Hey Gang!I currently run FS2002 in Windows ME and I hate this piece of crap operating system - it's too unstable. I am thinking of moving my two computers at home to Windows XP but I am a little skeptical considering what I have and whether XP will run it. I need some input please. Hi, Can you help me with this dilemma. For the sake of realism I would like to start my flights with the engine off etc. so I use a shutdown saved flight. But this means I must create a flight plan from that point not from the startup menu. However, when I do so my plane is always moved in many cases to the active runway or one of the available ones. I know that I can select the GA location but 1) that is not always an option at all airports and 2)that menu is only in the Create a Flight Menu Selection which I do not want to be in since then I will start with engine running etc. I tried unsuccessfully to outwit this thing by creating a flight plan with my next severa…

Is there a way to reflect static & dynamic stability in a FS2002 aircraft? That is, of course, the ability of a plane to right itself when letting go of the controls.

Howdy all,I took the 727 for a flight last night from Dallas to Atlanta. Sorry, I don't know the name of the panel designer, but it's the one that was made especially for MS's 727 - the one with the 10 numbered buttons for ATC and the realistic autopilot. Everything was going fine, I had climbed to cruise altitude and set the AP to hold. I was in a bit of hurry so I accelerated time to 8x for a while. Then turned the AP off and followed ATC instructions to descend. About the time I was told to turn to intercept the ILS the plane started to bank to the left like it was on AP. This is so cool. The post about the IFDG 757 vc inspired this. If you go into the aircraft.cfg file and scroll down to views, then replace the 49.417651 with 10.417651, you'll have a great wing view when you look at your 3/4 rear. With other Project Freeware 737 models the numbers would probably vary. Sorry if this is old news but it takes me a while.....Best regards,Todd

Just went thru the interesting posts about FS realism.There were several mentions about performance charts. Right on the money.Only problem is: Reading and understanding these charts is a subject all its own. Today a G-4 type rated pilot must go thru 3 weeks (I think) of ground school/simulator time to advance to the G-5, simply because of the difference in cockpit displays, navigation and a/c systems. And it is hard to see the outward difference in the two aircraft.I have found some sim models that appear to be fairly accurate and of course some that don't even come close, 350 kts one minute after takeoff and 300 kts at flight idle and level flight is surely not real…

Can someone point me in the right direction for getting airplane regisrtations. I want have little realier feel flying when i check out whos flying around me. Man thats lot airplanes to change registrations!

After an embarrassingly long time since it was finished, I have now finally got around to uploading the BAC 1-11 panel. It will appear in the AVSIM and Flightsim libraries shortly.Installation is by simple exe file and includes an example of the Project Freeware BAC 1-11. Yeah, well, since this seems to be as recurring a theme here now as 'fuzzy textures' used to be, my experience is that although it may seem faster at first, you're really kidding yourself. Check the available resolutions inside Fs2002 display options and you will find you have lost some after disabling AGP. I wonder if this is only an advantage for those people who have not got fast-writes working properly. Otherwise, the card will always prioritise its on-board memory anyway, so what's the point, compardrey? All from me Georgethetee

Hi Fellow Flight Simmers!I have been into flight sims for many a year and have been monitoring this forum for a while. I have decided to get more active within the threads and so thought a formal introduction was in order. I live in Scotland right next to Edinburgh Airport and enjoy flying the heavies (PSS Airbus, DF737 & 767PIC) as well as GA (DF Archer & Cardinal). I am hoping to get into Scenery Design pretty soon as I think Scotland has been largely forgotten by senery developers. My first project is going to be Grangemouth Oil Refinery, Watch this space. I just downloaded the new 737-200 from yeodesigns and all i can say is WOW. Its magnificent.I shouldnt have waited so long, but i got tied up with posky's RJ as im sure many of you have. Anways, my question is, are there any plans around to do an Air Canada repaint on it? Or even better, the new Air Canada Zip colors? Seeing as we see the 37 in canada alot from westjet and Air Canada, id like to see the paints. Or even, as a challenge, the old Canadian Airlines color scheme would probably look great on it too!Just a thought,Cheers,Kris

Hey Gang!The new Milano / Malpensa LIMC airport scenery is superb! The only problem is that the airport comes equipped with airplanes (ugly looking static planes). These planes are occupying parking spaces that my real AI aircraft could otherwise use and probably at a lower cost in the FPS dept. Can anyone enlighten me as to which .bgl file I need to delete to get rid of these planes? If I cannot do this, I need to de-instal this scenery.Thanks in advance!Sincerely,Dennis D. Mullert

G'day everyone!I have been doing some tinkering with a Grumman Widgeon and utilized the weathering effects from a repaint Mr. Richardson had done with a U.S. Navy version. Although my end results bear no resemblance to his, the weathered effect was still his and I would like to get in touch with him to get his blessing on an upload.I have tried his former email addy and that of the online squadron he had hosted, both with no luck. Hi guys,I just read the Voicepack readme to understand how to build new voicepacks.The readme tells me to record the wave with a program which can add some background noise to make it as real as possible. Anyone,I have tried their support forum and have recieved no reply!Problem:I am unbale to get the EZ Config program to work with my panels(non default). The program loads and I can go throught the process, but when I load the aircraft, boom, icon or GPS stack. I does however leave a black square (blank space) in the middle of the bottom of the panel. It looks like it is trying to show the GPS/Radio icon but doesn't function. I have also had no success using the key shortcuts to open either one. Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions. I have never tried it, but is it possible to fly to the North or South poles in FS2002, or to fly polar routes? Is there Scenery at Antartica? Never tried it, would be interested if anyone has.

Hi,does anybody know how to create a flight plan with different cruising altitutes, e. g. flying from VOR 1 to VOR 2 at 12000, than climbing and continuouing to VOR 3 at 16000. I use FSNavigator 4.51 and there is an option to manually set altitutes, but it seems not to get it working like described above.Many thanks for any suggestion, Thomas.
