I went out today and had a look a local aviation school.... American Flyers (www.americanflyers.net). I was curious if anyone had any has had any experience with them? What others can anyone recommend for someone just starting out?Thanks......

Anyone else having trouble downloading from Lago's ftp site for the Northern Italy TerraMesh? I keep getting the dreaded errors from IE6 "page cannot be displayed" when clicking on the ftp hyperlink or "Login denied" or "server returned extended information" when right clicking to "save as". Got the Swiss mesh without problem.RG

I know what the framerate slider does -- it gives me NO MORE frames than what I have asked for and puts any extra energy into generating scenery.BUT -- what is it about the Sim that sometimes you can't get the frame rates that you ask for - it has to be the scenery at certain places surely? - is there any way we can say to the computer --don't give me any scenery until you can give me a frame rate of (say)15. HIBeen experimenting today trying to get the default Jet Ranger flying as an AI Heli.By using both the De Havilland Dash 8-100 aircraft.cfg & Model.cfg It will taxi /take-off and land on a conventional runway.THE BIG Question IS Has Any One Got A Heli To Land & Take Of With Out Using The Runway ?Any feed back on the best AI cfg files to use or any other info would be most useful.All The BestDave

I was wondering how come my 80Gb HDD was suddenly feeling rather full, so I checked my FS2002 folder...10.3Gb. Whoa. I don't have anything else on my drive that takes up that much space. I think I'm downloading way too much :) What about you folks? How large are your installs?

I do not exactly understand how does the money thing works.OK, so I had a flight and there it was:INCOME $52.728PILOT -$7.909PAX -$5.272BALANCE $39.547 (OK that's easy INCOME - PILOT - PAX = BALANCE)FOR MAINTNANCE(20%) $7.909 (BALANCE x 20% = FOR MAINTNANCE)Now, I went to see how much money was in my account and it said $22.909 where did it come form?... That is the part I don't understand where did it get this number from?PS. This was my first flight with FSMaintnance so there are no other trips before that or anything, started from sratch. It was Boeing767-300ER flight from St. Louis - Toronto about 2hrs or so, not sure and the level was BEGGINER.Thanks

Hello, I have the following two questions: 1) A couple of the helo's I downloaded seem to have unlimited fuel (I have the unlimited fuel checkbox unchecked). One chopper is the Hughes 500 made for FS2K2, the other is the Blackhawk made for FS2000. I download a S76 and a OH58 both for FS2000 and they both burn fuel. Does anyone know if there is a special way to make helicopters burn fuel (if they are not doing so). 2) Is there a workaround for the gear issue with choppers where you have to pause the sim prior to extending or retracting the gear? Any info would be appreciated thanks! Robert

Alright, I've successfully got dual monitors running, my main 19" Trin on a Radeon 32MB (AGP), the second 17" on a Rage 128 16MB (PCI). Now, the only problem I'm having is shifting the main Fs2002 program over to the MAIN video card (Radeon). Its by default running on the 16MB card, which means that I cant shift the terrain window over to the main board without undocking the window. If I undock the window and switch it to the Radeon it screeches to a halt. Understandably so. I'd like to run the gauges/panels on the Rage128 and the terrain/simulation on the Radeon. Everything's properly setup in windows, i just need Fs2002 to run on monitor 1 instead of monitor 2.Any help …

I flew a short flight Newark to Washington-Dulles & when I landed, this happened. My gear vanished into the runway. This is a FS2000 model, but i was using FS2002. Project Freeware 737-300. Never had problems before.

if you dont have one, go get one!talk about adding realisim, this will do it.i picked up a creative inspire 5.1 for $100 at wally world and it was well spent.now i need to upgrade my gf2 mx400 to a ti card, or maybe ill wait for the 256mb cards coming out this summer!Tracy

Hi :), After flying the beautifully done FFG Learjets..I felt I needed a panel to do it justice. I've been looking at a few flightsim sites but have not been able to find a nice Learjet panel for FS2002. I have the alternate 45ja panel..but I get errors when I try to "alias" it to another jet.
