I have configured my two monitors (laptop and external) for use with FSX. I would like to display instruments on the laptop display, while the primary monitor shows the VC or another view. When I start flying, I get graphics on my main monitor, and my secondary monitor (laptop display) shows the black screen, as expected. However, the black screen (or any views that I drag into it) is not "lined up" with the secondary monitor! It is shifted toward the main monitor, and I can see through to the desktop of the secondary. Any suggestions?

In my set up EZCA sees PMDG's and iFly's Boeings (738) as the same plane. Any idea how to disengage them for EZCA (without uninstalling one of them, of course)? Thanks, Dirk.

Over the past several years, there's been fantastic improvement (thanks to payware and freeware developers) towards realism in FSX when it comes to animation and visual rendering of clouds/weather, as well as overall water textures, and most definitely in sceneries and aircrafts of all types. But there is one visual/animation effect in FSX that has not received as much attention for improvement compared with other aspects of FSX, and that is the beach/surf wave animation. I've been running FSX Standard edition since last year. Like a number of people, i started having OOM issues once I startwed using addon scenery (windows 7 64 bit, 8 gigs ram) so I decided to upgrade to the gold version with the Deluxe version and Accelerator as well. In the Standard edition my default aircraft had pretty sharp vc panels. When I switched to Deluxe/Accelerator the vc panels got really blurry (not the gauges, just the actual cockpit graphics). In the deluxe version i could fix it if I checked the Preview directx10 box, great! I am looking for a programme that enables me to "talk" to the default ATC. I currently use Voice Attack which gives me voice activated commands. Eg if I want option 2 in the ATC menu, I would say 2. However, I am finding this a bit unrealistic. I would much prefer to be able to say eg "Delta 1 request take off vfr." Am I able to get Voice Attack to do this for me, but I suspect it would be too much. I have looked at Multi Crew Experience in the past but the demo is now past it's 7 days. If I was to purchase it, does the lite version do what I want it to do? Also, has anyone got any other suggestions. I have tried the demo of Voxatc, but there was too many options …

Hi Simmers, I have read somewhere online that FranceVFR products does not work with Orbx products. Some say the autogen can get corrupted if FranceVFR and Orbx products are both installed. Right now France VFR products are on sale at simMarket and they do look nice from the screenshots. So can anyone tell if products from the two developers work together or not? Thanks, Zicheng Cai

I've seen a few photos of the view looking out of the cockpit from full simulators. From what I've seen they must have some sort of projector system that wraps around the cockpit - which is really cool if you can afford it. But whether you have one monitor, multiple monitors or a wrap around projector can you control how much (to the left or right the view) you can see in FSX? I'm asking because it appears that the view I've seen in these photos looks further to the side that I can see w/ my set-up. Note - I understand that there is software that allows you to look around the cockpit and that's not what I'm asking about - hope this makes sense. Thanks.

Hi, I have made the sample flight and another from KBZN to KGEG in my just arrived Q400. It seems everything is working in the aircraft systems as described by the manuals and tutorials. I have a lot to learn yet. But there is a stubborn problem with the Control Panel Weight & Balance page when sending data to flightsim. After the Send Data button is pressed, the Q400 in the flightsim simply silences and the cockpit moving parts and buttons stay paralyzed but their functions operate. For example, if I press the autofeather or fuel pump button, it illuminates, if I turn the glare shield lighting button, the light comes. Outside, the aircraft has no wheels. Any …

I notice that a relatively new developer has appeared on the scene with airports on sale for Sydney and Adelaide. I can't say that I have been over-impressed by the screenshots available for either Airport on the SimMarket and FSPS sites and these certainly would not put them into the top league of developers but I wondered if anyone has any actual experience of them? As I understand that FlyTampa has Sydney in it's sights, I was going to wait for that but I was considering Adelaide as it is a large airport which I guess is unlikely to be developed by anyone else. So attempting to land at KDEN I realized the FMC data in the PMDG 737 and the FSX ILS Course data were different. So obviously the plane didn't intercept the GS. Now I looked online and thought I found this thing that updates the ILS frequencies/courses so I installed it into the scenery folder and replaced the magdec file with the new one. So my next flight I am landing at KEWR 22R and I have 110.75/219 setup but the plane doesn't intercept the localizer either. And the co-pilot tells me localizer deviation. Now I looked at the map and I had the stuff tuned correctly so why did the plane not intercept the LOC or GS. Could it be when I updated the file it messed…

Thinking about purchasing. Doe anyone out there have any detailed experience with the beta range (reversers) for this plane, and how well the turbo engine is modeled by the dev? Also a few detailed questions below on using the reversers after touchdown. I am reading a little bit about the reversers and was curious how well this works on landings? 1. If you put the power lever to reverse, the blade pitch at that point must be controlled by the power lever itself as nothing I can find states otherwise. Is this correct? 2. I'm currently using the Eiresim scenery for Dublin but I know Aerosoft has released a Mega Airport Dublin X scenery and I'm wondering how these two sceneries compare? Anyone switched from Eiresim Dublin to Aerosoft Dublin and care to share the experience?

Although I'm using P3Dv2.2 I'll post this here because more people are still using FSX and so there's more chance of someone knowing. The title says it all - when you alter prop pitch, the VC view rocks back and forward a couple of times. Is there anything I can edit or tweak that will eliminate this effect completely ? I have a certain aircraft in which it's downright annoying. Any help gratefully received.

I've just had this problem crop up in the past week. I will try to roll my aircraft left or right, and when I physically move the joystick, the controls in the VC move in conjunction with my physical movements, but the aircraft will not roll, then after a couple seconds, it moves dramatically. This is obviously extremely frustrating. I have re-calibrated my CH HOTAS numerous times, turn the sensitivity all the way up in FSX, as well as removed the null zone. I also added the stick sensitivity line in the FSX.cfg. Does anyone have any idea what it causing this? It is happening in all airplanes, and only to the roll axis.

I'm thinking about getting a Traffic addon for FSX. I'm really new to Flight Sim in general, I'm am hardly a good flyer (yet) and I don't do any multi-player flying (yet). But in the meantime I'd like the skies to be a bit friendlier and more realistic. It seems like there are two options that folks like a lot: Ultimate Traffic 2 and Traffic 360. 1) They seem pretty darn similar to me. Are there any major advantages/disadvantages to either? Anyone have a preference? 2) I'm worried about how this will impact the performance. My machine is ok but not great, and I struggle to get a decent frame rate in densely populated areas or complex airports. Will putting …

okay so i need a new joystick. I think i'm only going to be flying airbus (a320/21) I am planning on getting an extreme 3d pro joystick. (I'm probably going to have a throttle quadrant and rudder pedals (Probably both saitek) Do you think this is a decent airbus setup? Is this a good joystick for an airbus?

I have FSX standard edition with the latest version of FSUIPC 4.934 which is unregistered and Radar Contact 4. Whenever I first installed RC with FSUIPC I've gotten these chimes in mid flight and when about to land. Eventually I get an error message saying computer has ran out of memory please turn down graphic settings in FSX, and then FSX closes. With that said, I have no idea what's going on and what's causing this. I also hope someone can help me out, thanks.

I'm trying to figure out why I'm getting about 25% less fps with my new FSX install. I'm still installing stuff but with the NGX and FSDT scenery I'm getting about 10-12 fps in the VC (with weather no AI traffic) I've got wide aspect and highmemfix in my cfg. I'm pretty sure I didn't run with any other tweaks. I also have nvidia inspector set to 8xS AA and 16x AF. But I wonder if it's not working - if I set filtering to none in FSX there's no AF even with nvidia inspector profile setup. Also strangely enough the load times between my old gen 2 SSD and the new gen 3 are basically identical..... Surprised me a little. Any ideas mainly on the fps ? Ed…

After having issues with FSX repeatedly hanging when trying to select the PMDG 777, I deleted the FSX.cfg, let it re-build, but every time I try to fire up the PMDG 777, I get usual Microsoft nonsense of a Security Warming when asked to install/approve the .DLL file, and then it again, promptly just hangs. I've disabled MSE anti-virus. So, maddening. Can anyone help? Thanks.

I recently bought a copy of Pooley's guide to UK airports, retail Value £25. Thing is, if I buy this years, it's way 'out of date' with FSX, frequencies of NDBs ILS etc. so I bought a shrinkwrapped 2007 copy for £7.50 and it arrived yesterday, what a great Bible of a book! Recommended for VFR pilots in the UK, best used with a pilot's aviation map, (£14) and plotter for measuring nautical miles on the map (£8). Neat!
