMDG 777) and would be willing to devote some of your precious time to testing our Canberra PR9, please drop me a message. If you have real-world experience on an aircraft of a similar type but no experience testing FSX aircraft, we would also love to hear from you! This aircraft is being developed with the direct input of three ex-PR9 pilots, but the more input the better! Thanks Martyn (Jus…

Hi Yesterday I have installed VOXATC demo and tried to get used to it but it was a no go to me. Today I have uninstalled it using control panel in OS and... the weirdest thing which I didn't expect to happen. Brakes doesn't work when using Joystick (Logitech Extreme 3d Pro) button - the brake light in FSX just flashes and that's all. I have to repeateadly press it to make brakes work. In the meantime keybinding on my keyboard ("dot") works as it should. I am aware that VOXATC has probably nothing related to brakes in FSX but I have no idea what is happening and why it started to happen just after uninstalling this software. Did anyone had problem like t…

Hi and greetings, new to the forum. A friend recently got the full gamut of controls, including a Saitek elevator trim wheel. Everything works great except we are having problems with the trim wheel. I think the problems are caused by the control acceleration. The trim wheel movements should correlate with the simulated trim wheel movements, but they don't. Slow movements do almost nothing and fast movements result in extreme changes, normally all the way to one stop or the other. Googling and reading I've heard that there is an FSUIPC button to disable control acceleration. I don't have anything against that, but I don't think we should need to buy additional softwa…

Holy COW!!! So after wasting ALL weekend trying to get Aerosoft's Mega Airports Heathrow to work properly and even look like an airport, I just gave up, un-installed it and with a huge frown on my face, bought UK2000's Heathrow Extreme v2.15.... to try what I though would be yet another let-down.. 2 Words for UK2000 - HOLY COW! :shok: This airport is just everything you imagine a well made airport should be! Its THE mutts nutts, the icing on the cake, the creme de-la-creme.... Take off from Biggin hill, I can SEE the airport from the other side of London, just like the default FSX airport, only now, I can SEE the runway approach lights too (Not PAPI light…

Just out of interest my fsx was installed by my PC supplier to a separate drive E:\Program Files (x86)\ UAC is turned off and everything is installed as Administrator. I read many posts saying to avoid installing to C:\Program Files (x86)\ As this can cause issues as Program Files (x86)\ is a protected area of windows As my path is actually E:\Program Files (x86)\ ( my PC also has a C:\Program Files (x86)\ ) am I avoiding these potential problems or does E have the same restrictions as C and it sthe name “Program Files (x86)” that causes problems? I fortunately don’t have a particular issue at present ( did I really dare say that!!) but in t…

Hi, I've recently changed from FS9 to FSX and I'm having trouble setting the wind in advanced weather. These are the steps I've taken prior to the problem : Load saved game with the aircraft on the ILS at 1000' Go to User Defined Weather > Advanced Weather and set a 35kt crosswind The wind behaves as you would expect until around 30-50' AGL when it suddenly turns into a 20kt tailwind. I've also tried setting the wind at the appropriate Specific Weather Station but still get the same result. Thanks for any help.

Just thinking out loud here... we are now into FSX's eighth year and we still don't have a decent native 747 Classic. We still don't have a decent native DC-10. We've only recently got a native DC-8 (albeit the early 10-40 series). It seems in the FS world that popular aircraft that are missing from the developers' catalogues seem to appear in twos or threes all of a sudden over a relatively short timeframe - see the King Air, 737-200 and Tristar. Anyone willing to make a bet that when we finally do get a new 747 Classic or DC-10 we end up with two or three on the market in the space of a year?

Hey gang, I just got the new center mounted stick attachment for my Volair Sim chassis and I am eager to fly all those planes with real sticks. The P-51 Mustangs, J-3 Cubs and Citabrias immediately come to mind but, there must be many more in our virtual hangars. How about posting the ones that I am trying to remember? Thanks. Regards, Ray

I just reinstalled FSX, but as soon as I started up the sim, I get error messages for missing scenery files 123 to 137. So I thought to run a repair, but starting the sim right after, still gave the same error messages. I uninstalled FSX and removed all corresponding folders and ran the install again, but again I get the same error messages. Can someone please tell me how to repair/restore those missing scenery files? I see I also cant switch to windowed mode and I cant turn on the menu bar. I haven't seen any of those problems before. What can be going wrong here and what can I do to fix it?

Hello everyone I used to be an avid flight simmer "back in the day". I got out of it once I got my ratings (used it to practice most for instrument rating). So had no need really! Anyway, recently I was given a new aircraft assignment unlike anything I have ever flown and want to practice all the new procedures as I am starting over at a new company. I found out there was a recent release of my aircraft that looks fairly legit in operation. I'm litterally starting from scartch here - I intend to purchase FSX, a PS3 camera, and a control yoke (CH yoke like this or Saitek joystick like this) used on eBay and get FaceTrackNoIR and practice that way. Graphics aren't t…
