I just bought the 747 HD from Just Flight for a very good price, $15. I'm pleased with the overall look of the model, the sounds, etc, but the flight model appears to be off. The aircraft is much too responsive. I haven't ever flown a 747, but I know that it shouldn't handle like a Cessna Has anyone else noticed this? And is there a way to tweak it to make the aircraft feel more 'heavy'?

Hello! I've been hearing about the FSXWX freeware weather engine (http://www.plane-pics.de/fsxwx/home.htm) in the forums recently. I currently have REX Essentials + OD and use its weather engine. I would like to know how it compares with FSXWX if anybody has any experience with the two. And PLEASE don't bring up ASN. My computer is not the best and it would just kill my framerate . Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Does anyone know if its possible to Hotkey buttons to increase or decrease Autogen complexity without having to go into the menu's, probably via FSUIPC? I understand it will still have to load in the textures again etc... Thanks Dan

Strange lights near planes that disappear when I get closer. What is causing this? I also saw it with a bare bones setup of FSX. FSX SP2, no traffic add-ons used, no airport add-ons used, other than Orbx Global:

I downloaded and unpacked Belgium 2012 and have now 2 files Belgium 2012 and Brussels HD both with 2 files: scenery and texture. And also the Belgium 2012 Grey areas patch. How can I install this knowing that I have already installed Ultimate TerrainX Europe, ManhattanX and Megascenery X Southern California? After that I want to install The Netherlands 2000 scenery version 4.06 . I believe I have to move certain scenery up or down in the scenery manager? Hello guys, I'm brand new here and I was looking for some advice. I've been an off and on FSX simmer for a while now, but I haven't played the simulator in years. I'm just getting back into it and looking to spend some money. The only thing I've purchased so far was the PMDG 777-200 base plus 300ER expansion. I also bought Ground Services X. After flying the aircraft I think I made the wrong purchase as I may be a bit different in terms of what I find fun. My fps is ridiculously low and makes no sense at all, i have my frames locked at 30fps and i get around 24-30 fps at uk2000 egll/egkk and i am running loads of addons, rex, axe, asn etc. And i loaded my flight up to default Coppenhagen and my fps was 10 at the gate, and I also noticed something odd because i could hardely hear my gpu fans running because usually they are pretty loud when my frames are really high. So i am pretty sure that my frames are very low because of my gpu load and no way my system should be getting less fps than a more demanding airport like uk2000 scenrey. I am also using just uning BP=0 under bufferpools in my cfg file I7 4790k @ 4.0ghz, …

I would like to download and install the Posky Embraer 135. I've never used an aircraft from posky and would like some help installing the files properly. I understand they do not provide an installer and you must download and install the elements individually. Beyond that, I'm lost. All help is appreciated.

I installed SE on my computer alongside my existing boxed edition. It is becoming clear that soon I won't require two installations because I am very pleased with the Steam Edition. As soon as the PMDG and Orbx issues are resolved that is the way I am going to go. My question is, what do I have to do to make sure that once the boxed edition is removed installers like the one for Orbx products find the SE installation and do not try to install to the removed boxed edition? Will the uninstall remove all the necessary registry entries, or will I have to do that manually? If so, will it be easy to use a registry editor to remove what needs to be deleted, or is it hard to …

Hi guys, it seems that anyone missed that IRIS just released their so called "Battlefield Airlifter" which is pretty much the Alenia C-27J. The product itselfe is a much more sophisticated version of their C-27J (released 2011), later rebranded as "Tactical Airlifter". It is free for all cutomers of the C-27J and the Tactical Airlifter wich I think is a really nice gesture. So what´s in it? The outside model wasn´t changed that much, some new paints have been developed whereas the inside has mostly been redone. I am hoping that someone who owns Aerosoft's Mega Airport Frankfurt can give me some input as to how hard it is on FPS. I know that it is a little bit older, so it is not optimized with the latest technology that allows highly detailed airports like Flightbeam's KIAD to run relatively well. I am also considering buying Mega Airport Amsterdam, so it would be great if someone could tell me how the two compare. I can run the default EDDF at around 15-20 FPS on my system, and at around 25-30 if I disable traffic. My specs are listed below. Thanks for any help! Hi everyone - hoping someone might know why the AI aircraft labels (a list of aircraft) appears at random adjacent the title bar in FSX? I was just in the process of re-installing several FSDT airport sceneries in FSX-SE, and activating them using the Couatl add-on manager, when I realized that the manager gives some insight into the various configuration tweaks that have been globally applied. It was already known that the HIMEMFIX tweak had been compiled-in to the new Steam executable, so that it is no longer necessary to add it in FSX.CFG, and indeed HIGHMEMFIX shows "on". Hi, Anyone else noticed that they miss some effects in FSX-SE version? i have only installed steam version of FSX, all files are there where they should be, installed PMDG MD11, no problem when installing it, accepted all elements in Trusted Section! (All 3 PMDG.dll's and 2 MD11dll's), every instrument in cockpit is working nicely, great fps in game, but when in spot view i see i misses nav, strobe and beacon lights. Anyone lese noticed it? Later i installed some scenery's and noticed same thing, lights in scenery who comes from effect files is missing, runway, papi etc working normal... I'm trying to get some commuter ai's installed which aren't included in any of woai packages. I'm wondering if the ai aircraft (mostly aig btw) should show up in the current aircraft folder in fsx? I have been trying to use AIFP3 to install the aircraft as well as the flight plans and I'm not sure I'm doing it right. I placed the ai aircraft in my aircraft folder along with the flyable planes.

Hi everybody...first off, Happy New Year...and now...the following: Boy..can this be so easily overlooked: When you switch between placing texture sets in either FSX(x) or P3D(x)....by the Flight Sim selection tab-button, make sure that you also change (this is NOT DONE AUTOMATICALLY!) DX modes as well. I wondered why my water and animation textures for water looked so dull and crappy...and then by glancing at the three (3) DX(x) set up tabs...saw that even though I had set Rex 4 Direct's flight sim button to FSX, the DX formats were still set to what I use (DX(11) in P3D v2.4. I have just noticed that if I fly the default 737-800, Lear Jet 45 or CRJ-700 above about 250kts at any altitude, the aircraft start to shake violently as one might experience in either a stall or overspeed situation. This does not occur with the default 747-400 or F/A-18 or any of my addon jet aircraft of which I have a large number operational in FSX. I guess I have not noticed this before as I very rarely fly any of the default FSX aircraft, other than for occasional test purposes to evaluate frame rates with a new addon airport. Ok, so this is not a please help nor a problem...this is just something I am tinkering with a bit to see if I can get it to work. I am wanting to try and find a pirep system so I can make a va, and I came across this little tool...and now with steam edition coming out I thought I might as well try and get a little ahead of the curve and create a Steam Edition VA using this tool so I won't have to host a server for Pireps. Hi , Happy new year for all of you Last night I had a real time and real weather (ASN) flight from OIIE to VRMM (Aerosoft Maldives scenery) by PMDG 777-300ER witch took about 5 hours. Prior to TOD as usual I saved the flight and without leaving the flight, continued my descent to Male airport. Just before touchdown in RWY 36 I saw some parts of the runway as well as its lights were missing.After landing and as the plane proceeded in the runway it was visible for several meters and then went missing for another several meters and that repeated until the end of runway.
