I love the new Chief, you sure are busy pumping out acft! I just was wondering and I know you hate requests and like doing what you want to do. But I fell in love with your C-7 with Radials and was wondering how about a good B-25 Mitchell with guns and the bombadier station? I have been looking for a good freeware B-25, ones available right now just do not look right.

I am just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience that I have regarding the T&L setting in both CFS2 and FS2002. I have found on two different computers, both using Geforce 4 cards, that enabling T&L actually reduces the frame rate rather than increases the frame rate. I find this quite interesting and I can't help wondering whether those T&L settings in both these sims actually directly control the onboard GPU T&L engine, or they are something else to do with the proprietary graphics rendering engine itself.I set up a few different scenarios of an aircraft sitting on the runway at some "detailed" airport and noted my observations. All the gr…

I'm kinda new to simming. Bought FS02 right when it came out and have gotten pretty good at flying and landing the big jets (default and freeware). I was thinking about buying some payware - either the PSS Airbus series or the Dreamfleet 737.Are they worth it? I don't mind a challange and want something new, but I don't ever fly on-line and usually just use the default flight planner so I don't mess around with complicated navigation.Should I take the plunge (and if so what program) or should I keep my money in my pocket and stick to what I'm doing?

when people talk about the flight characteristics of aircraft like 707s, 727s, 737s,747s, etc , etc, etc. Particularly when that talk involves statements like "unrealistic, poor, etc".Just how many airliner Captains with the requisite experience to make such judgements do we have in this forum ? With the excellent B727 panel being released recently, I'm wondering if there's any other way to navigate other then manually tuning the VOR receievers and OBS.?Did any of these aircraft ever do a mainland-Hawaii revenue trip? I recall that Ansett, back in the early '80's, bought some "advanced" B727ER's for trans-Tasman oceanic trips, so I'm guessing that at least an INS system was on-board, if not an FMC of some type. Would this capability be later perhaps than the vintage modelled for FS (and very well done, I may add).Moving away from reality, has anyone been able to slave the B727 to an FS flight plan (GPS, etc.)?Thanks,Bruce.

I've searched the archives and can't find anyone yet who has the Radeon 9700. I read that Timber had it and was having problems with lockups. I read one other person who had problems installing updated drivers. I want to get this card, but would like to know how it performs in FS2002.Someone out there must have one in use by now. Anyone out there have some feedback you'd like to share?Sincerely,Hans Groenewold

Hi folks,i've been flying this "thing" since FS5 and i have to tell that most of my landings are fairly good. The only step i need to improve is the descent once glideslope matched: in other words, how do i smooth this descent and avoid the AC to change her peak up and down from time to time? When planning a flight i usually fill the AC tanks with the correct amount of fuel and so before landing aircraft is never too loud. Thanks in avdance for any advicecheersLuigi ;-)

Has anyone tried the Airports Chart Viewer v2.5? (airchv25.zip here at Avsim)I like it a lot but can't print the charts on my HP DeskJet 895CSe printer. When I try to print a chart it minimizes the program and gives me a blank page followed by another blank page with the Airport Chart Viewer v2.5 and the airport name printed in the top left hand corner of the second page. I have tried different settings of the zoom feature up to 48x, which Manuel, the author, suggested. I am using the program out of FS2002, which he said was OK to do. Thanks, regards, Bob.

I've been flightsimming for years now but I've started to take real flying lessons and im now trying to make the flightsimming experience more realistic. Things are fine except for the weather. I can download general weather but that doesn't out things in much detail, like the barometer. Local weather works good but it only extends about 10 miles from the airport so that is useless for an actual. Is there any way to get the weather for a large space that includes the barometer? I don't even care if its the real weather, just something that makes something that would be realistic. I'm not sure if there are any programs that could do that but if there are please let me kno…

I dunno if anyone can answer this question, but it's been bugging me for a while...I had a pretty old slow system, and as many other people discovered that if I drop the AGP texturing down to 16MB in the BIOS I get much better performance (ie with AGP texturing high I get short pauses whenever new textures are loaded in)...I just bought a powerhouse and AGP is at 64 MB by default (as on most new mobos), and same thing again, I'll have to change it in the BIOS to get rid of pauses. BTW, this is not only FS2002, this is practically all my games...Bottomline, keep AGP texture size small... (I came to that conclusion 2 years ago, and it has been reconfirmed even with a modern…

During this afternoon, I imported and tried to open up the great 744 and 777 fuelplanners from Rob Van Leest and David Ebeling respectively in the MS Works Spreadsheet that comes with MS Works Suite 2002. I'd used them in FS2000 and also FS2002 under Windows 98 on my old P3.I got a stream of interminable error messages from MS Works indicating that almost nothing was compatible between MS Works Spreadsheet and MS Excel which is the format these documents were originally in. Initially I was hopeful that I could convert from EXCEL to MS Works but MS Works has a lot of limitations in this regard.Has anybody been able to use these fuel planners in MS Works under Windows XP?…

Hi AllI did a search in the File Library under FS2002Aircraft for a Piper Archer but all I got was 3 pages of skins, mostly for the Dreamfleet Piper Archer II. Don't know why these were in the aircraft section, and not under repaints. Anyway, I was just looking for a Piper Archer to download and couldn't find one. Can anyone help?ThanksJason

  24. With the all the critics we read here on FS airplane models, I was thinking that FS2002 is first and foremost a FLIGHT simulator. Poeple expect the outside view of the plane to look as good as any technical illustration or scale model. Now I do look over a downloaded FS plane very well when I first get it and try it out. I love a realistic looking model and admire the craftsmanship and art work that go into these. I also like to analyze my landings from the outside by using replay to see how I can improve. However, once I start an actual flight, things can get very busy with doing navigation, atc and all that goes with flying a plane. I would have to say I probably spend o…

Where do I ask for repaint requests? I know not to email the Dash-7 team and I can't paint. :-( Would anyone have the time and be willing to paint this one;http://www.airlinerphotos.com/mesquita/vp_fbq.jpghttp://www.antarctica.ac.uk/Living_and_Wor...-7_10003920.jpghttp://members.tripod.co.uk/Sarnia/VP-FBQ.jpgI saw her sister "Twotter" at Gurnsey this summer, she'd be great for exploring (maybe not antarctica though) and the paints quite unique! Thanks/Regards,
