I was fooling around testing FS2002 performance differences between Win98SE and WinXP Pro on a new CPU (2.2a Northwood @ 2750Mhz) and I started to wonder about FS2000. Remember those who, shortly after it was released, cried "MS has built a sim for the computer of the future"? Well, I'm here to tell ya, the future isn't here yet. Even on this CPU, FS2000 stutters just as badly as it did on the old P3/600. Now I know why all the tweaking we tried never worked.Trip

Guys, I have a question for you. Until now, I was using the FMC of the PSS 747 panel to create my flight plans, which is far more realistic than FS2002`s flight planner. But, as the ATC doesnt recognize it, I am now creating it there, save it and load it through the 747 FMC. However, I cant change the altitute and speed of a specific waypoint. I can do it later with the help of the FMC, but then the ATC just recognizes the cruising altitute of the basic flight planner, so it keeps asking you to climb at that altitute no matter if your planned waypoint altitute is different. How can I then change the altitute and speed of a specific waypoint via the basic flight planner? A…

Hi,I'm sorry if this been mentioned before, but I didn't find any definite answer how to sort this out in other posts.Bought PIC767 and installed with MSFS2002. I'm very impressed by this addon, but the framerate is very low, particularly in external view. I'm getting about one third to half framerate compared to stock MSFS2002 planes. The screen resolution/color depth change doesn't seem to have much difference.Examples (SanJoseIntl takeoff on runway ready for takeoff, external view at 1600*1200*32, locked at 30fps): -all visuals max: PIC767 5-8fps, stock MSFS airliner 10-16fps-all visuals min: PIC767 15+fps, stock airliner 30fps I assume that the detail (polygon count) …

Well I thought that my video card died on me....After I quit out of FS2002, my video went very dim, lost all of the blue color in the picture. I rebooted....still the same thing...it even showed that way in DOS and the BIOS screens...checked the cable, not loose, same thing....I tried the monitor on another computer it worked fine....So I am thinking that its the video card....well I took out the video card, cleaned it, and reseated it....now its working.....What do you all think? Hello,Is there a way to make the spot view in FS2002 like it was in FS2002 - i.e. allow the direction keys to move AROUND the aircraft instead of fixed positions around the aircraft?Is there some special keystroke I'm missing out on?Thanks,PP.

I know that this question has been posted before(and maybe answered) but I couldn't find it. As we know, in FS2k2 the approach to 36/18 @ DCA is wrong when on the ILS freq. and autopilot.(I believe that the 36 rwy has been changed to 01 which should not have any affect in FS2k2). Has anyone come up with a fix. I'm sure I'm not the only one who likes flying into DCA. Many thanks!GLB@KRIC

Does anyone have any info on this yoke??? I just cant use my Force Feedback anymore...It throws the plane all over the place--can't keep a heading without autopilot...I have already tried the CH Flight Yoke too and that fell apart on me---Threw it in the garbage...This Yoke is about $500...Just want to know if it is worth it?? I just reinstalled this wonderful addon plane but since I had installed it last time I bought the Reality-XP Avionics Package.During install I selected the Reality-XP option and then installed the patch. Following the readme I found the panel-xp file and renamed it panel.cfg and put it into the Deb's panel folder overwriting the old one.When in the plane and I hit the co-pilot button i get the complete radio stack but when i just hit the normal radio stack button 2 of my Reality-XP components are missing for some reason.Does anyone else have this problem? or did I do something wrong ?I am running the 1.10 version of Reality-XP and FS2002 Pro.Any guidence would be apprecia…

Hi. Can someone please tell me if I can do this....Lets say I want to set up a round-trip in FS2002. The flight planner allows me to select a destination, but only one.What I want to know is, is it possible to set up a flight involving multiple airports without having to use the flight planner for each leg?I've tried adding waypoints by moving the red line onto other airports, but when I land and take-off again, the ATC doesn't seem to understand what I'm trying to do.Does anyone know if it's possible to set up a flight plan ONCE, that involves multiple take-offs/landings, and ATC changes for each leg???ThanksTim

There are a couple programs out there that mimic co-pilot call-outs, but none that "go all the way" so to speak.I have access to full a full set of Capt/FO call outs for a particular airline and I'd love to create an adventure that utilizes them. But unfortunately I'm no programmer.From a programming perspective, does FS make available the variables so that, say, when N1 rises a call out can be made. What about getting the FO to push buttons automatically as per his duties?Just wondering, because I think this is the one thing that FS is missing. It'd really be great on a 767 PIC or DF 737 or PSS Bus.Single pilot IFR in a 767... not exactly "as real as it gets".

I am doing a fresh formatting, partitioning and installation of XP on a new 80 G HD. I want to set up several partitions. In particular, I want to isolate the windows swap file on its own partition, separate from the rest of the OS.Can anyone suggest how I might instruct XP to put the swap file on drive "D" (a 5 GIG partition). First of all, let me say that I have absolutely no problem with anyone repainting any of my aircraft and making them available to others. In fact, I encourage it. That's why I make them, so other people can use them. But DON'T modify anything but the textures. I state this in my distribution requirements, but some people are ignoring it. They are uploading repaints of my aircraft with different and/or modified panels, air files, cfg files, etc. The reason for this is that if there's a problem with the plane, then people come to me with it and I can't support them. Yesterday I was in the screen shots forum looking at some shots taken with a payware md-80. it showed the aircraft with a covered airstair on it. I read in one of the replies that he didn't need to use FSSE. What program is it. And is it payware or freeware. and would someone actually respond to my message this time please?Grant Z.

I feel PSS did a great job with their update on their B747-400. My only problem with their update is that there is no visible landing lights from the cockpit. They did a good job with the night lite panel that's why I can't understand why they didn't fix the FS2000 landing light problem with their update. I tried to write this question on their form here at Avsim but they monitor their form and I guess screen posts that they don't feel like answering don't get posted. I hope someone from PSS reads this and addresses the landing lights issue or at least respond as to why this was not fixed in the update.

When planes land at certain airports such as KORD or KIND, they land but once they land, they dissappear...What's up with that???? It probably has been posted earlier,but I couldnt find it..My traffic is set to 95%..Is that It???? Please help!!!!!
