I've recently noticed all of my piston ac are emitting clouds of smoke.I've removed all smoke files from the effects folder except the basic "smoke" and still get smoke. Never saw a real aircraft put out much smoke..anyone know what else I can do? JamesJ

This is Spruce, a long time reader of this forum, but finally posting for the first time.I've been with flight sim for about seven years. Besides computers, I'm a high school teacher and Christmas Tree Farmer (thus the ingenious call name). I'm very appreciative of all the info I've gotten off this web site. People are knowlegdable and friendly and Avsim does a great job of maintaining it.Recently went with a gf3 ti500, which replaced the gf2400mx. The gf3 is a solid card. It's coupled with a P 1.8, 512 rdram, standard 17 inch monitor, running XP. Overall I'm pleased with performance. Most sliders are at 80% or better and my fps are usually around 23-25, except wit…

Does anyone know about a Hobbs meter that I can download, so I don't have to calculate it on aircraft that don't have one? I did see one here, but it's for FS98, and it looks a little complicated in terms of installation.All help is appreciated. :-)

I recently had Capt. Alain's MD-11 panel suggested to me for download. I found the site it was on, and downloaded it, but I can't read any of the writing on it! It was made for FS98, but it's the best MD-11 panel availible that I can find. Is there any way to make this panel readable? (I could't show the whole panel, the file was too large.)

I can't be the only one that is lost with the whole A1 aircraft issue. I really haven't paid much attention up to now. Thought I'd try the project A1 program. Now I have no A1 planes. I downloaded and ran the base installer, and then downloaded some plans. Only 2 out of the 10 I downloaded had an installer. I ran them, but still no aircraft. KATL is a ghost terminal.I guess the problem is that I don't fully understand where everything is supposed to go. What are the pathways and what is required for FS2002 to reconize the A1? What are the files being changed in FS2002?Do I use ttools? Anything else? Do I need to pray to the sim gods?I did not see a help file in the A1 dow…

Hi,I recently downloaded the Swiss Airports' Package which requires, among other things, the installation of the "Airport Textures 2.x" and the "ASD Textures 2.1".Unfortunately, neither of the above add-ons contain any READ-ME files. Therefore, I am not sure where to install the files and do not know if they are compatible with FS2002 and Windows XP.Any advice would be greatly appreciated.CheersTwister

I am having bizzare problem with VC lighting in Cessna 421. When I turn the lights on for the Cockpit, it stays on for about 2 seconds and then turns off by itself just in VC, if I switch to normal view of the panel the Panel lights are still on, but if I switch the view to VC it stays fora bout 2 sec and turn off. The other day I wrote a post regaurding my PC was attaining extremly high CPU and SYS temps well on Friday I WENT DOWN TO THE Ole PC Parts store and purchased two varible highspeed case fans and it help to rid my system of 10-15 degrees of temps, so I proceded to remove the side cover and got and extra -5dgrs.Still not happy plus the fact that Seattle has already had a couple of days in the low 90s I desired to have my system running as cool as I can get.This A.M. I ran down to my local Wally Mart stre and purchased a small 9inch VORNADO desktop fan and routed out a hole in the side of my PC desk and inserted the fan and now my CPU temp is 97dgrs and SYS temp is 85dgrs.La…

Hello all, I've finally been able to resume my adventures in overclocking, after determining that my RAM speed was set too high. Previously, I had been running my PC2700 RAM @ 166MHz (PC2700) and was unable to overclock any higher than 139MHz FSB/172MHz RAM even at the most conservative RAM settings. I decided to clock the RAM synchronously with the FSB, and the results are spectacular! 151MHz FSB with the most aggressive settings possible (2-2-2-5, 4-way Bank Interleave, 8QW Burst Length, 1T Command enabled). However, anything over 151MHz results in nothing being displayed on my monitor, which leads me to believe that my video card has reached its limits. I ran Siso…

Gang,Just got back from a short camping trip.....checked the U.S. Mail box and had a VERY pleasant surprise from MAAM!!I ordered the CD from MAAM for the R4D DC-3 just to be a 'nice guy', and even though I have purchased the original CD.....and properly paid my 'donation' last January for the FS2002 update. Reference FS2002 Boeing 737-400.1. How do I know how much fuel is in the center fuel tank, other thanby clicking on the toolbar "aircraft-fuel"? The fuel gauges on the dash are for the left and right fuel tanks only.2. What is the purpose of the overhead switch labled "left, off, right"? Is this to switch the fuel flow, and if yes, when should this be used?3. I noted that more fuel is drawn from the left and right tanks than the center tank. The left and right tanks therefore will become empty before the center tank. Can I draw fuel from the center tank to the left or right tank so that I can read the fuel amount on the dash gauge?Thank you.Stanner
