Hello all, I've been having a look at the Concorde X the past few weeks. I upgraded my 4-year-old PC about 6 months ago and can finally enjoy FSX at some reasonable, mid-high settings (but still split my FS9/FSX flying about 50-50). See my avatar for specs. For those who follow FSL, I posted pretty much the same thread over there, so disregard if you'd like. Loving it so far, but I can't find a plane I was hoping was in there. A couple years ago I took a couple flights from Knoxville to Atlanta and back. $ flights all together. I rode on a small, jet passenger plane for these flights. I thought it could have been like a DC-10 or DC-9, but I can't recall and I see no planes like this in FSX. Can someone tell me what would be a normal short hop jet that would make this type run? It was twin enjine i think, probably a hundred to 125 passengers. I just downloaded a few new AI models for my AI traffic. FAIB is the name. Their new 737's look real nice. Only problem? Their texture sizes are HUGE. The lightmap file itself is over 4 mb! That is crazy. What is the point of these new models if they give such worse performance because of high file sizes adding to vas?

Hi everyone, first time poster here and I love the community so far! I had a somewhat specific question that I didn't quite get an answer to in my forum search thus far and it regards the hard drive setup for a new FSX install after a clean windows install. My understanding is that the ideal situation would be to have separate quality SSD's for the OS and the FSX install to be on their own dedicated drives and then have an additional 1-2 HDD's for scenery addons and everyday storage. I heard some people get excited here because a military company has ended eventually releasing a patched version of FSX with partial support for cloud shadows or something. I have heard so many good things about PFE that I bought it over Rader Contact and VoxATC. I have been using it for few weeks now…don't get me wrong, I am fairly happy with the product but there are few glitches that's really annoying me. Hi I just purchased Opusfsx and for the life of me I cannot get it to save camera views on other PC. I have read the manual about 10 times given up twice. Now I am desperate. Please don't tel me that me sharing options are wrong or that the firewall is an issue or if av apps will stop it. it is a i7pc with only windows7 64bit and FSX acceleration and then OPUSfsx on it. all I want is camera views on my side windows not to complicated . Hey everyone. I just updated to the latest version and I've noticed a problem, wondering if anybody else has had this. I was getting a flight ready from KSEA to KBOI and when selecting an airway in the FMS I got booted to desktop. Thinking this was a random occurrence, I tried it again. Same thing happened. I noticed that it was when I tried to go to the 9th page of airways each time. I'll try a different flight and see if it goes better, but I wanted to see if this was a known issue. Brian

Hi all So, I recently bought the CS 757 after contemplating it for a while. I decided to do a short flight from KJFK to KMIA. I started cold and dark. The framerate was about 30-40 (I was using bandicam). As I started programming the FMC and was starting up the plane (didn't actually start the engines yet), I noticed that my framerate was dipping into the low-teens (about 10-13). I saved the flight and loaded it up again. My framerate was still in the low teens. I restarted FSX, lowered my settings to nearly the bare minimum (kept global texture res on high though), created the same flight and the same thing happened! Trying hard how to word this. I also believe that this may belong in the P3D forums as well........ I've been thinking long and hard about making the switch over to P3D and before all of you sit there and think "oh not another post about someone wanting to make the switch", hear me out. hi, I am trying to put the Altimeter on standby and TCAS (it is mentioned to use the middle mouse button) I am using it but nothing happens. I do have a mouse Logitech M705 in which I can assign functions to the middle button. Attached is the screen shot, and also try another wired USB mouse thought the problem was from it with no result. Hi guys. After many, many years of FS9, I decided to upgrade to FSX once I purchased a new PC. have installed it plus acceleration and am in process of configuring the sim. Have followed the many tweaks found on line, shader changes, etc. Well on my way. However, once I got to finally start tooling around my local area (atlanta), I was very disappointed for a few reasons. These are probably all known issues here I am sure. 1. I think the order of items in my scenery config is messed up. I tried doing a screen capture and posting it, but got an error message from the forum saying that I was not allowed to include that typr of file. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I remember reading, some time ago, that rebooting the computer and then starting your FSX flight "cleared the memory" and allowed FSX to run smoother with less frequent, or no stuttering, assuming the computer has been used for other activities prior to loading FSX. I have, by today's standards, a modest system: Intel Core i5-750, Nvidia GTS-450 video card and 8GB DRAM. Rebooting before flying does "seem" to improve performance but maybe some of this perception is a result of the "power of suggestion" and not empirical evidence. I'm wondering if anyone else has any thoughts about this. Thanks.

So I just saw this piece of news on a tech site and instantly though of the uses it would possibly have in simulation environment, AKA one of the complaints i saw here about oculus rift is how you don't see your own hands and it wouldn't probably work too well due to that. But what about this? Think of the possibilities in a flight simulation environment: See yourself sitting in the cockpit of a plane and reaching out for the buttons and interacting with them. I have a button on my joystick when pressed cycle thru the fsx views outside tower spot etc, I made two camera views and mapped them to two different buttons on my joystick one being the button for cycling thru the fsx views but when pressed it still cycles thru the fsx view and also the new camera view I set up do I have to delete the views in the fsx control settings so only my new opus camera view will be displayed Thanks,jim

I lost my computer & all of my flight sim gear due to the NE floods in 2011. The only computer I can use right now is a back-up that a friend was able to give me. Its a 2.7 dual-core AMD w/ 8gb of RAM, and a GeForce 9800 GT vcard. I think I already know the answer, but is this good enuf to fly with? If so, which sim would be better to have, FSX or X-plane? Hello, I have Orbx scenery (FTX Global) and I notice some shimmering in the distant horizion also there is shimmer in boat docks where the boats shimmer. I do not have Nvida inspector just the basic Nvidia 3d adjustments. I do not have AA on. Is there an adjustment for this? I may need to download Nvidia inspector? I see other peoples screen shots with no shimmer at all. Forgot to mention that I also have some shimmer on gauges as well. Any help will be appreciated.
