Since installing the latest Geforce video drivers , I am getting "strange" colours appearing on my screen after I switch between view modes. This is being caused by the red text that appears at the top right hand side of the screen which says things like Virtual mode, Normal mode, etc"Any ideas how to turn this text off? Thanks Barry

IF we truly lived in the FS2002 world.....We would need four wheel drives to drive along the major highways (with no center lines) to get over hills and mountains. We would all live in large block houses. We would only see 4 or 5 kinds of trees. What else?

Hi all, KLM started to fly to Batavia in 1924 in a Fokker F7, H-NACC, 'Pelikaan'.In 1934 they flew the first time to Batavia in a DC2, the Uiver, in the London Melbourne race.Regular flights started in 1935, june 12th, in the DC2 PH-AKK 'Koetilang'On the webpage below you can now download the flightplans, to refly this airroute from the 30-s of last century. For this ofcourse you need the Douglas DC2 package, also available for download there. There are some screenshots in the screenshot forum http://ftp.avsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboa...rum=DCForumID47 , and some more on the site, look under the Amsterdam-Batavia link on the top of the homepage.http://www.avsim.com/hangar…

Hi all,If you possess a top notch GeForce4 graphics card together with a fast processor you will be amazed at the improvement in the quality of the textures in FS2002 by changing to the Omega nVidia drivers available here: -www.omegacorner.com/Be aware that these drivers are slower (2-3 fps on my Athlon 2000 / Ti4600) than standard nVidia drivers but the improvement in image quality more than makes up for this. The author recommended you set AGP Aperture to 128Mb and although this introduces a few stutters they are not that intrusive.Cheers,

G'Day!Been looking over some older aircraft and many of these have their texture files shown in an "AF" format. How do I convert these to something I can view and work with?Regards,Heather

First off, This plane rocks! I love it, great job on the team for putting it together and offering it for us to download and fly.Now a question related to flying it in multi-player sessions. We tried last night with three of us flying the Dash 7 and it kept kicking us all out of the multiplayer session. I've had an occasional problem before with the "Host leaving the session" message you get sometimes, but this happened every 3 minutes to us. We then changed planes and everything was fine.Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a fix for this? I love this plane and so do my online flying counterparts, but we are just unable to fly it curretnly in a multiplayer se…

Hi Heather,A very quick question if I may. I have downloaded the Murphys War re-paint for the outstanding Duck, well done again to you all the duck team. There is no readme file so I did not really understand what to do with it after it was unzipped. I copied it to the Duck folder within aircraft/FS2002, where I saw the other texture folders. However when I come to the aircraft selection screen in FS2002 I can not find any version of the Duck with the Murphy War colours, all the other textures are still there, but not Murphy War.Have I lost the plot here?, advice please, thank you again for a great aircraft.RegardsPeter.

I don't know if anyone has ever seen this but after flying the new 737 I found that if the airplane ventures slightly over the maximum speed of a given altitude, you'll find yourself in an uncontrollable situation. I don't know if you can call this a stall or what but the plane's speed, vertical angle and/or horizontal angle can not be controlled. I understand this may be a realism feature but when your flying at 32,000ft and hit a wind gust or something, you and your passengers can kiss their lives goodbye. If the wind gust pushes the plane over 480 knots your in a situation you can't recover from.

Last night I was enjoying the miserable IFR conditions of my local airport (KITH) by practicing instrument approaches in the C421 Golden Eagle. Naturally I was surprised to stop by my flying club this morning and find one laying in the grass by the runway! Glad to see no one got hurt and I'm happy to say I wasn't involved! It would be cool if FS could simulate the decreased traction of a wet runway though.Davidhttp://www.ithacajournal.com/news/stories/...ries/91810.html

My system: Athlon Tbird 1 gig.Ram: 500MEG SDRAM.VIDEO CARD: GeForce 11 PRO 64 meg RAM.Monitor: Viewsonic P810 4.What would you reccommend for a NEW VIDEO CARD?Would there be enough performance improvement to justify the expense? What are the latest drivers that would give me some improvement:Thanks.Jim Alcorn

I bought the 3D glasses when they first came out but somehow never quite got them optimized. My monitor always seemed to dark, the resolution a little too murky and the strobe effect was stronger than I thought it should be. I never returned them because I still know in my heart that if I called the E-dimension tech people they would probably correct my problems. Later on I bought their TrackIR and now I consider that to be absolutely indespensible.I called their tech department the other day and was surprised to hear that the glasses tend to get a greater response from users than the TrackIR. I saw the glasses as a novelty but do some of you use them everytime you boot u…

Im a major fan of both of these airbeese. However, having flown them both quite a lot, (using PSS panel for both.) Can anyone advisewhy the PA A320 has 4 fuel tanks, but the PSS A320 has 3? Same airplane theoretically (comparing CFM engined versions at least.)Seems one of these would be incorrectly modelled? I discovered this when using the fuel calculation tools from PSS.Eric

Has anyone had success with the Ez Config for Reality XP's avionics. All of my defaut panels work fine, but none of the others. I just get a little blank rectangle where the GPS/Radio short cut would be. Am I missing something? Thanks,Scott

I flew an approach with a DC9-30, originally designed for FS2000, and forgot to retract the speedbreaks. This resulted in a rapid loss of airspeed on final. As I was not aware of the activated speedbreakes I was anxiously watching the speedo going down 110...106...105...103, always awaiting the stall warning, but nothing happened!Touchdown was below 103, full flaps, activated spoilers, approx. 25 - 30 % fuel.I also once made a landing with an ad-on 737-400 (spoilers retracted) at aboust 104 kts IAS. My question: is this realistic? Regards,Wolfgang

Dennis ?? has over 10,000 instrument approach plates (USA only, I believe) on line at www.myairplane.com searchable by state and airport.Art.

Anybody had success integrating these two together? I am having issues with the airfile, I believe. I have resolved all but 1 problem: I have no elevator trim when these two are combined. My trim wheel just "twitches" up and down. I must have missed something in the AIRCRAFT.CFG, but I can't see what - possibly an .AIR file issue perhaps.Anyway, if anyone has jumped this hurdle successfully...please let me know what you've done. Thanks,J

Another post pointed us towards this image http://www.airliners.net/open.file/272199/L/A terrific photo - but it led me to thinking. During my time in the Australian Navy (both in surface ships and submarines) , bridge lighting was RED. In fact, at periscope depth, a submarine boat is blacked out completely and any instrument lights are red with a VERY low intensity. This is because night vision at sea is absolutely essential!!So I am wondering why these aircraft cockpits are so brightly lit -- obviously you don't need the degree of night vision in the air as you do at sea -- but I could imagine (not being a pilot myself) that low flying GA aircraft would need good nigh…

I'm hoping someone can help me with an odd phenomenon: At some airports, the centerlines on the taxiways are severely out of scale (see images below from Missoula Montana (KMSO) and Culpeper, VA (KCJR). I've also seen this at other smaller airports.Unfortunately, I don't know when this started, and I have a lot of add-ons installed, so it's hard to trace the offending file(s). Anyone got a clue? In Fs2002 we currently have:CockpitVirtual cockpitTowerSpot .... views. Now MS are basing all their a/c in the future on GMAX, as these a/c are now coming out with virtual cockpits and virtual cabins, it seems silly not to include another virtual view e.g. virtual view 2.For example, one virtual view - inside the cockpit, and then you can cycle through onto another virtual view in the cabin or where ever one wants to put it.Just seems like common sense to me instead of moving constantly back and forth inside the fuselage to get to different views. Will

Hi Simmers,I have created an alternative/update set of textures for the B707 AA textures I recently released for Lou's aircraft.I have toned down the blue effect and made it much closer to a grey metal effect with some enhanced details on the fuselage.http://www.gjsmith.com/images/B707-AA-grey-3.jpghttp://www.gjsmith.com/images/B707-AA-grey-1.jpgShe is available at http:/www.gjsmith.com/textures/b707.htmAnd of course over 250 other free textures available at:http://www.gjsmith.com/textures/by-type.htm Happy SimmingGarry J. Hello All,I have seen a couple of instances where some folks have AI traffic around them when they are in a multiplayer mode and was curious if there was a known configuration adjustment that would allow this to happen. When I connect to a multiplayer session all my traffic disappears. Is it just me ? :0)Thanks for all responsesDave
