Just wondering how people feel about this:How many of you try to keep your flight simming as realistic as possible by excluding aircraft or liveries that do not exist currently in real world operations? I see a lot of unrealistic repaints appearing which would lead me to believe that we still have a desire to keep a bit of fantasy in all of this!I am divided on the issue... I like the realism but I also am attracted to some of the unrealistic combinations out there. I still think thye former Canadian Airlines Canada Goose Tail livery is one of the best ones I have ever seen. Air Canada should have adopted it for the entire AC fleet!John-PaulToronto

Hi All.I am new on the forum,and have not read all postings yet. Got through the first 100 or so.My problem is that when i start a flight, i want to change the date and time. But when i change to MAY OR june and day, my FS2002 constabtly crashes, and asK me to send report to MS.I have tried using both system and flight time.I use 24Hr time (Europeean system)Windos XP,Athlon XP1700,762MB DRRam,aSUS gFORCE 4400Norvald Olsvold

Not sure what I've done (other than upgrade my video card to a Ti4200 and install the XP upgrade), but I've suddenly got two new glitches I've never had before since day 1 with FS2002.1) In full screen mode, ALT pauses the game but no longer brings up the display menu?? I've searched for it at the top, behind, and wherever, and can't find how to bring the menu up......2) This is really strange....My sound is fine, except backwards in FS2002. When I pan right, I hear more sound out of my left speaker. When playing radio/cds on my computer, right and left corresponds to my amplifier controls correctly.Any suggestions appreciated, especially with the hidden menu. Steve J…

From WINXPNEWS:Ouch! There's a major security flaw in the Windows XP Help Center that allows just about anybody to delete files on your computer. All you have to do is open a Web page or an email that has the simple to create code in it and BAM! No more files. This is a real baddie! Greetings, simmersBeing a modeller of plastic aircraft kits from the time ofmy tender youth, I seem to approach flight simming from thisearlier viewpoint.I fly all of the default CFS2 aircraft (and add-ons) in thecivilian world of FS2002, as if they had been restored byenthusiasts, and find it to be a lot of fun :DI usually fly the GA aircraft with VC's anyway, so the old warbirds just add that much more variety...I suspect I am not alone in this pastime? Hi guy's, I wanted to know what i should set my Monitior Refresh rate at?? I read some threads that some guy's say to set it at Optimal, or 85, or even at 100?? I have a Dell 8200 P4,1.7Ghz machine, and i never changed this setting before on my system, but i know it is set at Optimal in the menu?, And i can set it at 100 or 85, what should i do? I tried to change it, but got a message that "it might damage my Monitor" or it might not run properly at a setting other that what it is set at which is "Optimal"?? I want to Improve FS Some or test it to see if it helps my FPS, but I cancled the setting because i got scared of that message! So can someone give me some advice on …

Between the 4200, 4400, and 4600 is there really that big of a difference to warrant getting a 4600?? I only really play fsim on the computer as well as NHL sometimes. I have a Geforce 2 Ultra now so its time for an upgrade!!Thanks,Chris

1. How do I get the MS2002 GPS working in the DASH 8 cockpit.2. Also if anyone knows the correct speed and flap setting for a light landing on a long runway, I would be greatfull as I can,t get the nose up at 120 knots and flaps 35 ,If I go any slower I lose control.PS This is now my official favorute Small Aircraft of all time. I've just downloaded the BWIA repaints for Mike Stones L1011, and I've entered them into the aircraft.cfg, but when I select them in FS, they show with no textures. My texture folders are BWIA old and BWIA new, and this is indicated in the .cfg. What am I doing wrong.I've looked at the textures in the folder, and when selected to thumbnail view, only a few show, whereas with the other repaints (Delta), I can view all the textures.Could someone suggest ideas as to get this fixed,Cheers

Hi.When the wind direction is given that is the direction that it is coming FROM isn't it? So if the wind direction is 135 it is actually blowing in a WESTERLY direction? In other words it would be moving with the aircraft and not hindering the progress of the flight?Reason I am being so cautious is that I am trying a flight right on the maximum range of the airplane and I don't want to run out of fuel!CheersRic

hey everyone..I'm not sure if this was covered before, but has anyone else tried to use the sounds for the Dash 8-300 in other aircraft? I would love to use them in Sanchez's ATR 42-300, but unfortunately, they don't work. Also, I havent been able to start the dash 8, so I dont even know what they sound like when they're on! LOL. Can someone shed some light on how to use the sounds in other aircraft, if it's possible? Thanx!George

Hey Gang!I'm using the General Aviation real traffic released last month where the AI traffic has been programmed to actually carry out real flights all over the world. This is actually real nice because the AI have semi realistic call signs that match the countries you're flying in. The problem is that I'm seeing a lot of double planes landing and taking off - especially landing, and I know it has to do with double entries in the Flightplans.txt. Hi All, Has anyone figured out how to make Lago's FS Traffic work in 2002?Or, does anyone know if Lago is planning to release another FS Traffic for 2002?Not a programer, nor do I know about code, but I really enjoyed this program with FS 98 and 2000, it seems it would be a nice addition to 2002 and get away from the silly AI traffic which never seems to do what it is suppose to.Best to all,Clay

I have recently purchased via the internet, ARIANE STUDIO's new 737-300 analog panel. Whatever I do, I cannot get this downloaded. Numerous attempts have resulted in observation. The download cuts at 15 minutes EVERY TIME. Enquiries made by myself revealed that other flightsimmers in my part of the world suffer the same problem. So I am convinced the problem is not on my side. I have hardly ever had problems downloading large files from the net using my 56k modem. This panel, incidentally, is 16 Mb in size, zipped. My earlier B737-400 purchase from ARIANE also presented download problems, and after a dozen or so attempts I finally got my 2.6 Mb zipped file of this aircraf…

I remember reading an article about how British Airways was planning to phase out the World Tails paint schemes on their fleet and go back to the "Union" tails. That was back in the spring and I haven't heard anything since. Does anyone know anything about that?? Thanks!John-PaulToronto

I have taken out my old biostar mainboard with the Athalon 700 processor and 192 SDRAM and replaced it with a Gigabyte GA-7VRXP. I was a bit nervous after seeing posts from those who have had trouble with this board, but everything seems pretty OK. I used a retail AthalonXP 2000 chip and 512 MB of corsair PC2700 CAS2. I can now see all of what FS2002 has to offer (see how I keep it on topic?). I have a flyover of manhattan saved that I use for reference and am able to get almost 20fps with all the sliders up, but with multitexturing off, and running Quincunx antialiasing through the GF3 Ti200 gainward board.
