Hey, I've seen all these posts about some new Oshkosh scenery, but have failed to find any. I've checked the AVSIM library, Flightsim.com, and even the dreaded FSPl****.com, but to no avail. Does anyone know where one might find this scenery? Muchos gracias amigos...

For those interested over at the diecast aircraft forum I posed a question as to whether or not the organizers of the Airliners International 2002 in Houston were able to successfully get a tour of the CO Airlines flight simulator. I thought I knew how to use the A/P - until I started to get involved with Backcourses on non-GS runways. Then I found that I could not get the aircraft to descend!!THis is what it is all about . You can fly completely by hand or completely by A/P -- but you cannot mix the 2 together (without implementing the "fix" that has been offered to me. So thi means that if you choose to turn the A/P on and only select 1 function of it (say Nav) then you cannot use the manual controls to alter any other function of the aircraft like altitude, heading, etc.So now that I know this , I can handle it without having to implement the fix -- it's either ALL by hand or ALL by A/P

This is something I'm still not clear on. After a plane takes off, do the pilots pretty much engage the autopilot right away and then fly it using the AP controls? And when they land, do they let the autopilot bring the plane down to a few hundred feet and then land it manually?

Searched through the archives, but couldn't find an answer. I've got three monitors I want to hook up to my computer. I'd like the normal view, an overhead panel view and a pedestal/fmc view. I hooked up one monitor to a Banshee 3Dfx card, it's working great, but with one problem. When I go to full screen view in FS2K2 (with no title bar or start menu), I can't move my mouse over to the other monitor. I can see the pedestal and fmc in undocked windows, just can't get to them. On several downloaded aircraft, the tires sink partwayinto the runway,giving the appearance of low tire pressure. Is there any way to correct this perhaps ina CFG file. I have tried things like the CG heightin the aircraft.CFG file but with no success.Frank

OK! I fixed the Dirt Balls!!!Thanks to the suggestion from Lizardo, I went on a Dirt Ballhunt in the Effects Folder.First try, I opened the "fx_tchdrt.fx" file in notepad. Started skimming down the file and found the following entry:(Properties)Cockpit=1VirtualCockpit=1Spot=1Tower=1Map=1I changed "Spot=1" to "Spot=0" and restartedthe sim. Bingo, no Dirt Balls.I went back and reset the '0' to '1', reloaded the sim andthe Dirt Balls did not return!Only problem is, I do not know what caused this to happenin the first place!!Hope this will be helpfull to someone else in the future :-)regards,

Hi folks.I realize that the Reality XP avionics are very sophisticated, and that the (excellent-looking) GoFlight hardware is simpler in nature. I'm curious if anyone is using both together, and if so what your experiences have been.I do understand that the GoFlight boxes couldn't possibly be expected to help use all features of Reality XP components... I'm more looking to see if they're usable together AT ALL since I'm interested in both add-ons.Thanks for any opinions and experiences you can share.--Tony

G'day my friends!I have no doubt that this has been covered before, but, for the sake of new arrivals, and people like me who suffer severe cases of "mentalpause," where else can one download scenery files?I, myself, grab everything I can lay my hands on for North America. It has almost become an obsession (kind of like this forum ;) ).One of these days, when I get my list of projects thinned down some more, I'd like to learn how to do scenery. The first thing I'd do is remake my town. I live in the country but can see the lights of the county airport from my home at night. I hate taking off from there in FS and seeing the default city. Doesn't look ANYTHING like Harrison…

Hello all...Heres a new one on me...See attached picsThis just started happening and is driving me nuts! All my aircraft show the little touchdown dirt balls even after they have left the tarnac and the wheels have been retracted! In fact, as soon as I fire up the sim, the show up on the ground under the wheels as if the aircraft were moving.Any idea what is causing this?Regards,

Hello all, I have a small question about external views...I realize that you can move around with the hat switch on the joystick or using ctrl+enter n such...My question is can you change the position of the view, Like zooming in on just the nose. When I look in the view opitions theres a point there...I was just wondering if you can change that point. Did a flight this morning from PANC to PADQ (Kodiak) in a 767-300. Using real weather, when I arrived near PADQ (Kodiak), ATC vectored me for a visual approach to runway 07. At the time, wind was 080 at 11 knots, and had solid overcast at 3000ft and above. An impossible approach in a Jet. It took 6 tries to land this baby on runway 07. I had two nose gear collapses, two runway overshoots into the water. A mountain right on the end of runway 07, how in real life can you land on this runway?What a challenge.... I have tried several trees like Gerrish's and others but I feel that best ones so far are the one in the Lago's FSSE, Naji's bush sceneries and Ed Truthan's "conifers" coming a very close second. I am just talking about the typical trees you see in a flat region. You know, those that look a like dogwoods. The FSSE trees have more details than though and look more realistic vs the Gerrish trees. I have installed the 1024x1024 and so far I am not pleased with them. Julian

Mike,I was thrilled to see your B1900, as it's one of only three types of planes that grace our small local airport (KITH). I've got AI flights coming and going right on schedule! I'd love to actually fly it but I am a faithful virtual cockpit user now that I have Tracker IR and a home cockpit. Would there be anyway to use the stock KingAir's VC view with your model? THe King Air cockpit is virtually identical to the B1900, at least in my eyes. Thanks for at least considering it!David

Hello all,I just downloaded and installed as per instructions the EAA Oshkosh scenery. I have no idea where the files were downloaded except into fs2002. I have the saved flights that were part of this package, but the airport and surrounding area is still default. I don't see anything that was shown on the EAA page. I even started my flight on July 23rd which is the opening day and still only see default Oshkosh.Just wondering if anyone else has d/l this scenery and has had any better luck?Thanks.Mike
