Hi,I have been away from this hobby for a few months now. I am finally able to resume flying!!!! My question is, has the problem with third party auto pilot been fixed? I mean, has anyone figured out how to use the altitude hold like FS2000? I would like to be able to select the altitude hold button and still be able to change course manually.Thanks,Tom

I have a kinda unusual problem that I'm sure other people suffer from. I'm just not sure what to do about it, or how to solve the problem. My problem is that I have a new interest in FS. Right now, I wanna fly a Cathay Pacific 747-200, and at the same time, I wanna do all US Airways' flights. In a few days, I'll wanna do American 767 flights. I've been in so many VA's because of this problem. Right now, I think I'm in 4 VA's, because my interests shift so frequently.I've tried trying to stick with one aircraft, and I made it about a month. That was with a 757 and the 767 PIC with it. Some how some way I have screwed something up. I can no longer save .cfg files. When I open them in wordpad, then make changes, when I hit the save button the "save as" window opens and of course, .cfg is not one of the options only the different text files. This problem applies to:1.You are running Geof's deb on the non-proFS2002 version, (I suspect it may be the same on the Pro version)2. You are using that version of panel.cfg which was createdfor NOT using the RealityXP radio stack.THEN:...you may have found that after flying the deb, FS2002may choke when you try to change to another plane or another flight. Hi,I'm wondering if anyone can direct me to any online reference to "real-world" airline procedures; that is, I'd like to know things like what climb and descent rates are comfortable for passengers, what bank angles shouldn't normally be exceeded, things like that. Essentially, procedures that can be followed in FS.Plus, "inside" info would be nice, too - things like how airport ground operations work, etc. Just for the fun of reading it I guess.I looked on some virtual airline sites but didn't see much.Thanks,Andrew

I just need to know which is the better heavyb airliner (773, 744, 734 or any airbus add on for FS2002 so far. I'm wondering if we can expect any "new" and improved textures for FS2002. We had excellent quality textures produced for FS2000 which consisted of seasonal, and night textures. Is anyone planning to release some new textures for FS2002?Will

Hey guys, i am currently running a 2 and a half year old system with flight sim 2k2. PIII 700mHz 100mHz front side bus, 28 MB RAM, 17GB hard drive, nVida TnT 8MB graphics card, Windows 98. It gets reasonable frame rates when u are in the middle of the desert with no scenery or traffic wat so ever but thats not wat im looking for. I luv to have a highly detailsed quality aircraft, with heaps of scenery, especially at my hometown of DFW airport (simflyers)Im looking to upgrade my system soon. Wat would be the ultimate system to run flight sim 2k2 and prolly 2k4 on with super frame rates...eg wats the best processor, hard drive, graphics card, sound card, RAM memory???Yo…

Running into sound issues now. Installed PSS 777 and the update to A320, now I'll get to within 40 miles of an airfield, ATC will issue a command and freeze. Get caught in a loop if you will, I think something might be wrong with my sound. Running an onboard sound card, tried updating drivers, but looking in my hardware profile on XP it's showing a Yamaha legacy driver, a Legacy driver and an Avance AC97 Via Audio driver. Should I try and update all these? Not sure what's going on here, but I'm sure getting frustrated.Joe

I bought these two add-ons and I have to say after all the hype around them I am fairly disappointed.The FSScene Europe Textures are only 8bit. They look blurry even without the FS2002 blurries. Great. Get Lennart's Europe Textures. They are 4 times better, and hey, they are for free.FSLandclass Scenery Packs are a great idea, but hey, the realization lacks heavily on effort. I still have residential areas right next to my airports. For this price I expect a little more accuracy. I've seen several posts asking how to properly backup PSS aircraft. The replies, I feel, are not entirely helpful to most. Others may have other ways of backing up PSS aircraft properly. I am merely trying to clarify the process that I use successfully.Both the AirbusPro and the Triple7 are installed via the base installation program downloaded from the PSS Website. During the install process the install location is greyed out so you cannot re-direct to a different install location. The installer looks at your registry info to determine where FS2002 is installed. To easily get around this just rename your FS2002 directory to something else.For example: C:Program FilesFS20…

I had read some posts regarding overlay switch happening when planes land on overlay airports.Someone suggested that changing refernce points on overlay airports can avoid this switching. I have done a lot of work on KSFO and I am currently encountering this problem of overlay switching. Could some, who has worked on KSFO refernce points and solved the problem of overlay switching point me in the right direction ?

I used to have a really good one then it got deleted now I forget what it was and I can't seem to find it anywhere.

This is probably obvious to many, but some A/c have files under 1Kb, I figure those use a lot of default. Some are 5-7Kb and seem to have everything. But I have seen some from 38-192 MB (yes 192MB, AN-2 in Fsfreeware). Why such a huge difference?

Heres one....My default MD-83 planes wont show up. The files are listed in the aircraft folder. FSEDIT sees them. But FS2002 doesn't. They don't appear in the program anywhere. Not under their manufacture name: McDonnell-Douglas/Boeing, not under Boeing, not under All.I restored the md_83 folder from the CDROM's .cab file and still it doesn't find them...Any thoughts...

This applies strictly to VIA chipsets only. If ever there was a card more finicky card in a VIA system, the GF4 is it.
