Well.....I finally got it working by activating this new thing called ADDON SCENERY. Never had to deal with that before and it was empty until this OSH thing got popped in there. But none of that happened by itself, and there were NO instructions anywhere to that effect. Typical Microsoft, although that is NOT typical EAA, and I have let them know about it.By the way, for those of you who haven't been to Oshkosh, or Airventure, as it is now called, this scenery (when and if you can get it working) is very good and has me already dreaming about this year! This will be the 16th year for me, and it is always worth it! Just so you know, though, the density (even maxed)of…

Help Anyone;I have both the Cessna 421C and the Archer II. My question is: does anyone know how to modify the Panel CFG of the 421C so that the transition from the Main panel to the Landing panel is the same as it is with the Archer? With the Archer, if you are using the Landing panel and pan left or right, when you hit the key to return forward you are still in the Landing panel. With the 421C if you hit that key it puts you back to the Main panel so that you now have to click on the panel eyebrow to get back to the Landing panel. Also, with the Archer, you can go back and forth from either 2D panel(Main or Landing) to the Virtual panel. With the 421, you can only go to t…

Hey gang,I just flew a Western Airlines DC-6 by Tom Gibson from Seattle to San Fran. When I downloaded the plane, I also downloaded the FS2k2 update, which, among other things, gives you control over contrails via the smoke system (which looks very nice, by the way).Out of curiosity, when did the contrails on propliners start to appear? Obviously not at the 30,000 feet of the jets. I didn't even know contrails were that regular with the propliners...I always thought they appeared a good deal higher than the props flew. Thanks in advance,Matt

Having been an old simmer many years ago I got interested again with 2K2 and find it a much improved product over the early versions.I have been experimenting to get the best 'eye candy' possible and find now I can run the sim on all settings at maximum, I have a flightplan IA in excess of 30K movements between 06:00 and 19:00Even though I have a high end system that I put together myself, I went through a stage of very poor frame rates when approaching busy airports. What I have discovered may help others, as I have read a few posts here along simular lines.I find that using aircraft for AI other than gmax models will greatly effect your frame rate, I now only use gmax mo…

I downloaded the model update that allows reflective textures, but all of my old textures from the previous model don't show up. How can I make my old textures work w/ the updated model?

If anybody on this forum uses the PSS 777 in FS2002 and has a functioning LoadEdit for that a/c, I would be hugely grateful if you could e-mail me a copy of the file. I have the PSS 777 from FS2000 which I patched for Fs2002, but the LoadEdit does not work at all. I did not run the PSS base installer for the 777 in FS2002 because I was worried about screwing up my setup which I patched manually and which works perfectly well.My e-mail is [email protected] you for any assistance!JS

My PC has been from time to time the last couple off days shuting down and then restarting all by itself and a few times it was not even restating so I went into my BIOS and checked PC HEALTH and found my CPU temps topping 149 to 152 dgrs and system temps at 120 dgrs. I have shut it down and opened it up and the CPU fan was running but the fan that is over top of the main chipset was not however after a little playing with the connector it is now back to running to.Current system temps. is no 98dgr and CPU is 125dgrsI have decided to leave ths side cover loosly off so it can breathe better. If any one has any other suggestion I would be appreciative also does Win98 put mor…

Does anyone have an idea why the setup program for the Oshkosh scenery requires a reboot to complete installation ? It certainly should not need to replace any system DLLs that might be in use, it's only BGLs and BMPs, or am I missing something ? It would be interesting to know what else was installed here 'under the covers'. When I rebooted (this is still on Win98SE), it said that system files were updated, so something must have happened.Cheers,Siggy

Can someone explain how I can remove posky aircraft from being used as AI?? I have been using project AI's aircraft and they are much more frame rate friendly. Also the posky aircraft sometimes just sit there and don't move which causes a big traffic jam..Thanks in advance!!JC

With the July sale of FS Scene Europe, I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how FS Scene will work with Landclass Europe pack. Are they compatible? If they are, it's got to be a must buy as the textures look great.Lobaeux

A few comments about PAI...IMHO it will transform FS2002....eventually.!I`ve been flying in and out of Paris Orly (LFPO)which with the amount of traffic I`ve been adding had been getting pretty sticky.I changed most of the ai traffic for PAI`s and saw a huge improvement in frame rates, we are talking B744s, b743s, b734s, b763s, a320s, a321s, a330s, md80s,plus my b1900s, ATRs and GA.(and my AI was all G-max before!)Hurrah!...now I can go back to my home airport London Heathrow which had become immpossible, I`ve so missed EGLL!The main problem with PAI is the amount of tweaking that one has to do (especially if you don`t know how) and thats just with the aircraft, I do my o…

Just to reconfirm what has been a long standing result ever since Matrox included the Vsync=off feature in their old Mystique video card and as a result stirred up their competitors into making it available in their cards as well and is available down to this very day and the recent interest in this setting I am posting some testing results for your review. Please Note:As in the previously posted topic concerning Vsync and a possible performance increase by turning it on: If you are using Microsoft approved

Anniette, I am so pleased with your repaints of Mike Stones fabulous Beech 1900!!! I downloaded the Continental Express paint the other day and I am looking at your America West and Colgan Air repaints with much drool!!! LOL. I was wondering, would it be possible for you to repaint a similar scheme? I would love to see the 1900 in Continental Connection (Gulfstream Int'l Airlines) colours. Also, they have a specially painted 1900D (Grand Bahama) that looks awesome, and would look even better on Mike's 1900...I'll include a couple links to some photos of both schemes...Thanks!GeorgeContinental Connection:http://www.airliners.net/open.file/233442/L/http://www.airliners.n…

I have an effect that I see on my screen in both FS2002 and Train Sim. I use the expression "scintillation" for it. It is difficult for me to describe -- it is only evident when there is movement on the screen . It is a kind of "high speed flashing" and , when looked at closely, looks like certain edges of 3d buildings are being "redrawn".Now , when I first ran the new Oshkosh scenery, it was VERY evident and unfortunately spoils the effect of the scenery. Does anybody else know what I am talking about? Another post here was discussing monitor vertical sync rates -- and Iwas wondering about that. My son (who is a professional games programmer - mostly programmes in lo…

Hi All,Just a second confirm that DONMO is right about the settings for the OSKOSH scenery from MS.Normally by a new and fresh installation of FS2002,it creates a Scenery and Texture directory under Addon scenery.Automatic installing of the OSKOSH scenery put the BGLs and Textures by default in this 2 directorys.WHY???MS did a bad job in this .exefile!!!!If you do nothing about it you wil NOT see all the details of the OSKOSH scenery!!!!After you had the OSKOSH scenery installed you MUST make a new directory either under ADDONS or Scenery, called i.e.OSHKOSH.Then make 2 subdirs in the DIR. of OSHKOSH Scenery. Then MOVE the BGLs from the scenery under ADDONS to the scenery s…

Hello All!I have been tweaking my graphics settings once again in FS2K2, specifically trying to get the Dreamfleet 737, PIC 767, DF Archer, and F1Software C421, to run smoothly and with higher frame rates.Well, I have finally found the settings for my system that have achieved that.My average frame rates with most of my aircraft have been around 13-15 FPS on the ground and 20-25 FPS (Locked @ 25) in the air. However, using the add-on aircraft above, my average FPS on the ground were around 3-5 FPS! The stuttering was so horrible, these airplanes were unflyable.Well, after removing these airplanes from FS2K2, I got to the point were I wanted to make them work since I had sp…

Hi is there a way to have the default 777 virtual cockpit in a b777 opensky 777 or as the 747 default virtual cockpit to be in a opensky 747...thanks

Maybe your setup is like mine. You have individual add on scenery folders scattered all over, each folder named to reflect the respective sceneries which are then accessed by FS2002 through scenery.cfg. But, I find this rather confusing especially when one area might be designed by one author, updated by another, and revised by someone else. I wonder if there is a more efficient way to file scenery and have it accessed by FS2002. For instance, would there be any loss in having one folder i.e. c:fssceneryscenery and another designated c:fslandclassscenery. Conventional .bgl files would all go in the fsscenery folder and the landclass sceneries would all go into the fs lan…
