Hello again. Being a newbie to FSX after many many many years of FS9 hold out, I am in need of some replacements for things like AFCAD, Traffic Tools, EditVoicePack, etc that were tried and true tools in FS9. Are there working FSX equivalents? Or...is there some better tool set now? Thanks Eric

Hi Guys, under FS9, I grew quite used to being able to use my mouse scroll wheel and mouse to pan around and zoom views in VC mode in cockpits. Now iwth FSX, I dont seem to have that ability. I have a Saitek X55 Rhino HOTAS that I use for flying and it works well using FSX native joystick and throttle button configurations, but I cant get the mouse to be usable for views at all. How can I get this back? Very critical when working almost exclusivel in VC mode in FSX. Thanks Eric

I'm getting crashes when loading saved flights with the both 3.46 and 3.47. Hi all- I was wondering if there's a way to increase the brightness of the VC cockpit at night in the EDG Citation X 2.0. I've tried the Flood switch which brings a small amount of light into the cabin but it's still pretty dark. If not, is there a way to increase the brightness of the flood knob by increasing its value somewhere in a cfg file? Thanks, Mark

Greetings I hope someone can help me out with this. I wanted to fly out of CYYZ (default) after not being there for awhile. When I started a flight there, I noticed that all of the terminal buildings were gone. The jetways are there; and it appears that all of the other buildings are as well. I've been flailing around trying to find the answer. Here's what I've done...don't laugh: -searched for any bgl files containing cyyz and changed extension. There were files in MyTraffic, Orbx and AES. -ran the stand alone Addon Manager from FSDreamTeam. -installed a downloaded freeware addon for CYYZ. That got the terminal buildings back (Terminal 1 and 3). The …

Recently I have been having a lot of trouble with FSX, from the Gameuxinstallhelper.dll not being found on installation (which I have now fixed) to this - I specifically told FSX to install to C:/Program Files, but it installs into C:/Program Files (x86). How do I tell it to install into C:/Program Files? I have set it in More Options in the installation process, but it just doesn't install in the specific area I told it to...

I just downloaded the big_thumbnail_pack of bgl images for use with Instant Scenery, but the read me file does not say what to actually do with the files, can anyone point me in the right direction as what to do? Many thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Guys, Just now I'm using opus only for dynamic head movements as I'm not ready to use live cameras and using another weather program ( sorry ). My normally used view is cockpit view but I hide the panel so I view the outside world full screen which fits nicely behind my desktop hardware glare shield etc. So . . .looking left and right without my panel loaded looks like everything is lined up properly. Now when I load up opus . . . .my front view seems to nod down 15 degrees or more so now left and right don't look good with the forward view. I can reset the forward view by cycling through the views but loking left or right and returning to fwd view nods down 1…

I'm having this odd problem. For the first boot into Windows for the day, and first bootup up FSX the loading screen is behind everything, but I can see the progress bar in front of all windows. The load takes a long time (about 4x as long as subsequent loads). Then, when it finally loads, the whole thing minimizes to the task bar and I cannot open it. The game doesn't seem to be frozen, because I can right click "close window," and it gives me the usual prompt (with the FSX GUI) "are you sure you want to exit...." I am a big fan of DCS, but I cannot wait for their F/A-18, as it can take more than a year until a F/A-18 is released. What I want to ask is, is the F/A-18E by VRS worth buying? Or is there a better F/A-18 Simulator? Thank you

Hello all Urgent because I have someone coming to fly the sim and a new issue has appeared. FSX splash screen appears after I start the programme then disappears never to be found although it continues to load. I checked in task manager and shows it running. Hi not to long ago i went to captain sim to check out there liveries for 767 Captain an i found the liveries . But now when i go to there site i can't find it . I mean if i would like to purchase one of his product i would at lease like to see a list of liveries or something . Hi everyone, Something's just started happening that bugging me. My normal cockpit view is (cockpit view - panel) because I have my own cockpit setup on my desktop with a hardware MCP etc. Anyway, the problem I have is as I move my view top hat switch left or right to look left or right. When I let go to return to the fwd view then my forward view seems to have dropped about 15 degrees and I just can't work out why that's happening. Anyone had this and sorted out what's going on ? Is there a good freeware helicopter available for FSX? I never fly helis but I thought it would be a good way to do a bit of reconnaissance on all the new payware airports I've just purchased, jump in the chopper and have a good fly around the airport!

OK, here we go... Carenado has some VERY preliminary shots up of their latest announcement, a Piper Seneca V. As a hardcore GA guy who's main love is piston twins, this is a plane I've been hoping they'd do, but all I can say is this: Please, please PLEASE Carenado! Do an earlier analog gauge version with RXP support as you did with the Mirage. Or even a G600 similar to what you did with the G500 JetProp with RXP integration to give good functionality. But please, I'm begging you, whatever you do... Not another neutered G1000 release. Please. No really, please. Scott

Hello. So I have an interesting problem that I can't figure out. I just bought Steve's DX10 fixer. Before using it, I backed up my existing fsx.cfg(DX9) and then let FSX create a new fax.cfg file. I also deleted my shaders folders(the 5 under the shaders dir). Then, I installed and configured the DX10 fixer. Somewhere in this process, my default zoom view in the cockpit got thrown off. I don't mean that it is defaulting to the wrong level, say .6 instead of .7 or something like that. What I mean is that now, in order for me to have the same view I had before at .7, I now have to zoom out to .4. This is at least what FSX is telling me in the upper right hand…

Hi, So maybe this is just a celebration of the fact I've reached a plateau in my FSX knowledge where I pretty much feel like I have a good feel for what works, what doesn't, why problems crop up and how to solve them -- all of course with the caveat that FSX is at some level magic and pixie dust and will always leap out at you in unexpected ways.....
