Firstly, this isn't my news! .... Jean-Paul gave us the heads up on this in another thread. B) I just wanted to say that I have downloaded the new version of the F1 GTN650 and 750 and have re-installed them > .... the installer now asks whether you want to install to FSX or "FSX Steam". Also, when using the Config tool, a pop-up appears stating "Multiple version of FSX are present, which do you wish to use, FSX or FSX Steam". B) So now we have these excellent gauges available for FS:SE. EXCELLENT JOB, FLIGHT 1 !! Just re-download the Installer(s), from the Flight 1 website, to get the new version(s). Hope this is the correct location to ask this question. Using FSX: SE, trying to get The Pilot Edge client connected. I am getting this error: "simconnect error you cannot connect without flight simulator running confirm flight simulator is started". I have the sim running, I have uninstalled all previous versions of simconnect and installed the simconnect found in the steam folder SP1. Have also tried XPACK. Not sure what would cause simconnect to not recognize that FSX is running. Any ideas?

I've been considering looking for a digital locker of some kind to put my installers in just in case the next time my computer goes kaput on me, any free ones with a decent size? Or ones that are cheap for what you get?

I've read the HIGHMEMFIX fix is no longer needed, but what about some of the other common FSX.cfg tweaks like ForceWindowedVsync=1 under [Graphics], WideViewAspect=True under [Display], AffinityMask=14 under [JobScheduler], and BufferPools=0 ? I haven't come across any discussion of these wrt FSX-SE.cfg. Does the use of a modern compiler eliminate the need for the AffinityMask tweak? Has Steam put out any info on what they have "fixed"? I've been trying to figure out how to get hte most recent sim connect so that my add ons will work in FSX steam edition. Can someone help me? I've seen that others are able to get theirs working, I just want to know how to do it.

For those that have a fully built FSX and don't want to rebuild to SE, I wonder if you could install SE to another HD or computer, then take the guts or core of SE that don't get overwritten by addons and drop them into FSX? If the new objects that were newly recompiled are supposed to be better performance wise, why not use the SE core parts and put them into an existing FSX install, making sure of course to backup the originals? I'd be willing to by the SE version and basically use it for parts in my existing FSX install if they are supposed to be more efficient. I'm guessing this would include all the stock .dlls, base world .bgls for terrain and buildings, etc. …

Can someone please help me integrate the GNS 530 in the new Lear 24B? I'd like to also be able to pop the GNS 530 by clicking on the GPS unit installed in the VC. Thanks. Jose

Steam should act as a central software depository. It would help with finding software compatible with FSX:SE, assist with your distribution, and help you find new customers.

MJ Support is helping me solve my problem. I need to know how to : Export HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Majestic Software\mjc840 to a file I managed until export, but I cannot find a file to export, I made an empty file. I clicked to save nothing happened. Will you please help me solve this problem. THX

Is there any way to download "Legacy"/ (old real wx) for FSX? I am getting tired of flying the same old summer rain (last known MS Wx download) n the middle of winter. I do not want to buy some add-on wx program either and or manually program in wx via the weather menu. Terry

Hello I recently obtained the Taxi2Gate OTHH scenery and I love it. However I noticed that the AI is in the old OTBD airport (they're sort of floating in air, since they're isn't much there) I have pretty much all WOAI aircraft and I was wondering if they're is a easy way to get all airlines that go to OTBD to go to OTHH? I don't have an experience in editing anything FSX related. Thanks!

I had to uninstall FSX, but when I went to install, I put the disk in and started installing. But before it could get anywhere, it said removing applications or something like that and it stayed like that and I took the disk out and then it said error 1603. It's making me frustrated somewhat, and don't know what is happening and don't know what to do. Thanks in advance.

Hi Simmers, Just to find out if possible (a) why are there so many waypoints on FSX maps that if you try to use them on your flight plan you get a message like, 'not in database', and your database has been updated? Especialy the ones closest to airports. Sometimes you run out of waypoints close to airports. b) Also, having started to fly IFR recently, the ATC will give you sometimes a runway to land that is not the one you had on the flight plan? Does this mean that you have to quickly change your FMC legs to accommodate the new ILS value, the approach waypoints and of course the runway number? If you change it too late, you will have …

Hello all. I just recently downloaded the Flight1 King Air B200. I loaded it for the first time and it seemed to load ready and running "the props were turning". I noticed the displays were not on, but I thought that the avionics switch was just off when it first loaded. I went into the settings and made everything "realistic" and cold and dark and it loaded as such. I switched on the battery and flipped the avionics master switch to on... and nothing happened. I pushed, pressed, flipped and manipulated every thing I could find on the display but could not get it to turn on. Am I missing a stupid step or is it possible that the download was corrupted by, say, an antivirus…

I need to reinstall FSX and Acceleration to hopefully fix my dll crash on exit. But my install DVD's for FSX Gold and Acceleration are not being properly read by the dvd drive. The files all show up but the drive constantly is reading over and over, no exe works, it just freezes and takes forever. Has anyone else come across this problem? What am I going to do? The Steam Edition is not an option for me since I use PMDG and Reality XP which are not compatible.

As a real world pilot there's nothing better then flying for real but flying FSX is also my best friend and should be every pilot's best friend. This weekend reminded me just how important FSX can be. So I set off to fly from VA to downtown Cleveland...no reason just haven't flown to Cleveland in a awhile. Decided to fly the DA40 Departing airport was KHSP... elevation close to 4,000. using skyvector as my flight planning tool there was airmets all the way, IFR, MOD ICE between freeze level surface to 8,000. Anyone know exactly what this file does or doesn't do? It seems to give me no end of grief in FSX. Especially on exiting:-(

Good evening all, I am not a real world pilot, so i do not know if this is realistic, but it seems to me that whenever i fly a plane in FSX, even when there is turbulence, it seems to fly super smooth, it does not feel like flying in real weather, more like flying on a "railway" I have FS GLobal Real time Weather and the registered FSUIPC4, are there maybe recommended settings for these add ons to get a more realistic flying experience?

First of all, I am very impressed with this Learjet model. It is superbly done. Great Job LHC! I do have an issue though. During flight my engines suddenly shut down. Happens during climb or cruise. At cruise engines around 75% Any ideas what's going on? It's happened on all 4 of my flights so far.

Recently FSX keeps dropping out to the task bar. Not to desktop & it can be restored from the task bar, but this is extremely annoying. It mostly happens with complex sims such as PMDG 77NGX. I have tried running FSX alone i.e.no addons, such as Pro ATC & Active Sky, but it still happens. Any suggestions as to cause will be appreciated. Tony Merry
