Trying to solve an issue...have been using shadowplay to record fsx no problem..installed ezdok but now the recording status icon is gone and it records a frame of 1080x950...never used to do that before ezdok...anyone know the issue???

Just bought an Alienware 14 with a NVIDIA GeForce GT 750 Video Card. When launching FSX everything appears to be normal. I can configure my controls, select airplanes, etc. However, when I hit fly now, something goes wrong. I do see a couple of windows where the program is loading terrain and traffic data. After that, the screen goes blank. I can hear something in the background but there is no video. If I hit the escape key, I go back to the End Flight screen/menu. I followed the instructions sent to me by PMDG and now the only payware aircraft that seems to be working it the Captain Sim and Wilco birds. I have lost all functions in my PMDG, ifly, leveld, Quality Wings birds. A little background I purchased the MD11 yesterday and was seeing some issues with it. so I contacted support that told me to do the flight1 registry fix. now I am told that I have other issues with 'FSX.

I'm trying to find the best enb series settings, I've been using it on and off now for about 6 months, currently I'm not using it but instead Shade. I would like to use both though but everytime I do use it, its either way to bright, or too dark like black and white. I went on youtube yesterday and watched a video with someone who was using it and it looked perfect so its made me want to go back to ENB again.My question is, does anybody have settings out there which aren't too bright or too dark and looks realistic? Thought I would share some photos of how accurate OpusFSX simulates current weather. The first image is a snapshot of Foreflight with the satellite overlay depicted. You'll see on the screen that the plane (RealAir's Duke 2 at 20,000 ft) is approaching a break in the clouds. The second and third images are a view from the cockpit and you can see a break in the clouds. Pretty amazing that a weather program is able to simulate the weather so well. Cheers, Frank

I've been eyeing the Realair turbine duke for a while, but for some reason had it in my head that they are working on a V2 for it similar to how the piston version got a V2. I happened to noticed last night that it's on sale for something like 40% off the normal price though and I'm kinda thinking I should just jump on it. What do you guys think? Is there actually a V2 coming and I should wait? Or jump on the current one and be happy with it? I've kinda pushed up my wait to get a GA aircraft since OrbX just dropped their Northern California region (my home region) and I want to use something better than default aircraft to explore it. I get this weird elevation bounce when I land on certain runways in FSX. I want to say about 65% of the time this happens. It seems its not specific to the pmdg 777 but since that's all I fly, its hard to say how often other aircraft do it. Here's a video I made.

I keep wanting to do a flight but the necessary time/concentration/planning and setting up continually puts me off. I haven't flow in weeks now. Does anyone else ever feel like they are more interested in buying addons and playing with them a few times than they are interested in actually flying regularly?

I purchased the Lionheart Quest Kodiak and it's been great flying around SE Alaska. However, I often noticed the altimeter is off but I haven't been able to use the knob next to the PFD to change the barometric pressure setting. Doesn't seem to work. Is there a keystroke or other input I can use to do this?

Been messing around trying to get "realistic" clouds at low altitudes, specifically, something like low stratus/ stratucumulus/ cumulus, say, at 1000 feet and 1000-3000 feet - or, basically, puffy broken/scattered clouds near the ground. Can't seem to make this happen - any tips? Is it possible? thanks, Andrew

Hey guys, I'm having a weird issue with my EZCA addon and I was wondering if anyone here knew a way to fix this. Here is my post from the EZdok forums: It's really weird.. If anyone has a steelseries mouse please try this out for me and confirm that it's an issue with the mouse communicating with the addon or something. As it stands this means i have to switch mouses when I want to fly.. which is.. kinda lame. :c Thanks for any help

Does anyone use REX 4 in conjunction with Opus? I currently use an older version of REX for textures in conjunction with Opus for weather and I find both excellent, but REX4 very impressive and looks like it's worth upgrading over an older version. Did anyone else upgrade over an older version of REX? Is it noticeably better? Thanks

Simply put......my autogen load times at startup for ANY airports in Scotland have slowed to a crawl. I have just tried Scotflight's EGPK Prestwick, and I gave up after TEN minutes when the load bar had moved from 70 to 73%! I have tried rebuilding the fsx.cfg file, but that didn't work. I tried installing the ES Autogen compatibility files (designed to work with scenery packages from multiple developers simultaneously), but that hasn't worked either. Does anyone have an idea why this might have happened, and what the solution is? I have never experienced this before, and it has only just started yesterday. I've heard that DX10 mode greatly helps prevent OOM's and increases performance all while upping the visuals (Beautiful Water with no FPS Hit!). So now that DX10 rendering in FSX has been fixed by various methods (payware/freeware) does the inclusion of FSX in DX10 mode put FSX on a more level playing field with P3D? Especially graphical and performance wise? Thoughts?

After who knows how many months of tweaking SweetFX values, and tweaking my own sky textures (morning, noon and afternoon), I finally got what I searched for. :excl: Before I get started, I must warn that sky textures and sweetfx preset is calibrated for my monitor and in DX9 mode. I hate dark visuals in FSX, so I made brighter SweetFX preset with some calibrated colors for photorealism. I bet that on 90% of monitors this will look good. I have the Deluxe retail edition. Will some kind soul please help me with the Traffic Toolbox in the SDK? There are some vague instructions on using it and installing it. I have the FSX program in the default location as well as the SDX. I can't figure out what to do to install it. I don't have any Tools dropdown menu in FSX like I do in FS2004. In FS2004 the traffictoolbox.dll is in the Modules folder. I tried just putting the .dll in the main FSX folder but it did not work. Is NET Framework 2.0 needed for the Traffic Toolbox? For some unknown reason I can't install Version 2.0. I get a Blue Screen of Death and the installation aborts.I'd sure appreciate any help. Thanks…

Over the years, I've added quite a bit of scenery--my scenery.cfg currently has 386 layers--and am trying to figure out the best approach to maximize performance by limiting the scenery FSX will have to process. Most of my scenery is installed as per the normal install procedures though, when the scenery package allows, I will install the scenery to an alternate drive. As to photoreal scenery, it is installed one of two ways; 1) MegaScenery Earth sceneries are installed under a single folder for each state (I install the individual files separately, rather than using the autoinstall, so I can exclude tiles in certain airport/city areas where I want auto…

I'm trying to look for a good EFB for my new iPad. It would be nice to be able to get my charts up without having to print off page after page or interrupt whats on my FSX screen to look at a chart in a browser. Are there any reasonably priced apps out there that will allow me to do this please? It would certainly make my simming more enjoyable. Thanks!

I am using Vox with sound to the headphones. Is there a way to have sound also coming from a speaker in the cockpit so that visitors can hear what's going on? Martin

Hi Guys I'm looking for a repaint of the Aerosoft A320 which as far as I'm aware doesn't exist! I'm desperate to re-create some of the holidays I had as a kid by flying some old Airtours routes! Hi guys, at the moment I am using Active Sky for weather generation. As far as I am aware, this program also includes textures (such as runways, etc). I have read that it is possible to use REX4 as a texture addon and leave Active Sky for the weather engine. How this works? will there be a conflict when using this two addons? I've been using aicarriers for a while now and find it an absolutely amazing addon. However, as of late, it was getting somewhat redundant landing on the same carriers. As a result, I decided to get some add ons for it. Being a huge fan of Sci-fi in general, I got the Halo Ringworld training site add-on. However, when I tried to run it, a message popped up saying "create object frigate_hector_leo failed". I was a little disappointed, but got another add-on: space places. Now, this one generated fine, but I can't find and/or even see the model. Please help!

I have looked at many forums and posts regarding my issues. I have not found any that help. I udnerstand to enter block fuel is the fuel calculated with PFPX. But using the airbus fuel planner and loading cargo, ZFW and LDW is always off. If I set the cargo to the one set in PFPX the ZFW is incorrect compared to PFPX. If I set the ZFW as the same as PFPX then the landing weight is incorrect than the one on PFPX. Should I follow the airbus fuel planner of PFPX weights.
