Hi,I seem to have lost my smoke effects (the black smoke such as in PFG's BAC 1-11 or that fabulous Tu-154) - or, better, if I turn them on and view my plane from behind, I can see some sort of "flickering" with the whole screen going a shade darker for a fraction of a second. I guess this means that something's corrupt - I've thought that it might be the .bmp for the smoke effects, but even after replacing it with a new one from a friend I can't see any changes. Anyone know what it might be?:-zhelp Thanks... Federico :)

Wow, nice job Mike, captured the ungainly lines of this beast nicely!I have a bit of pitch instability, just need to trim carefully. She lands nice and slow and you can do the "wheelbarrel" manuever too! The flaps are fantastic and look just like the real aircraft! I took the liberty of enhancing the C7 texture colors slightly, think it reflects the Vietnam 3 tone scheme a bit better now. I changed the tan color on top of the cowl as it didnt quite match upright there. Also working on the font for the C on the tail as I think it was more a block type letter. I am looking forward to someonedoing some nice detail texturing with a bit of weathering added, Im not so good in t…

I found this site through Smithsonian's Air & Space magazine and I love it! They "sell" paper airplane models that you can download, print in color, and build and the quality is excellent! I put "sell" in quotes because there are some freebies (I started with the free Piper Cub) and the others are $2-$4, not very much in this day and age. They are extremely gratifying to build - good directions and very well designed. I was skeptical at first but was so pleased with the first one that I've made several more. My 5y old son loves them and they hang all over his ceiling now. I find they take about two evenings (maybe 4 hours total) to complete but I might be slow. Make s…

  9. Hi All,I was wondering about the following situation I have:I own CH Pro Throttles USB and the CH Pro Pedals USB and installed the latest patch from CH Products. I have WinXP running. Most of the times when I push the brakes button on my keyboard (dot .) or button 1 (on the yoke, front left) the brakes do not activate. I have checked the control assignments, full repeation both (. and button 1). The brakes on the Pedals do work (left and right). When I check the control assignments in fs2002.cfg it is stated that the brakes are assigned to button00. Is this the same as button 1 in the control assignments? When I change the control assignments via the menu settings, set it b…

  10. I've had the Saitek Cybork 3D digital joystick for ages now (not the USB version, but the one that plugs into the gamesport in the back). It's a great joystick, but it has the following problem: every few seconds, the controls flicker. For example when taxing, if I leave the joystick alone, the aircraft will taxi in a straight line for a few seconds, then suddenly jolt to the left or right, because of the flicker. If you go to configure the joystick, you can see in the calibration section, that the controls (on all axes) are constantly jumping. Is there a way to resolve this? Thanks in advanceSunil Mulay

Hi All,Executing a standard KCMH-Port Columbus Intl/OH approach (GUNNE-10R), I had problems with the active ILS 10R (IAQI-108.70) glideslope, which I guess is misaligned, as the descent point is too near the runway. I had to declare a MA and manual landed the bird. I'm using KCMH FS2K2 Pro default scenery. Can any of you confirm or check this out? Thanks!Greetings,

Can somebody please tell me one city on each side of the Atlantic which I can choose that will give me a direct route in FS2002 without getting a zig-zag course? I want to be able to use the flight planner with ATC to get across the Atlantic. Now, for example, if I choose JFK or any other the other several cities in the US to any of those I chose in England, Ireland, or Germany, the course takes me to North Africa first. I am using IFR and High Altitude airways options to make it realistic as possible and don't want to use the GPS (although I have not tried) because that option would not be real. Thanks,Rob

Because after the last mail i get no more replies._______Mike :-fume_______Dear Davide,I'm sorry to hear your conclusion and your support to your own products, Unhappy customers is something you as a company should try to avoid but I see that your opinion is different and you basicly say that its my fault and that I'm stupid. To bad you think this way. Please I beg you to reconcider. I would like to exchange this product with a other LAGO Product. Is t…

To "lightly" continue this subject:How come MSFS is still using aircraft models that are who knows how old, while xplane takes the actual shape of a plane to calculate 'real time' flight dynamics? So far............ it hasn't seemed to matter much. Although the X-Plane flight models are calculated differently, they still have many problems hitting the "numbers" or even "feeling" correct. It still takes a bunch of "tweaking"!! Fact is, there are just some made for MS flight models out there, that really seem close! The DF Archer is one of them!!L.Adamson

(this is probably only for non-force feedback yokes)I don't know if any of the SDKs would allow this to be programmed, but another sim I have has a trim wheel and a trim "button" - The wheel works just like the wheel in any other sim, but the trim button feels a lot more natural to me - when you're stabilized in your desired attitude, you push and hold the button, release yoke pressure, and voila, you're trimmed up.Now I realize real aircraft don't have a trim button (at least I think they don't!) but to me, pushing the button and releasing the yoke feels way more natural to me than trying to get it right with the trim wheel. The reason for this is that in a real 172, I a…

Since I wrote the original post which caused this mess, I want to get rid of a few comments.Firstly, I have to congratulate the people here. You've taken a post that was intended to achieve something postive and give some constructive critisism back to M$ and turned it into a post where people just have a go at each other which is even more useless then the recent SDKs. I think there are different opions if a petition would have an effect or not, but the way this discussion headed it's surely just a waste of time and even more useless than any petition.I understand if an avsim moderator locks the thread to avoid possible flames (which aren't of any use), but one has to as…

Had problems earlier, no responses, so I thought I'd post again. I don't know what happened to my system. I uninstalled FS2k2, then reinstalled and as soon as I started a flight with default cessna at default EGLL, released brakes (didn't even call ATC), screen went black and it dropped me back to the desktop. I can't figure out what's happened, the only things I've added that I can think of lately, are PSS 777 and PSS A320 update, and !! the new VIA 4in1 drivers. I don't see a way to uninstall them. Anyone know how? I don't think it could be PSS products, it's got to be the VIA drivers. Any help?JoeAMD 1800 XP512 DDR RAMK7VTA3 mobo40 MB 7,200 HDWin XP Pro

Hi folks. I read a lot of requests for opinions of video cards for use with Flight Simulator. Tom's Hardware has what I found to be an excellent chart listing technical specs and FPS rates for a variety of chipsets (tested with a variety of games...some graphics-intensive, some not so much, so you can get a solid idea). The link is:http://www6.tomshardware.com/graphic/02q2/020418/index.htmlWhen looking at frame rate comparisons, I used the "Quake" info for general First Person Shooter gaming info, and used the "Aquanox" ratings to simulate what I might get with Flight Simulator (because of the different environments I understand that game has). Since I've now purchased …

Hi folks.Situation: You're in a light single GA craft like the Dreemfleet Piper Archer II (which was the plane I was in). You're up high... around 10,000' in the mountains and ... well, it's dinner time so you decide to set down. The airport you choose has one runway. 18/36Wind is coming from 270 at 20 to 25 kts.I did all this and was crabbing like I've never done before. I (barely) got the plane on the ground, and had it been real life, it probably would have been thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of damage (though no damage was indicated in-sim).Basically, how much wind (esp. at a 90 degree angle to the runway) is too much? In real life, would my only REAL o…

Has anyone used Easy Nav to add an ILS in FS2002? If so did it work ok? I have added one and I cannot seem to get the localizer to line up properly with the runway when I fly the approach. The glide slope works fine. I have checked the lat/long several times and cannot find anything wrong. Any ideas appreciated. Many thanksBill
