Hi allThe stated cruise speed for the 747-400 is in excess of 500Kts. Is this Indicated or ground speed? My plane was overstressed trying to reach this speed at FL350. As I connot find the Pitot heat switch (Does it have one?) I was wondering if this is the problem and I am going a lot faster that indicated.Also is there a TO mode for the Autothrottle hidden somewhere?ThanksMartyn Carr

I am currently running a PIII 800, 512 Ram, with a Radeon 64MB DDR ViVo Card. I am also seeing a drastic reduction in frame rates as I add on more and better aircraft, panels, and scenery, especially at night in terminal areas. So the question: What's the best way to go with an upgrade? PIV or Athlon ? A GeForce 4 card? Both (Probably, but I don't want to go bankrupt doing this.) Advice from any of you who have gone this route is appreciated.Thanks,Bruce

As an almost instrument rated pilot, I really wanted to get the Airbus package b/c I heard it was so real. Well, not only is it real, it is so complex, that I am going to have to read the manual! Something I have not had to do on any airplane in FS before, add-ons included!The pedestal, FMC, and overhead is really nice. The virtual cockpit is nice too, although I wish the digital gauges were a little easier to read...but that criticism needs to be taken with a grain of salt, because I think that they are as good as any other out there right now. Is there a godd freeware viewer out there for the bmp format of those textures? The built in XP viewer will not show them.Alex

Hi,In my humble opinion, it would be great if one of our talented designers could create replacement textures for the default airport buildings (which are blurry and ugly as far as I can tell).Some available airport add-ons have beautiful building textures, why can't we borrow some of it and create new textures for ALL the airports in FS2002 ?Well, just my 2 cents...CheersTwister

I upgraded processors and motherboards today. Now my system is not recognizing my (original model) Sidewinder ForceFeedback joystick. I had the same problem when I upgraded a couple of years ago and was able get assistance from MS support, but the info isn't there now. I can't remember what I did. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, but that isn't working. Can anybody help. While I'm at it; My diagnostic shows this supposed 1.8 mghz Athlon processor is only running at 1.2. What's the deal. Did I get ripped-off? Thanks for the assistance.Bruce

The best way to view these clips is to copy the link and paste it into your url line in windows media player. They are both around 7 mb and if your on a dial up right clicking and saving as is another way to view. A little real world question I always wanted answered.Is it really possible to fly with a small Cessna into a huge airport with a takeoff every 3 minutes like Frankfurt.R u also allowed to do this under VFR?Thx fr any professinal answers.Alex

Hi all, can anybody help me with this?When using the POSKY Gmax 767s as ai planes, they crash shortly before they reach the runway.I tried to replace the .air file with the POSKY A330 file and the approach was fine but the plane sank into the runway on touchdown.Does anybody know which .air file I can use? Or are there any modifications to be made with the aircraft.cfg file? The A320s from Mike Stone used to have the same crash-on-approach problem before I modified their aircraft.cfg with the update from Unal Naiboglu.Many thanks in advanceAl330

I've successfully used USB yoke and pedals from CH for some time. As of late, however, all aircraft seem to be veering right and my rudder is snapping back to center (or thereabouts!) from various positions of trim. In other words, I end up doing a tap dance to keep myself in a straight line on the runway.I have tried RESET TO DEFAULT, played with the SENSITIVITIES (null zone) etc. and tried recalibrating both units several times, all to no avail. In another thread (on another subject) someone mentioned the possibility of dismantling the hardware and cleaning the potentiometers. Anyone else do this, or NEED to do this? Or might my problem be elsewhere? Any views app…

ok...tell me if i have this right...AutoGenius basically aligns the default AutoGen scenery. Houses and trees now line up correctly on streets and such. i know that LandClass changes the look of the land by assigning different/correct textures to the scenery.here's my question....if i purchase some of the payware LandCLass, should i remove the AutoGenius? will AutoGenius no longer line up correctly using addon LandClass? ...or is it worth it to just leave the AutoGenius files in? i've actually just installed AutoGenius the other day and have yet to really experience its benefits. i'm wondering if i should get the LandClass, or fly around with just AutoGenius for aw…

By way of thanks to Dave having just flown his Constellation - forgive please my wish to recommend you get both the Connie and the Stratocruiser. Hi all!Just tried multiplayer for the first time yesterday. No matter what options I used in multiplayer setup, I couldn't see the other person's prop turn. It was as if his engine was off.Is this the way it is supposed to be or am I missing something?(Interesting though to watch a plane accelerate and then take off without the prop moving)Brgds, Frederick

Although I'm always curious as to why people often post to trumpet an addition that is obvious to us all in the Avsim library, occasionally little gems appear in other places that get missed by many, I think. A FS2002 Fiat CMASA RS 14 Prototype (WWII floatplane) was posted at www.fsfreeware.com a couple of days back (6/22) and has still only had 30 downloads. Up until now, the A/P on all my aircraft has worked fine -- I have used itto steer a course for me , track a nav station, keep altitude, come down anILS glideslope for landing.BUT -- yesterday , I got vectored to a ILS/BC runway -- so I thought --OK,just dial in the backcourse, select backcourse, turn off the altitude hold ,give it a bit of down trim and visually descend while holding the backcoursedirection using the A/P. Easy!!UH -UH!!!! No can do!! Aircraft will not descend!!! Pushing the stickforward only causes the trim wheel to go crazy and try to take me back tothe altitude dialed into the A/P.
