I currently have a voodoo 5 but it is not supported anymore, as everyone knows. I was wondering if there are any new PCI cards out there that anyone can recommend. I am thinking about going to AGP but would have to get a new computer..yikes. Well, maybe it is time. I have an pentium iii compaq and I know some of the new cards require a lot of power on the motherboard. Any help would be appreciated.

Tom,Several times now I've tried to link to some of your sponsors through their banner ads and get diverted to the Tahoe forum. This happens with "The Real Cockpit" and the "Go Flight" ads in particular but might happen with others. It's a bit frustrating when I'm really trying to get product info. Can anyone provide the link to Bill Grabowski's panel for FS2002? I can't seem to find it in the AVSIM library. The only version I see is FS2000 and FS98. Most of the repaints state "Optimized for use with Bill Grabowski's panel, but where is the actual panel for download?" Thanks!Keith

As the originator of this thread I must first of all apologise for confusing FSD with Flight One.That said I stand by my comments about the Cessna 421 (and indeed the Cheyenne)despite some of the responses to what I had to say.1. I tried this past weekend to fly a Consellation in old TWA colorsI downloaded a while back from Tom Gibson's Classic Airlines Web site. The plane was listed as designed for fs98 and fs2000. Since some fs 2000 planes work in fs2002, I gave it a try. Ground handling was OK...no problems with take off, or even landings. But, anytime I tried to climb beyond 10k, I progressively lost airspeed and lift...even trying to climb at 500 fpm. I have not played around with fuel loads, but cannot believe that a real connie could not climb with full fuel in its tanks. So, is the flaw in the airfile, and is anyone interested in designing a connie for fs2k2. It's such a beautiful aircraft…

For those that like to have FS2002 lights on the IFDG

Okay, I know that this probably doesn't belong in this forum but this is where I live, well, just about anyway.I use Windows XP.One of the many features that I like is the "Filstrip" feature when looking at the contents of a folder; at least when i get that option anyway.In some folders, when I select the "view" option, the best I get is "Thumbnails" whereas in others I get "Filmstrip", which is great for browsing through a folder with a lot of images in it.Why is this only available in some versus others? It appears to be completely at random.Is there a way to enable this "Filmstrip" feature in ALL folders?Regards,Heather

I was going to repaint an A340, and was looking to see which airlines operated them, specifically US carriers. I found that no US carriers had A340s in their fleet. Is this true? It probably is, I've never seen an A340 in any US based airline's livery. I found that between 1989 & 1991, Northwest had an order for 24 A340-300s. & Continental had an order for 7.

Will someone tell me how to remove the Contrails in FS2K2 Pro that appear when the aircraft approaches FL300, please? I have d/l a nice little program that allows me to turn contrails on/off 'at will', simply by pressing the "i" key - these contrails are much slimmer than the default ones.Afterthought! Anyone know where I can d/l a MD-11 Freighter?

Hi there.This is something which Ive heard about before but didnt really pay much attention to it but then I tried it this morning and it made quite a big difference.I was checking this morning what a performance hog my USB Adsl modem was and this is what I had.Default Meigs....All sliders on Max...apart from visibility being on 100 miles. ATC on 100 percent apart from IFR Traffic only ticked.I got 15.6 frames per second..thats on the front view without dashboard and mini panel also. That was with my modem attached.WIthout my modem, after rebooting and shutting down zone alarm etc it jumped upto 21.4 frames per second..now thats quite a difference....but then I did someth…

Hi.I've read good comments about the GPS built in to the Golden Eagle 421C from Flight One.I haven't yet bought the plane, but it's in my list of add-ons for July. :) If I do get it, will I be able to use that plane's GPS with other aircraft I have?--Tony

With the imminent release of the Parhelia GPU I thought I would spend an afternoon going through all the information on the Matrox website regarding the product. Not only am I excited by the on-paper potential of this GPU, but even if the on-paper hype meets reality only part way, there is still going to be very fierce competition with Nvidia - great news for all of us. Already I have seen dealers start to not-so-subtly reduce the prices of Geforce 4 Ti cards.Of particular interest to me is the fact that Matrox (and / or the hardware testers) have clearly been playing around with FS2002 whilst developing this GPU. I've tried two add-on sceneries in FS2k2 for Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Int'l. One by Page Cline and the other by Christopher Gilbert. In both cases, it is impossible to taxi the aircraft. The taxi strips behave like I'm taxiing on the beach. Sand kicking up and eventually the landing gear fails.Set flat commands don't seem to help.I see AFCAD files for this scenery, so I assume somebody is using it with better success. Hopefully not with helicopters.Does anyone know of a way to correct this condition?Both are great renditions of KCVG. Would love to use one of them.Your help would be appreciated.

Let's try this again - I am running a PIII 800, 512 ram and a Radeon 64 mb DDR Vi VO card. I am also seeing a drastic reduction in frame rates as I add on more and more stuff, especially at night in termnal areas. I need upgrade advice - PIV or Athlon, A GeForce 4 card, Both ?( I would like to keep the costs reasonable) Thanks for advice from any of you who have the answers.Bruce
