Curiosity may have killed the cat, but I am curious why some posts say just "Bump"?Is it some form of inside joke that I will never get? Just curious......

Have gone through most of the forum and tried the fixes but still having problems. The joystick seems to work right up until FS2002 finishes loading. All of a sudden I lose the force feedback and the stick goes loose. Have uninstalled and reinstalled but always the same results. Has anyone else had this problem or know a fix I could try. Should mention I am running Win XP Home editionThanks Chris

Cam2Pan version 1.0.2 was released on November 28, 2002 at www.cam2pan.com. A fully functional trial version is downloadable free of charge. Cam2Pan software translates user's head motion into panning (for MSFS-2002 also download: Active Camera Pro 1.3. from http://www.anticyclone.be/active.html and then hit F12). The head image comes from a tiny webcam facing the user. Alex CohnRule: each rule has exceptions. Exceptions: none.

  5. Folks,Although I was able to pass the private pilot lessons in the area of the steep turns (maintaining altitude and as close to a 45 degree bank as possible), when I attempted the last part of this lesson section - the Private Pilot Checkride - the instructor had always failed me during the steep turn section.I know that I never deviated more than +/- 100' of the assigned 2000' altitude and I was very close to the 45 degree left bank angle, but I suspect that I did deviate from my initial IAS value by more than the prescribed +/- 10 KIAS. I usually begin the turn at about 100 - 110 Kts and increase power about 1/2 way through the turn to maintain that speed.I followed th…

Someone just gave me an nVidia GeForce 2 MX 64MB to replace my old Voodoo 3 3000. It is better than the Voodoo. But, I note that if I select anti-aliasing in display preferences, the aircraft panels are rendered very poorly. I have the lastest drivers. Everything else is OK, it's just the panels (not virtual). Anyone have any ideas on this one?

  8. I became concerned about the Iron Knuckles DC9 a week or so ago when the developers started labeling it as an "entertainment title". I had hoped that didn't mean "dumbed down" too much. Well, I think Jim did his product a disservice by giving it that moniker. While I'm sure they took certain liberties with the panel, it remains robust and has more than a few functions we haven't seen done well in other addons (the cabin pressure for one). I also love the fact that they offered so much flexibility with the 2D panels - especially important for those of us with multiple monitors. It is both entertaining and challenging to fly and I'm very happy with it.Still, there are just …

Many people have asked how can we remove the virtual cockpit side views so we can use 2D side views. This has been discussed many times over and their is no permanent fix, as we all know that the virtual cockpit is built into the model. This temporary solution has worked for me, and I'll share it now with you.I'm not going to get into the details of the panel.cfg file but will assume we all know what it is, where it is located and how to edit it..Solution:1. Add all the 2D views to your panel.cfg file.2. Switch to the virtual cockpit and then press "shift enter" until the virtual cockpit is completely out of site. That's it, your done. When you switch back to the 2D panel…

In the AVSIM library today is a great little plane from the late 40's. The Cessna 140 really looks beautifully accurate and seems to fly well. Also included is a lot of information of the history of this plane many of us old foggies learned to love. Many thanks Brian for a delightful bit of history that still lives on. Excellent freeware to treasure!

Dear all, After installing the already infamous CFS3, I noticed that my textures in FS2002 became fuzzy, blurred, when looking at certain angles. If I look at a 90 degree angle from the fuselage, they're OK. If I slowly rotate towards to nose, they become all blurred. All of a sudden, my textures in Operation Flashpoint started flickering as well..So far I tried: -Changing color depth from 16 to 32 bit.-Uninstalling CFS3 [i thought drivers]-Uninstalling/reinstalling 2002 [probably corrupt configs?]-Rolling back my system a week.. -Another uninstall/reinstall.. -Upgraded my drivers.. [siS 630/730, 16 mb.] It's a laptop, BTWAnd still fuzzy textures. The textures in OFP don'…

Never had a problem with stuttering in FS2002 using Win XP until last week. I used the defrag program in XP and now I have very bad stutters. Frame rates stay at 17-20 during these stutters. Does this mean a reinstall? Has anyone else had this problem? What's the cure? BobAMD 2200+Epox 8HKA+512 megs Mushkin PC2100Maxtor 40gig 7200rpm ATA133 hard driveHercules Geforce 3 Video card

  18. I am attempting to add some purpose to my flight simming and would like to plan a round the world trip of my own in a general aviation single engine prop plane. The only problem is I don't know what the "rules" are for an acceptable around the world flight. For instance, I know it is generally necessary to cross the equator at least once for the trip to be "valid". Also, I am looking for any websites or tools/utilities that may help me come up with a good route to take (I would like to start from my home in Melbourne, FL). I am trying to make this very realistic and as "real-world" as possible so any recommendations/referrals that anyone can give would be greatly appr…

I have just spent a whole weekend carefully compiling accurate VFR flight plans, only to use them in FS2002 and end up completely lost. After checking and re-checking my navigation, suspicion fell on FS2002 itself.Sure enough, tests proved that FS2002 will correctly react to wind direction and strength IF travelling N-S or E-W. True track and magnetic heading all work out correctly. However if travelling at an angle i.e. virtually any heading on the compass exept the above, FS2002 is hopelessly inaccurate - some headings are wrong by as much as 15 degrees. To me this means VFR is a waste of time on FS2002. Has anyone else come to this rather disappointing conclusion ??John A…

Hello All:Starting yesterday evening this would occur. VFR flight. No flight plan. Receive permission to taxi from ground with directions as as always. Taxi to hold short and contact Tower, no problems. Cleared for takeoff VFR. After liftoff, Tower releases me at the limits of their airspace. I contact departure for permission to transit the airspace. When they assign a squak and I autotune it. ATC stops speaking, by that no radar contact. The text message displayed is that there are no messages for departure. The controllers never speak to me again. I can hear them talking to other traffic. If I manually tune any other freq than the departure one, I receive th…

  22. I remember with the old version of IE 3.2 - the cache worked perfectly . Click on "BACK " button and it went back to the previous page instantly. Then somewhere along the way (ver4, 5, 5.5 or 6) , it got broken and has remained broken. Now, when you click "BACK" , sometimes it instantly displays the previous page - but mostly it goes away and redownloads the page . This also happens when you click "Save" - it redownloads the page that you are looking at onscreen before saving . I know this because I have an external modem and I can see the lights working.I have tried every conceivable setting in the Temporary Internet Files settings page - but to no avail.Anbody got any i…

I love to fly FS aircraft I could imagine myself being able to afford to fly. With the average 140 going for around $20K, Brian Gladden's new 140 is one of the most enjoyable additions to my 2k2 in a long while.... Here's a link to the shots recently posted to the screenshots forum:http://ftp.avsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboa...rum=DCForumID47
