All the aircraft vapor trails, waves breaking onshore, and ground dust and debris are black. Until today all these things were white. I downloaded a "Tom" 727 freeware file from the FlightSim aircraft library which had a black engine smoke feature,I uninstalled it, including all the effects, so there are no files left in the FSX program. I'm not sure if that aircraft had anything to do with this, but I suspect it did since the vapor trails now. have the same blocky texture as the black smoke feature. I tried looking for anything in the settings that could cause this,but I can't get rid of the problem,no matter what I try. Short of reinstalling FSX and all the many addons,…

hi..when i start up the aircraft, i pull up the fmc and i cannot put in any city and it always comes back with ....not in database....i have fsx ....i cant even put in the fltplan..rctpkjfk.fltplan.....that is in the fltplan file folder....any help would be appreciated..thanks in advance..rgds ken

I know people say it's better to have FSX on a separate HDD to the operating system, but for those of us with only one HDD, is there any benefit to be gained from a seperate partition, just for FSX?

There is the NL2000 version 4 (freeware) which I already have and is very good. But there are also payware add-ons like VFR Netherlands and Megasceneryearth Netherlands. Which of these is best please (for VFR flying around the Netherlands)? Is there anything else out there too?

I decided to buy myself a Christmas present tonight and got Simplates X Ultra. I had read some reviews that stated the charts provided by the program are outdated, but I wasn't overly concerned about that. However, after looking at several, I found that every one of them are current. Overall, I really like the program and am glad I got it. Ken

Hi guys! So I recently got FSX for the first time. I have it on Steam. I started loading up modules, found the F-14D package, as well as the Goshawk. I found the AI carrier package, and loaded that up. But I seem to be having a problem. I can land on the carrier with multiple planes, the tomcat, the goshawk, the hornet... And I can taxi to the launch area, and hook up. I drop the launch bar, hook up to the catapult, and then attempt to launch myself. And when I reach the end of the launch, it's like the plane hits an "Invisible wall", immediately registers a "crash", and restarts the mission. I can try to turn off the crashes in the settings, b…

Hi there, Can someone that has UT2 that has done a successful backup and re-install point me in the right direction to a step by step procedure to backup and restore UT2 so I don't lose about 50 hours of assigning aircraft and repaints as well as schedule mods made using power pack. Hello, I have just purchased the steam version of fsx. I noticed in the steam app that the only option is to install fsx and not to download it first. Is it possible to download the installer of fsx se as backup for future re-installing? Some hints will be nice! Thanks!

I only have the FSXSE version. I was thinking about purchasing the DX10 Fixer, but I dont want to waste money on a program to fix something that DTG might fix later in an update? What would you do in my situation with only FSXSE? Purchase DX10 Fixer now or wait to see if there will be an update from DTG to fix the DX10 issues?

I've done a complete reinstall of FSX. Also I installed Ezdok again but I can't get it working. Ezdok is showing in my taskbar when I'm running FSX but not in my Addon menu in FSX. When I close the sim Ezdok says that FSX process is not found. I've tried various possible solutions, given in other topics but the problem is still there. Also event viewer, fsx.cfg and exe.xml seems to be okay. Can somebody help me please?

Or do I have to install all my addons again and takeup double the space?

Are there (still) any FSEconomy users here? I've got a quick question: What's the biggest airplane available in FSE? There's no official list on their page and the biggest aircraft that was mentioned in all FSE discussions that I've skimmed through was the (default) DC-3. So any chance to fly something as big as a, say, J41, Fokker 27, ATR42 or Metroliner in it? I understand that FSE isn't geared towards airline-like flying, but still...would be nice to know before I jump in.

Hi everyone,I just started for the first time ever running FSX in windowed mode as with the new NGX, I can get better performance by hiding the mouse on my second monitor. I have autohide turned on for the task bar at the bottom, but is there a way to hide the smaller FSX bar at the top so it seems like full screen? Not the bar when you hit the option key, but the program bar that is always visible when FSX is running. Any help is greatly appreciated. :) Best regards, Jeff

Hey guys i noticed some strange square grids in my water at night, you can also faintly see them in the day along the lines of scenery i'm using ASN Rex Direct ( current version ) FTX global UTX also running in DX10 with the current Steves fixer i adjusted the brightness and contrast in photoshop so i could see what was going on it appears to me that these lines only occur in the colored areas of the water i seem to remember seeing something about this a while back could this be caused by FTX settings or REX any ideas Thanks in advance JHo

I have noticed that the Ifly 747 seems to start at different conditions when using the cold start feature from the FMC. When I first installed the plane, it worked ok. After I get the engines running and all warning messages out, I shut it down, but the next time I run it, the panel is dead but the engines are trying to spool up. It's like there is some file that remembers the last state it was running and tried to set it that way even though the panel is dead.Anyone else have problems with the cold start?

So my computer underwent maintenance this week, which saw the hard drive replaced. Fortunately all my data was backed up and they encountered no errors in returning the PC to normal, it operates extremely well now. However since I have had the PC returned I've encountered two errors, with FSX and Aerosoft's GATC - All other programmes including ASN etc work without issues. With FSX I'm greeted with ''FSX has encountered a fatal error and needs to close.'' - Deleting my fsx.cfg doesn't fix the issue. With Aerosoft's GATC, an image is displayed (below). Does anyone have an inkling as to what happened?

Not sure how to describe it but here goes... I have another problem with track IR and flight sim. When i look hard right all the way round and as far as track IR can go, and when i return my head back track IR is off slightly. It resets somehow facing slightly right? And not centred. I'm using the clippro I use ezdok, OS7, 737 ngx

Hello and Happy New Year!! I want to uninstall FSPassengers and FSRecorder, since I do not use these programms anymore. Is the "uninstall" procedure through "Add/Remove" Programms sufficient or should I do any extra work? Is there any prossibility that a .dll file may stay inside FSX, after uninstall, and cause any problems? Thank you Dimitris

Hi all, i like to fly with DHM enabled..it really ads a lot to the immersion.. Whenever i am in VC and try to move forward or back the eyepoint using CTRL BACKSPACE and CTRL ENTER the viewpoint is immediately reset back to how it was..Is there a way to move the viewpoint without being reset?? Hey Together, i have seen in other forums that for some addons it is useful to install the simconnect versions from the sdk folder of FSX-SE. I could install two of tree. For the FSX-XPACK i get a very "confusing" error message: The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation I could not find a lot of infos on google with this error message? Has anybody a tipp? I am the administrator of my computer so i dont know what the problem is. thank you brgds
