All of a sudden now, whenever I slew an aircraft (such as during pushback) and then turn slew off after reaching my desired position, the aircraft accelerates with take-off power... even if there's no power and the engines are not started !!!! Very strange! Anyone seen this and know what the problem might be?Thanks in advance...DougFS2002Dell 8200 with WinXP ProNVIDIA 64 MB GeForce 4

I've downloaded several A340-300's and I have a problem with allof them. It seems that no matter what the descent rate is, the A340does not want to slow down. Tonight I tried a descent below 10,000ftat 700fpm, engines idle. The aircraft just keeps gaining speed and Ialways have to use the speed brake to stay below 250kts. Is this trueto the A340 or just a bad .air file? I've also noticed that enginesat idle read an N1 of 40. Is this normal?Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Notice the heavy. He's not moving(Pai United). Has been cleared but doesnt move. Three GA behind it with one on the runway. Here comes the lear slams down at what looked to be 1500fpm and stops. ATC informs the lear to move off the runway asap. Of course he wont until the cessna moves. The plane I was waiting for was a 737 from Vancouver Canada (PAI West). Here it comes on Final but he has to go around because everything is blocked. Had to laugh. I wish I could decompile the AI stuff and rewrite it. Well, Im not really sure you want a crowded airport until both the AI and the ATC get a little smarter LOL.BobG

Anyone out there using Just Flight's 747-400 and 777-200 Professional add-on panels/aircraft?? If so, please write a quick review here, I'd greatly appreciate it! I am considering purchasing either/both of these program and am really interesting in hearing what current users have to say about it. I use FS2002 and one specific question I'd like answered is does it work fine during Multi-player? Thanks everyone,Justin E.

Hi, Ok, most of us have stood at an airport and seen aircraft take off in rain, the back spray of water off the engines and wheels look cool.Well, I have has an idea, I don't know if it will work but read on. The touchdown smoke effect texture in FS2002 could be modified to look more like spray, then when the aircraft's wheels come in contact with floor this spray texture could appear ( just like it does when you touch down) but ... the effect carries on like the aircraft is running over a wet runway. Then when the aircraft goes under a certain speed the effect goes off. (just like contrails disappear when you fly below 30'000 ft)It could be the same on takeoff, when th…

Hi all,I'm trying to figure out how I can make FS2002 more realistic. One problem I have with FS is that you don't really get a feeling for how large these planes are and it's too commonplace. When I got onto an A330 in real life, I was in awe. In real life, on the take-off roll, I have butterflies in my stomach. When I load up a 747 in FS2002, it looks nice, but it doesn't seem as enormously big as it is in real life (was on one of those also) I'm just trying to figure out how I can make it seem like a real plane, like I'm really flying a plane that big in FS. I have a real nice system, so i do have all features maxed out...Tim

After trying various procedures and tips to correct the ground textures bleeding through the taxiways and ramps at various FS2002 airports, I'd given up! Given up, that is, until I downloaded Page Cline's little bgl fix files. I've only been to KSPI (my old hometown) and KRNO (a new favorite place) but I've seen enough to convince me that at least one someone (Page) can fix the problem. Thanks again Page. R-

Hi there,I've just been reading an interesting thread on the iPilot.com forum debating the different methods of landing in a crosswind. I was wondering what the pilots (real and virtual) here consider to be the best method.I've always tried to keep the aircraft level, pointing into the wind until the flare when I use rudder to straighten up. (This is only in sims, having never landed a real aircraft :-))Iain Spowart,Scotland.Webmaster and photographer,Scottish Claymores 2002Cheerleaders Fan Sitehttp://www.claymorescheerleaders.com/media/avsim/2002-s.jpghttp://ClaymoresCheerleaders.com

Has anyone flown through the Royal Gorge in Colorado just outside of Canon City? If so - could you send me the coords for the bridge? In case anyone is wondering, the world's highest suspension bridge is over the Royal Gorge, 1053' above the Arkansas River. I hope that it has been included in MSFS2002. I was there (at the real bridge) last week and took at helicopter tour of the bridge and gorge - truly spectacular!Regards,FAL205

Recent email sums it up for the couple of you out there waiting for my 172 airfile:Hi Roger.I know you are probably buried, but could you email me a copy of the latest air file you are using for the 172? Thanks.Reply:Truth is, I'm not using any air file at the moment. I've just been too busy to even sim. I just tried to send you Ron Friemuth's 172P files and discovered that I can't restore the email archive they were in. There was a thread on Avsim about a week ago of people sending them to each other (he took them out of the library) you might look that up and contact one of those people. If I get these messages to show up or find a copy somewhere else, I'll send the…

Two words ......... GET IT!!!!!!!! Lots of fun! I see some folks are having a problem with installation. Real easy. When you load it out, she will install a scenery folder and texture folder in ADD-ON Scenery in the main FS2002 root file. Make a folder called OSKOSH and put those two folders in it, leaving it in the ADD-ON Scenery file. Then install as usual using the library. Neat stuff! The "old timer" hanger section is cool!Don

Hello,For some reason FS2002 keeps locking up when I'm flying with it. Strange thing is, that it's the only software on my pc that locks up. And when it locks, my entire computer locks up. Only a hard reset will bring it back.Doesn't matter what scenery I use. It appears to happen a lot more when using thirdparty aircraft, but it doesn't matter which one (Phoenix A319/320/321, Dreamfleet 737-400 or various freeware aircraft). These are my system specs:Athlon Classic 700 overclocked to 800MHzAsus K7V motherboard512MB PC133 SDRAM (Kingston)20Gb IBM harddriveCreative Annihilator Pro (GeForce256 with 32MB DDR)Windows 98SEFor the graphicscard, I've tried several driver versions…

Well it seems like the trend is clear enough: freeware is dying. Two years ago, you'd be hard-pressed to find a payware flightsim addon, but now it seems to be going the other way. More and more developers are switching, usually with less-than-wonderful results. So my question is, how much longer? When will the day come that planes are sold one-per-CD at the local EB? We should see something close buy the time FS2004 comes around. After all, look how much things have change since FS2000 was released. You know, it's really sad that our society places money on such a high pedestal. Flightsim is a hobby, not a profession. I say keep it that way.Adam Stanger
