Hi all, I fly generally the PMDG 777/737NGX as well as the aerosoft Airbus X Extended. I am curious to know what kinds of freeware tools out there are helpful for those airplanes. I mean flight planning utilities, flight trackers, anything that will help me feel like more of a realistic pilot than someone who hops in and takes off without adequate planning. If there are any payware Apple App Store apps (other than FS Kneeboard) then those work too. Thanks so much,

Hello. so i was flying the PMDG 777 perfectly and then when i landed and taxi to gate, i think i tuched some keys on the keyboard with a mistake but my yoke disconnected completly from flight sim, the "enable controlls" are not working, when i start fsx the yoke work for just some minits before it stops working. but when i look on the "devices and printers" the yoke is active theres just "Mouse yoke" in the dropdown box using windows 8.1 heres a picture I dont understand why this is not working Now my screen is all ###### http://gyazo.com/cb4f2ed7f3bb74038538e08a2c8889e2

Hi guys, I am reading through BA's Fleet of 777-200's and I am getting more desperate for these to be simulated properly in FSX. The 777-200a is has a pair of GE90-76B (76,300lb) with a range of just over 5,000 miles The B variant (early 200er) is restricted to 7,700 NM and is payload restricted when doing the longer sectors. I guess I am tired of having such an overpowered aircraft in the sim, I want to feel like I am heavy and struggling down the runway and planning for flights that are going to be MTOW restricted depending on weather etc. Comparing the B77L to the 777-200a in engine performance is 110,000 to 76,000 PMDG have already stated that t…

Hello, I recently heard that when installing SP1 and SP2 you want to open up FSX after each install and perform maybe a five second flight. So, optimally, you install FSX, open it and perform a five second flight, then close it. Then you install SP1 and SP2 and repeat these steps for each of those installs. Apparently doing this will make sure your system registries are up to date. Well, I found this all out after installing everything at once and now with all my addons it would be a pain to have to wipe everything out and do it all over again. I am having problems with the Logbook in the Pilot Records of FSX. Originally the Task Manager would show FSX not responding when I tried to start it. So on a guess I deleted the logbook.bin file. That started in April 2013 and happened two or three times since then. What is happening now is a problem with what is written to the logbook.bin. and what I not written to the logbook.bin. Several examples: (1) EDDF-KLAX fight of 12.5 hours showed 12.1 hours of instrument flight. KSRQ-KTPA flight of .5 hours showed instrument time of .4 hours (these are obviously wrong). (2) Flight times do not write to the logbook.bin. When I finish a flight, I press the Esc key a…

My version of the Boeing 737-800 by PMDG's HUD is not displaying. I CAN deploy the HUD to in front of me, however the HUD will not "turn on". It just stays there, not lighting up with green text. I have had it before, and for the last week or so, it just hasn't shown up. I read the manual briefly and didnt see anything about it. I'm pretty sure that I pressed a button, just dont know which or where. Again, the HUD comes down, just doesnt activate text

Hey everyone, tried to look around youtube and google, where can I enter the weather data from active sky e.g. 250/7, like I would in PMDG into the perf, but where is this entered on the Dash 8? Also, once I am ready to basically taxi, my settings are setup ready to taxi, how can I save that panel, like PMDG I would save the panel state in the Dash 8? Thanks for the help!!!

Yesterday I decided to go step further in my 737 NGX and started to use approach plates instead of FSX ATC. GOD! Why I was so stubborn before to use ATC - choosing right STAR on EPKK including a hold on KRW to decrease speed and get myself on final to runway was probably the best experience in my short but active FSX life. Because I am no pro when it comes to Sids and Stars I got a question - when I look at EPKK approach plates I can only see 4 stars (checked Jeppsen) - but fm gives me much more options (airac 1402) - maybe I am doing something wrong or misinterpreting stars but only 2 out of 8 (I think) stars available on fmc are on approach plate. Just wondering if anyone has managed to use the Mindstar G1000 (with GFC700 AP option), within the VC of the Carenado SR-22 ? It's mainly for the GFC700 autopilot that I'm interested in this (weg to use things like FLCH, which the Carenado model alone doesn't support*). Cheers. *The Carenado SR-22's GFC700 autopilot uses the defauly FSX autothrottle to control speed, instead of pitch, as FLCH mode should.

I've tried VATSIM a couple of times in the past, but have never gone back since then. The lack of ATC coverage, the lack of traffic over any given area (except during events,) and the terrible UI (FSInn/Squakbox) turned me off for good. I'm curious if I'm alone in this category or if there are others out there that feel the same way. Surely I can't be missing out on much.Regards,

I have an annoying issue with the pushback function. The truck shows up, connects and then immediately disconnects without initiating the pushback. It has always been like that except for those odd occasions when it suddenly works! There doesn't seem to be any connection to any scenery installation, it just happens on both default and add on airports. Lately I've found the same issue happening when using the built in pushback features in Airbus X Extended and PMDG 737, they both worked fine until a couple of days ago when they suddenly went all "FSX" on me and went into that very same touch'n go mode. Again, no apparent connection to any add ons but I did reset my FSX.cfg…

(2007) It was 'flown' by Scott Foley, as Staff Sergeant Bob Brown who was chasing a 'terrorist' in piper cub with a bio-weapon. Hey guys, this is gonna be my first post... I was watching the wilco airbus ils tutorial on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1QI7ObY0xc I did everything like it said... this happened twice, I intercepted the localizer and glide slope and it was descending but it was going almost like a nose dive... I had FS Passengers loaded to try and get my landings right, anyway, so my speed was fine, flaps were down, and being in a nose dive the nose gear hit the ground first... which FS Passengers doesn't like... but I could use some help. How do you all keep up with all the payware/freeware add ons that you have acquired? In particular airports, do you write down all the codes for every airport because that's what i'm thinking i need to do to really enjoy what i have. Sure i remember the main hubs Heathrow EGLL, Ft Lauderdale KFLL, Phoenix KPHX etc it's the small airports i'm having issues remembering.....any hints?

Yesterday was the first real time I have had to play with P3Dv2 as far as add-ons are concerned. I had previously installed OPUS and used it in this sim successfully, as well as several aircraft (e.g. MilViz B55). Yesterday I got really ambitious and had UT2 working, and was in the stages of adding other sceneries and addons, when my P3Dv2 started going to a black screen whenever I panned in the VC. (The fact that a rotund black cat who shall remain nameless sat on my keyboard while I had the C:\Users....\folder open and deleted all of it- only to be restored from the Trash later when I found I had issues with P3Dv2 may have also contributed)....
