I have been working all day installing scenery files with very few, if any problems; until now.I have repeatedly tried to install a folder,Beluga Lake, into my "Add-On Scenery" folder. No problem.I then, from within FS, and as I have been doing with no problem, bring up the menu, go into "World/Scenery Library," click on "Add Area" find the appropriate folder, etc etc., then click OK.It goes through its regular routine of adding scenery files, data, etc., but when I try "Go To Airport" (after it has supposedly installed) and then "Search Add-On Scenery, nothing. What I have supposedly added, isn't showing up!!Looking at the scenery.cfg file, I now have 150 areas. It seem…

I just tried the updated .AIR file issued by FFG for the Lear 35A.I absolutely love the visual model ... none better ever released for any flight sim. But, the ground handling (especially during takeoff roll) is horrifying. Can I just plug in the updated Lear 45 .AIR, and enjoy the whole package?

Hi allUsing aircraft that show graphic representation of wind speed and direction in the ND PSS a320 DF737 etc,I,ve noticed that I have to use rudder Input Which seems to be the reverse of what would be needed in real life. For Example Takeoff from RW 27 at Heathrow Wind reported as 195 10kts Needle on ND correctly reports wind blowing from my left to my right.Intead of using Left rudder to hold the aircraft I have to use right rudder to remain centreline??.Anyone else noticed this?.cheersJohn

Now I know that Microsoft will be having new versions of Flight Simulator, like Fs2004,Fs2006 etc, But are there any new Flight Simulators that are going to be released to compete with Microsoft? I'am asking this because I have been away a while and haven't heard much of any new Flight Sims being released in the anytime future. Thanks, Chris

I am curious if there is a way to change the atc to 25R instead of 7L because I'd don't think 7L is realistic unless there is Santa Ana winds blowing from the desert. 25R should be used regardless if there is very little wind at the airport. Just a case example I was coming in on a America West A320 and I was pretty much setup onto 25R even though it told me 7L. I got the famous Microshaft would you like to send the error message to Microshaft etc. It turned out the atc.dll was the offending file. I thought it might have been caused by coming in on 25R, however I am not sure. Here is another issue, I found atc only seems to use 1 active runway at airports for some re…

I have recently gotten a few file not found error when flying around my normal area (Baltimore, MD). 1. Is there any way to trace the file numbers given in the error message back to the scenery bgl file?2. How do you prevent this error from occuring?3. How can you tell what type of scenery file is missing? 4. The files listed in the error message appear to be in hex code. Is there some way to translate the file number to a scenery bmp file name?ThanksI'd Rather Be Flyin':-rotor

I run the system posted in my signature. I recently purchased F1 2002 which requires DX 8.1. I installed both the game and the new DX, and it ran fine...very happy. When I went back to FS, though, panning around the plane in spot view causes disappearing sections of aircraft, lines flashing all over the screen, and sometimes even blackouts of the sim. Its all graphical issues...doesn't cause any system mess-ups. I formatted and started all over, as this is the only way I know to downgrade a DX installation. Can anyone help, as I'd like to be able to go back to F1 as well. Thanks

Hello, Sorry to bother you guys but did anybody copy the spec sheet for PIC A320 before it went offline. I remember a full spec sheet talking about the systems, failure 3D cockpit, it was like 2 pages. I'd be so greatfull if anybody could email it to me or send me a link. Thanks, Marcemail is [email protected]

When you do an Instant replay, are the AI planes supposed to disappear? Ive never noticed it before but I noticed today that whenever I did an instant replay they would.Maybe they do.Craig Kiltie

Ok, I am ready to send em back if I cant figure this out. Got the wireless ED glasses. Everything set up correctly hardware wise, when I boot up with everything connected I get a very grayed-out view on my monitor of the desktop...to the point you can not even make anything out. Have tried 23.11 drivers with 23.11 stereo drivers, 28.32 drivers with 28.32 stereo drivers, same thing. I realy think this is a bum hardware issue because I would assume that if it was drivers I would at least get my normal windows view on boot up, then maybe problems with getting the stereo to work. When I go back to just the monitor pluged in, everything is ok again. I have wrote to ED, but so …

Can a commercial jet pilot please confirm this for me?I have spent many hours riding up front of some B727, B737 etc some years back and I thought from memory the '1,000' to go' (or therabouts) altitude audio horn sounded as assigned altitude was approached - regardless of whether the auto-pilot was engaged or not.Can anyone please clarify this for me?In the UIPC module, the warning horn only sounds if the auto-pilot is engaged as the assigned alt. is approached, whereas one of the B727's I have, has the exact audio horn replica sound and this sounds even if the auto-pilot is disengaged ... as I would have expected (and as I thought was the case in reality). Thanks in anti…

It will crash FS2002. When using Fs Meteo just now, FS2002 started freezing up with FPS going to less than 1. Shutting down FS Meteo fixed it. This has happened before and the cause is the server FS Meteo uses. It also crashed FS2002 on me. I don't have the author Marc's email but someone who does needs to tell him or it will be down all weekend and into next week.

I recently sat through the flight video that came with the boxed version of the Phoenix A320 Professional package (a very nice hard copy handbook came also) and I enjoyed what I saw. The handbook recommends viewing the video before you try the aircraft; I did the opposite, installed the aircraft and immediately tried a takeoff as if I was flying the default 737-400. Bad news, it doesn

I have a Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro 2 (no force feedback) and I have run into this slight problem: if I use a certain aircraft (to be more specific: the 747, Caravans, and King Air) and set the throttle to what is supposed to be idle, the computer interprets it as 1% thrust and the aircraft starts moving. Also, it won't go to full throttle power (only 99%). Setting the sensitivity and null zone only decreased the gap, so to speak (instead of 1 being the lowest and 99 being the highest, it would be 2 and 98, and so on). My specs are below.Any help is appreciated. (BTW, I know I can tap F1 and F4, but it seems better to fix the "problem.")

Hey gang,I'm probably opening up another can of worms...but here goes:I've been flying the DC-10 a bit lately, and one of the things that always strikes me is how high most of the N1 settings are for the various stages of flight. For example, for takeoff thrust, the N1 settings go as high as 118% in the really hot and high situations, but even a more "normal" situation can require N1 of 107%. In cruise, if you're in a mid-weight situation, the N1 can range from 95%-104% (This is all taken from performance charts and manuals -- thank you, Matt Zagoren!).Getting around to my main point: I have always been under the impression that N1 numbers were a percentage based on the de…
